We really miss Bill. He was a friend to many model railroaders in the Michigan area, and one of the nicest and friendliest people you will ever meet. God bless you, Bill.
Very nice looking layout. It’s refreshing to see a city scene that isn’t dilapidated. So many modelers these days get caught up in the attempt to make everything look like it’s ready to be condemned. Again, very nice
Sorry to hear about Bill's passing. My condolences to his family. Enjoyed the many Western Pennsylvania operating seccions at the Batavia, Illinois model railroad club. He was one of the pioneers in kit bashing freight cars.
Thanks for checking in, Roger. I met Bill through the NMRA. When we moved from New Jersey to Michigan, Bill invited us to a barbecue at his house to meet other local modelers. A great guy for sure.
I am so glad this showed up in my Brouse! The buildings and weathering are absolutely amazing; and that inside, double tracked freight house is exquisite! I may have to take artistic license and include a similar version of it on my D&RGW home layout! Well done on everything including the "moving picture" show. Very inspirational! Thanks. OK, back to watching this again.
At the 3:56 min point could you please tell me what are the overhead wires that hang across the tracks from pole to pole ? Beautiful work, thank you for sharing. Jim
Jim, thanks for checking in and leaving a comment. I see that Ken has already given you the info on telltales, and I thank him for that. A nice railroad detail, depending on the time period that you model.
This layout was on my bucket list because he modeled the area I grew up in. Was sorry to hear of his passing. Where is it located? Nice still photos at the beginning. Was hoping to see more trains running. That last train you showed running was a nice one to end with. Thanks for sharing.
There is something to keep in mind with collecting and building a model railroad. This can be described using the acronym TABLE, what will your family do with your Trains After & Beyond your Life Expectancy? No matter what your age, death is something a person needs to plan ahead for to ease your families loss. Having a relationship with the Savior, Jesus is a good start.
As of now, we plan on having Bill's layout open for viewing as part of the 2025 NMRA national convention in Novi, MI. That may be your last chance to see it in person.

I agree on all fronts, Andy.
Prayers for the family, may God bring comfort and wisdom to all his loved ones left behind.
Great layout !. I really like how engine area and others have the tracks buried.
Thanks for checking in, David.

Thanks for checking in, Jim!
Bill was certainly a skilled modeler. Simply a beautiful layout and so detailed.
A very impressive layout for sure, roger. It is filled with terrific models and great scenery. Thanks for stopping in!
Thanks, Bruce. A nice assortment of images and video clips.🙂 Andy
Thank you, Andy.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it, Randall.
Beautiful layout. Lots of good detailed scenes and nice scenery too. My condolences to his family on his passing.
It is indeed a beautiful layout, Rick.

Agreed! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Gorgeous model railroad. !
It is indeed. Thanks for checking in.

That is a telltale. Back in the days when brakemen had to be on top of the car, the telltale would remind them to duck down for a bridge or tunnel.

Thanks for checking in. Bill's layout is in S.E. Michigan. In the future I will try to get more 'trains in action' videos when I visit layouts.
What are the plans for Bill's layout?
🤠👋🚂🗯
I'm really not sure. Thanks for checking in.

@@BrianF-ug2ne Thanks for that info, Brian.
I could have used more trains in action? 😅 that was a killer/long train! Beautiful layout
I should go back and count the cars in that train. It just kept coming and coming.🙂
