That's not a bad town. There isn't trash, and the streets are well maintained. Newer houses have been built, and the abandoned houses aren't in terrible condition. This town looks like it could make a comeback with the right investment and job opportunities.
,,," and in the eyes of the people, there is the failure, and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath"...J. Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath....another superb video...bravo!!
As with most places, you've got the good and the bad. Some places looked to be somewhat dreary. St Mary's Church is a Beautiful Structure. Thank you for sharing!😀😃😄
Why is this town so economically depressed? Was it the steel industry, mining; what collapsed? The town is dying yet they built a new housing area in the face of that. It’s so sad and depressing.
It was the decline of steel. There were quite a lot of plants and smaller mills that serviced the steel industry here. Situated on the banks of the Ohio River (you may have noticed "The Bottoms" an area of mixed residential/light industrial use that floods often), it is quite near to rail centers, Neville Island, where a lot of barges and tow boats were produced and though it doesn't show up is very near to downtown Pittsburgh. The Rocks is, and always has been a tough little town that punched bigger than its weight!
My reason for following is a fascination/obsession with "dwellings" especially the humble kind. A wish that everyone should have an abode, no matter how simple. Seeing these derelict houses is sad. What stories the walls could tell. I enjoy the rides through these towns. 👍🏻
It looks like a well kept community overall despite its socioeconomic problems. Most houses are in good repair and the streets are well maintained and clean.
Thank you for no narration and no music. Also for the fascinating videos. Stay safe out there.
Thank you so very much !

Contraily, the abandoned houses are in such bad shape they can't be renovated. Most are complete tear downs.

This looks fine! I've been through towns ten times worse. Nice neat downtown, even the "bad" parts don't look horrible. Good video!

I have 25 years with the phone company and work on every one of these streets. Never felt the slightest bit unsafe.
I mean, its deffo seen better days but it's clean, there's businesses still operating and people still living there.

Thanks so much John, youre the best!
It seems it's never too hard to find towns like this in PA. Nobody around, almost like a ghost town but I have seen much worse.
Thank you for this video. I recognize Race St. where my late grandparents lived. Sad to see the crumble

That town was so charming.
I’ve lived here my whole life, it’s only gotten worse as the years have gone on
nice one, thank you. The huge churches must have looked fantastic in their day.

My hometown
Bro that's crazy I used to live in that neighborhood
Quiet place I love these kind of towns
Come to Niagara Falls NY, the rough hood by the falls.
Niagra Falls will be up on the channel soon!
A lot of channels like this pop up at me, with a ton of videos like this. What happened to America and why is everything so neglected and abandoned?
Looks like it’s looking a little better than it used to?
Aw wow finally a few people on the streets
columbus is waiting on you
wow small though
It’s a neighborhood just outside of Pittsburgh, not really a small town
Thank you for an interesting tour
thanks for watchin!
