SPOILERS He went to try to get into the Bermuda triangle, i think 20 years ago??? And must have got caught in the one of the crazy stuff that happens that causes alot of boats to get shipwrecked, Bermuda was known to be a place to be impossible to get into, and the Doctor from the 1st movie found him and he had gotten amnesia from his experience at the Triangle, seems like the Doctor was raising him and taking care of an amnesiac Fester, and it was by chance they met Tully, the Addam's douche-jerk lawyer who wants to be rid of them and get their wealth Douchey. They got lucky that Tully knew the doctor that had found Fester and was using him like, a bouncer i guess? Or like a henchman.
What happened was this, Fester and Gomez got into a fight because Gomez in a fit of pride wooed the Amor twins, Flora and Fauna. Even though he knew Fester liked them more. Fester left and to clear his head of the matter, went to the one place not even an Addams could reach, the Bermuda triangle. Due to some unfortunate circumstances he got caught in a tuna net and lost his memory. Abigail Craven aka Dr. Pitner Schloss, discovered him, took care of him and when she realized how strong and durable he was, she convinced him that she was his mother and used him as the muscle for their scams and loan sharks. Tully, The Addams accountant, borrowed money from them and tried to persuade the Addams into lending him the amount to pay them back. But due to his own selfish pride, he didn't just ask for it. (Seriously, the Addams may be scary and harm people/each other for kicks, but they are the most financially generous people in the world. Had he asked them there wouldn't be a movie.) When his time was up, Fester, now Gordon was gonna do unspeakable things. When he realized that Gordon looked like Fester, that's when their scheme began. Which in turn brought Fester back into the family.
Two things I loved: - Fester telling Pugsley which poison was best to use while Wednesday was tied up struggling. - Morticia stopping Wednesday after seeing her with the knife just so that she can hand Wednesday a larger blade.
After finishing Wednesday, I just had to come back and acknowledge how much of a powerhouse Raul Julia was. What an amazing actor, his Gomez is perfect

Every actor in this movie that was an adams was out standing There will never be an other Adam's family as good as this one deserves an award and a half 👏
Christopher Lloyd is often overlooked but he’s phenomenal. Raul Julia is incredible but Lloyd helps him shine. It’s a testament to his portrayal as Fester
Somehow I feel that when he sees the children fence and saying "Bloodshed" to himself and starts to spend quality time with them was a memory flashback of his past...
That part always crack me up big time😂😂 That’s literally me: 50% where I’m eavesdropping on through another room, & 50% of me shouting out loud in the room or at the closed door.
It’s funny how there’s those little moments where the real Fester peaks through without him even realizing it. Like when Pugsly asks which poison to use and Fester immediately knew to pick arsenic. Or how he’s just as enticed by violence and gore as the rest of the family. Or how he know how much explosive to use for blowing up small holes or sheds.

I just love Lloyd's (as well as every body else's) performance in this movie. It's a shame he went a bit overboard in the sequel, but at the same time, so did the film itself.
It was a good sequel. More family dynamics, a good premise with Fester, a good subplot with Wednesday as an outcast at camp and a decent villain played by the hilarious Joan Cusack.
@Dadko I always like to see it as Fester being completely himself in the second movie, with his memory fully restored, and this is why he’s kind of different in that one compared to the first movie.

In the 1964 TV series, he was Morticia’s Uncle Fester (family name uncertain), brother of her mother Hester Frump. Starting from the 1991 film adaptation, he became Uncle Fester Addams, Gomez Addams’ brother.
Thats something the new one is missing, that creep factor and complete disregard for feelings unless it is truly of Wednesdays interests. The new one is more show off while being utterly unchanged, like shooting an apple in mid air with a bow into a bullseye and then walking off.
This is what really bothers me, Raul and Anjelica did a wonderful potrayal of Gomez and Morticia their chemistry was superb unlike the casting for Wednesday, they dont even compliment each other just a dead pairing
I'm not sure if this is canon, but I noticed that whenever ma DOES cast a spell it just takes awhile to work. In the second film she goes to Debbie's house and casts a curse. At the end of the film, Debbie's death is very similar to the curse even though the events that transpire seem like a coincidence. So maybe she did cast the spell since in the end they got their money back through actions that transpire in the second act. It depends on if you think magic works instantaneously or through slow modifications of circumstances.
Delayed magic, that makes sense. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for magic to work in certain cases. In that case, I think that the problem was more them being upset that they were kicked out of their home and betrayed by those that they trusted.

Also i thought only the adam tree line is full of monsters and goth ppl and that made them unique!
