@@gashthrasher_8976 true but who's lighter and more aerodynamic? And it's a little north of 100hp difference in the shelby vs a vehicle that weighs about 6-800 pounds less give or take. Both are amazing cars imo

I have a deposit down for a 2021 C8 but have been debating between that and the GT500. Since you have both, what's your opinion? I do not plan to track the car but will utilize it for weekend driving. The things holding me back from getting a GT500 over the C8 is the fact that I really like the C8 look and it seems like a much better everyday driver if you decide to use it as such. Your thoughts?

Grip = Tires. Gotta give props to the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. All the power in the world doesn't mean anything if the tires can't translate that power into actionable force into the ground.
Tires are everything on track, if they suck the car and driver fight each other way too much sometimes, but the cup 2s are sticky and the Ford performance spec cup 2s are setup for what that car wants and needs so nicely.

As jealous as I am, with today's technology, anyone that has half a brain and just a little bit of skill can drag race and track a car. The tech has taken away the need to be able to feather a throttle or finess a loose car through curves. I by no means am down playing or saying you don't have skills and I'm sure that you are better than I am, just for the record. Your new Mustang and Vette are both awesome! As I said, I'm a little jealous. But I do enjoy your videos! Keep up the good content!

I got a slightly faster time on PS4 Gran Tursimo on this track with a 2017 Mustang GT with weight set to lightest and power set to highest on soft race compound tires.
Ok when are you going get the new electric Hummer.. put some Cup2s on it..needs a track mode setting.. just saying..-)

I just saw the 2020 Super Snake, I'm extremely surprised you didn't go for that car instead, The GT500 being a Ford Production car. The Super Snake is stick shift 800 HP and Official Registered Shelby American.

Wow impressive! You were flying! I have a 20 350R I track & am ordering a 21 c8 but this car is next up! It looked like you could do whatever you wanted & car responded.
I got to say, as soon as you started getting on the track and I heard the automatic, a sadness came over me.
I remember in May you estimate 1:28 in your C8 if you had fresh Cup2 and no traffic. Here you estimate a little less than that for your CFTP. That about right? Will be very interesting with the C8 Z06 comes out in mid 2022 vs. the GT500 CFTP.
