I just want to say, that I was a little shocked when you said, that Jaxton goes to bed at 7:30 pm, and Iris stays up until 9:30. When I was growing up my siblings and I all went to bed at the same time. I'm not saying that what your doing is wrong though.

Cassie, my suggestion is to go have iris weighed and her reflux meds adjusted if you notice her spitting up again! We had to get my sons adjusted about once a month for the first 6 months on the reflux meds!

You guys depend an awful lot on family. Mimi and Papa are not going to live forever. What about a babysitter so that you can go out for dinner? With the kids being such good sleepers, one overnight would probably be very doable. Now that Jaxton is three, a nursery school two mornings a week would be great for his socialization and would help with his speech and vocabulary. Kids can only play with trucks and construction equipment for so long.
I would agree with you. You can't rely on family all the time.
She’s just doing what Missy and Brian always did in California. They would go on trips or out to eat and leave the boys with Mimi and papa. They do seem like a really close family, so maybe they don’t mind?Hopefully they are able to say something when it doesn’t work for them.
Really? They’ve lived isolated from family for a couple years and got by. Of course it’s nice to have family close by and a good reason to move, but clearly they made it work without.

How about minding your business, some people don’t trust their children to strangers, I certainly don’t and I don’t have parents to babysit so we rarely get to go out without our youngest..

I got a babysitter for my kids at that age for a night out and sometimes for the day so could do my shopping. Putting your son in school a few hours wouldn't hurt. He needs to socialize with kids and would I'm sure enjoy it. It seems like you and Misty really rely on your parents alot. I'm just saying it doesn't make you a bad parent to get some time away. It's good for a marriage and kids.
