Wow, wow, wow. You don't know how much this video helped me. I was able to see the bakup in my google drive, but there was no option to restore. And then i watched this video. Thanks alot for sharing this type of video.

Why the H*LL does Google/Android have a BACKUP feature WITHOUT a RESTORE feature? I was in Information Technology for 32 years, Google's/Android's TOTAL LACK a RESTORE feature for a device NOT being replaced by a new one is CHILDISH and ASININE! 🤬🤬👹👹
Is there STILL no setting to restore the app folders/groups from the old device to the new device? So I still have to spend ages re-creating the app folders/groups?
What is the difference between backup google and samsung cloud? What is better and more complete? I want have all same (apps, settings…) I don’t understand the difference between samsung cloud and google cloud backup
I mainly use google back up because photos are saved to google photos and apps and such are backed up as well. Samsung backup backs up your photos and videos to a Microsoft account and info is saved on your Samsung cloud. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! The Samsung Switch is a useless app and they have removed the "restore" option under google in the settings. You saved the day by giving this alternate method. Once again, thank you.
After all these years I forgot how to restore . Usually I upgrade every year so I just transfer from one phone to another so I totally forgot how to restore thank you for this video
So you can only do a restore on a new or factory reset phone ? Does the back save your apps ? And does a restore actually reinstall those apps ? The internet is very scant on showing the restore process.
Correct you can only do a restore process when the phone is in brand new set up. It will have apps backed up, but may not back up app data. Thanks for watching!
On Samsung phones it can be tricky to reach the point where it gives option to restore from old phone backup from Google Drive. The trick I think is to reach that point in the new phone setup wizard where it says ".. Can't access old device.." or ".. Don't have old device.." and then tap on it and follow the wizard.
Is anyone else experiencing a restore issue of Google One not completely restoring call logs or home screen folder layout to the new device? I'm going from Motorola Stylus 5G (2023) to Samsung Galaxy A25 and I've tried multiple times via Google One and Samsung Switch, but it's still not working. Could someone please shed some light on this for me? It's very frustrating having to recreate folders and missing 4 months of call history. 😖
The only thing about back up using mobile or metered wifi data, it's not good because if you travel, you'll be charged for it as roaming unless you don't travel out of your country, you can use it.
My G phone 6 has a broken non functioning, I have a G phone 7, just delivered, how can I back up? My G6 has been used as normal and such, not done back up manually, as I did not know the screen would mess up,
Ok your G6. If the screen is messed up, unfortunately you may not be able to do anything about it. Only thing would be if you had that phone automatically backed up. Sometimes phones do and sometimes they don’t. If you don’t see the backup when you are setting up the new phone, then I unfortunately you may need to start from scratch. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
My phone google was maxed out and it stopped backing up since June and my whatsapp stop backing up since February then my phone screen broke so now I've made some space the automatic backup would not work. Is there a way to push google to backup from the webpage? The phone is on and connected to the internet but the screen is blank.
The backup process does do that. Certain apps may not like work apps that are outside of the play store. But the switch should just be a copy and paste! Thanks for watching!
I think that the screen he is showing for the "restore option" is the welcome screen that displays automatically after the phone has been reset and reverts back to factory settings. Just like when you purchase a new phone and then turn it on with a new SIM card, probably. There are many more videos about this same situation (restore from Google One backup) that can help😊🙋
Does not seem you've done any real testing before creating this video. Google One is unable to properly backup MMS and RCS messages, even with a paid subscription. When Google restores messages it will only restore the text portions. All other content within MMS and RCS will appear blank.
Yes, I have the same problem, the text is there, but the picture associated with MMS is gone. I made them a video, now they want me to send them a debug file running in the developer mode, I think they are clue less, but I got the file to send them.

The restore process takes place in the setup stage of the phone. You may have to factory reset your device and set it up again. Congrats on the new phone! Thanks for watching!
when you back up the phone, it will back up the contents. When you restore, it will restore the contents too. You can erase the app you downloaded, then back it up, then restore.
If you already signed in, you may have to factory erase the new phone and start over again.. Kind of tedious, but that’s how you restore to the full experience. Thank you for watching!

This all look good if you restore to same phone. When you restore from Moto or some other xyz brand other than Samsung to Samsung , it fails. Your best bet is phone to phone smart copy using cable or wifi(scanning QR code). I will probably try another method by installing backup and Restore app from google play and give a try. I think old Samsung phones are more stable than new trashy devices. Anyway , I am not a fan of Korean brand.
The only important step Click can't use old device so that you can be forced to choose which backup you want. It'll show a list of backups from every phone. Now you can choose which backup you want and everything will be restored👌
You’ll have to make sure your photos and videos are backed up into google photos. Once those are backed up, in your new phone, you should see them by logging in with the the same google account. Thanks for watching!!

I think old Samsung phones are more stable than new trashy devices. Anyway , I am not a fan of Korean brand.
The only important step
Click can't use old device so that you can be forced to choose which backup you want. It'll show a list of backups from every phone. Now you can choose which backup you want and everything will be restored👌
After restoring your back up in new phone if you delete your back up photo in new phone if the photo will be deleted from your old phone
I tried same but pictures and videos in gallery is not getting restored.
You’ll have to make sure your photos and videos are backed up into google photos. Once those are backed up, in your new phone, you should see them by logging in with the the same google account. Thanks for watching!!
@@LuckyTechLife iam to view pics n videos but not able to download all of them back to phone at once after resetting phone.

Does this back up user data?
Great Question! This app does back up certain user data. I’ve seen some info transfer that was surprising. Thanks for watching!
I have forgotten my old screen lock password, so now how do I restore my backup data
Can u make it not backup certain apps
Apps are all or nothing unfortunately
Good content, but for some reason its not accepting PIN and wont copy data
Those dang pins… it could be a previous pin you had on the old phone.. ran into that a few times…
4:43 what of you can't remember the lock screen, cuz it was a pattern 😑
you’ll have to remember it.. unfortunately..
Does it backup Facebook data? I mean Facebook id username and password.
It does not. If you have your Facebook info saved in google password, you may need to look in there. Thanks for watching!
Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. I recently transferred to a new phone and I guess I didn't do the Google backup thing beforehand because my old WhatsApp conversations have not transferred & there are some other unexpected annoyances. I still have both phones handy.
My question is:
*What should I do if I want to get my old WhatsApp conversations on my new phone?
* Can I try and just redo the whole process again?
WhatsApp has it's own transfer system from within the app.
I did this and it restored everything but my photos. The photos are all there in one drive but for some reason they haven't restored back into my Gallery. Anyone have any tips on how to get them back?
Depends on what phone you have. they wont go back into gallery. It’ll be in your google photos.
thanks helped a lot

got all the way up to the pin and- "something went wrong. Try again later."
You can try to turn off the phone and turning it back on. Resets sometimes fix those issues. Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU!
So stupid that you need do factory reset to restore from google backup.
I agree 100%
And how to do it after setting-up the device?😂
I have forgotten my old phone password. Please help
If you forgotten for old password. You’ll need that in order to continue or you’ll have to start fresh..
why i have to hard reset
It’s the only way to process a complete restore on your android phone. When going into the settings, the restore only happens through the contacts and photos, nothing else. Thanks for watching!
great stuff
Thanks
i followed all the steps but when i logged back in it said there were no backups found. fuck Google
