- The moment when you get to meet an artist from a band you adore is a special one. For me, my most recent A Music Blog, Yea? highlight was meeting alt emo-rock legend and My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. While in Toronto in support of his debut solo record Hesitant Alien, we had a chat with Way to discuss loving Britpop, covering David Bowie, comic books, superpowers, and the new record. Enjoy our exclusive interview!

Ella M Nonono anyone commenting on his weight is a butt. You get older, your metabolism goes down, it happens. Besides, he was very thin before. I'm actually rather happy he put on some weight.

I know alot of people don't wanna hear this... But Gerard is doing much better now that MCR broke up. He's so much more happy, and you can tell he's very passionate about what he's doing now.
Maybe splitting up was for the best, face it. I'd rather see Gee happy doing what he's doing now then miserable in My Chemical Romance.
And the interviewer did an amazing job! Great work👍 Everytime the wind would blow, her dress would kinda float up and she'd have to push it down... that would happen to me too😂 That had nothing to do with anything, sorry. Anyways... great interview! :)

I think all of the fans are truly happy that Gee seems to be doing so much better now. Sure, we miss the band, but as long as everyone is happy and they all are friends then we all are happy for them.

At first I was like wtf how can she act so composed its Gerard Way goddammit! So I was like yh she's skilled at remaining chill. Then her dress started flying around everywhere and she stayed so calm, like I would have jumped around d place is my skirt was flying around Gerard Way. Bless this child. Also G seems a little down :/

This interview was a really done well. I like how she actually listened to his answers before trying to jump to the next question. It bugs the crap out of me when an interviewer asks something, & then before the person can complete their thoughts, the interviewer is moving on to something else, like, "see how interesting my questions are?". I also appreciate the effort put into thinking up something different for Gerard to answer. Some have been asked before, of course, but there was definitely new information, & there were none of those godawful intrusive questions that make him cringe. Very well done!

God I love when I see a damn good interview like this. Most of the Gee interviews I see are so super cringe, embarrassing, or just plain boring and redundant. I am female so I don’t mean this to sound severe against my own sex, but I find women who interview Gerard are always annoying af. This is a rarity. A super chill interviewer with good questions. Super gorgeous too! I love this ❤️
