0:50 hey hey heyyyy now... That is not an Enterprise beauty shot. That is a K'tinga beauty shot. Glad it was included though, SNW really gave those a glow up just like they did Enterprise.
Yes, I did it on purpose, I also included the farragut combat scene in the other SNW video. The new k'tinga design looks very good but I think it was created for Discovery
Also for the record, initially I had mixed feelings about the way they decided the "nacelles" of the K'tinga were actually guns. Having had some time to adjust though, I think it's a pretty cool adaptation to the source material. Like, hell yeah, they're Klingons, so *of course* the things we thought were engines are actually weapons. They're not explorers, they're warriors.

The lighting and texture in the first space dock scenes are so much better than how dark and reflective it looks later. Only changes I would make to this model is straight pylons like TOS and then making the hull color lighter and less reflective to brighten up the ship.
Let me pitch it to you: What if Hazbin Hotel, but literally triple the musical numbers and no self-control over joining in the song and the lyrics. Honestly it's a great episode just for the first song alone.
I like how all the singing weirds the entire crew out, even _while_ they're singing about how weirded out it makes them. It's a nice touch, really helps to sell that they're essentially being forced into a musical against their will and want it to stop _now_ .
@@MrOmegatronicYeah, the look on Pike’s face at the start is worth the price of admission alone, and when La’an arrived on the bridge during the first song, 💩 got real.
I do say this rendition of her is a far sight more faithful of a modernized retcon than the overstylized... _attempt_ that was in JJ Trek. I am A-OK with this being retconned in over the classic TOS Constitution-class... especially since it makes the TOS movie refit _make sense_ . I thought as it was from the original TOS that it'd make more sense just to build a new ship from scratch.
The ship looks lovely, just wish they wouldn't keep using shadows on her. Let's see the colour, stop making her look dark and broody, bright and gleaming.

1:07 This ship is a Crossfield Class. Despite the segmented saucer section, it actually looks like a Starfleet ship. Why the hell does the Discovery not look like this?
Ironically, it's not a starfleet ship, it's made by Klingon and federation renegades, so maybe they made something similar to a crossfield but not quite the same
It appears to be a kitbashed starship, with some elements of the Crossfield Class (the long, tapered nacelles) that were incorporated into the ship, along with design elements from other Starfleet ships. It’s quite impressive.

Why the heck did they change the neck section to look more curvy in the season 2 version? I'd love some changes towards the TOS Enterprise look as the show progresses, like straight nacelle pylons. But it looks like they're probably going with more of a Kelvin timeline look now.
From what I understand, the idea is to end up somewhere in between _TOS_ and Kelvin Enterprises, so that it looks like a modern take on the classic design, but also one that could plausibly be refitted to look almost exactly like the original at some point in the future.

Seems like im the only one who don't like the grey dirty look of the ship and in general. Just make it white like the original
I think it depends on the lighting because in some scenes (like when she's in planetary atmosphere) it looks light grey
The original was battleship grey. It was grey until TMP. That's when they made the hull white.
