if you install flooring in a kitchen, should you install it under where cabinets will be?
that would be easier to do the floor first, if you do the floor after you will have to cut scotia boards to cover the small gaps around every single cabinet corner. I'd rather pay for a tiny bit more wood and put the cabinets on top of the floor, and not dick around with all the 45 degree angle scotia
Best use DMX 2.0 on top of concrete flooring in basements when laying a new floor, you want to help control moisture more so in older homes. Make sure you educate yourself well as products do change…..be an educated home owner before attempting any project.

Is glueing the groves correct?
Great question, Stela. You would apply glue to the grooves for a floating installation. Looking at the time stamp 2:27, you can see us reference glue and groove placement. Good luck with your project!💙
Remember to keep your joints tight.

What's the typical cost to get someone to do this for you? I don't have a circular saw or jigsaw. Might be cheaper to get someone to do this.
Flooring installation cost can vary highly based on your location, square footage and house. That said, the cost of the labor will most certainly be higher than the cost of a circular saw or jigsaw.
Lowe's, are you trying to get me to purchase some equipment to do my flooring? I see you, I see you. Actually...
@@lego4virgo It's pretty obvious that labor > buying parts to do it yourself. I've had ranges from $1500 - $10k to install on my 1100sqft home.
@@abaraniba Mine would be less than that..much less, so I'd probably be in the $1500k ball park. It's also about the time to take to do it, and the cost of making mistakes as a first time DIY vs. a seasoned pro--which is worth the price?
@@lego4virgo I've been reading and researching a lot of books on real estate investing and rental properties. There was an interesting article I read on "price vs cost." Price = Would you rather pay cheap, but eventually have issues in the future and pay more? Cost = Or would you rather pay a little more the 1st time, get it right, then never have to worry about it again? All up to you, how much money you have, debt you want to deal with, or take it as a learning experience?
