Man I just found this documentary on chase and it blows my mind how far he’s come since we skated together when we were in Junior Highschool. He was always so quite and soft spoken but overall a super rad dude and always fun to skateboard with. Even if it was 120 degrees outside we would always skate 10 houses down at my buddies house on all his wood ramps we all built. Pushing each other to learn new tricks! So sick to watch him still pushing around, I remember watching him try to double kick flip for hours. All before he got into hard drugs and we all went different paths. So this really takes me back and I love it.
@@pressingexpectation3151 its autocorrect, mate. And also not hard to understand. I bet you are the type of metalhead that gets tilted for people wearing metallica shirts lol
Im glad i took the time to learn more of the personal side of the band and Chase. He's done a great job changing his life around. Be proud of yourself.
Every time I go to the skatepark, I bring along a bluetooth speaker and crank Gatecreeper. Absolutely love that there's a crossover I wasn't even aware of.
I got to say this is one of the most humble man I've met in my life he played a show at the summit music Hall in Denver (8/27/2021) and he was running the merch stand and i gotta say one of the chilliest dudes to every come across in my life, If your reading this best wishes man
I feel as if I'm connected with Chase in some ways after seeing this video. Not just with playing music but with his life experiences. I use to skateboard when I was younger, and also had a very bad drug addiction for over 15 years. Pain pills and heroin were my demons. I have been sober for quite a few years now. I played bass guitar for a band called Thorns of the Carrion for a while. They have actually released a few albums, and are on UA-cam. I'm not sure of the label that the albums were on or if on one at all. I wanted to be sober for my 3 boys, and turn my life around through music and a wood working business I've been trying to get off the ground. I feel so much more inspired after seeing this video and especially Chase speaking out about his addiction. Stay metal!!!....and please!!!....don't do drugs folks!!!!
5:25 I was so hyped for this show it was down the street from my dorm and it was on my birthday would’ve been so sick but got tickets to see them in October with knocked loose so I’m hyped on that
Keep up the good work. You've created quite possibly my favorite band and I've been a fan of music since the 80s. I'm also coming up on 9 years in recovery (and play guitar), so it was cool to relate to many of the things you talked about. I've enjoyed every Gatecreeper show in Portland, OR possible - always loud & great shows. 🤘
I think that you may know my son "Mega Busive" hip hop artists in the bay and long time skateboarder. Now my granson is following in his footsteps and I agree with what you are doing with boarding and bands local entertainment in Santa Cruz.
It's ok to admit that you need help. It's never a sign of weakness, it just shows that you're human. Gatecreeper rules and its cool it see a different side of Chase 🤘
I’ve been skating since I was 5 when I was 5 I only had a penny board but when I was 9 I got a Walmart board then when I was 10 I had gotten a Santa Cruz board so I’m 11 now finally skating on a Santa Cruz board
I used to know chase back in the day! I wonder if he remembers being in “tree house Cadillacs”???? He was also in amazing band called “slut sister” and they released 4 incredibly good songs.
What's crazy to me is that without officially knowing that Chase was a skater, his music automatically made me think of skating. These riffs just blend too well with the activity.
How is Maurios’ ankle doing? I’ve rolled mine 3 times in last 8 months and I’ve never had serious injuries. I got some high tops…… I don’t wanna start screaming at a skatepark ever again.
Wish Riley of Power Trip went down the road Chase did sobriety aint easy man bit imagine a Power Trip and Gatecreeper tour maybe Toxic Holocaust as well. Would of been cool 😎

This bands deserves the recognition
They deserve a reward cuz they’ve gained hella speed in popularity since they started in 2016 dude
@@pressingexpectation3151 I'm saying they are famous, and they deserve it. Not rocket science.

gatecreeper is on the rise and chase deserves every second of it
That skull and cactus is rad as fuck.
This is awesome. I’m in recovery. Almost 3 years off booze. 🙌🏼chase
I'm not a skater but if I had a Gatecreeper deck, I'd at least try to skate the fuck out of it
Yeah, Chase is definitely an inspiration to me now after watching this.
Chase is the most wholesome, down to earth frontman I've seen!
Chase and co are such cool dudes - seen them at that DC show he mentioned. Glad to see these dudes' hard work paying off.
AZ represent! One of the most wholesome dudes out there
💗 Rad. Hope this is a series. Would be perfect timing for a Turnstile episode...
The fact that he pulled out Jimmy Eat World for Mesa 🔥🔥🔥
Wolverine Blues is such a fantastic record - I even like it more than Left Hand Path

DBC.. Daily Blessings Coming!

It's cool that they're still using Garageband instead of all the fancy new software and plug-ins to write music.
Mad respect to Chase and Gatecreeper
Can't explain how much this video helped me.

Mi gallo el Chase 🖤
A legit dude and fellow lover of good old swedish death metal
Same I’m ten and I skate this is sick
More SantaCreeper collabs!
When he said GED riffs I thought he meant chords. Took me ten minutes to figure out the joke.
I really enjoy these bandmember series interviews. Hope to see more.
What's crazy to me is that without officially knowing that Chase was a skater, his music automatically made me think of skating. These riffs just blend too well with the activity.
Man of culture

Great band.
