This is one of my favorite videos I've ever published 🥹 It was so much fun filming with my friend Giulia--how perfect was the name of the wine bar at 11:01?! What do you think of Providencia??
Hi Alex? Today I checked out the Chapalita area. This is the nicest area I have been to thus far in Guadalajara. Maybe a video of this area would be good
I ❤ this type of video. I want to see more of Provi and other areas. Would be great to have apartment tours and/or pricing, grocery stores etc for people, considering it as a neighborhood to live in.
I've lived in GDL for one month now and i really enjoy your neighborhood videos. im looking to get an apartment next month and your videos are helping me decide where to go. i currently live near the intersection of arcos and nino herores. i like it everything i need is close by but i need an apartment
Yes, I would like to spend more time getting to know Chapalita!

😯👉I'am from Guadalajara, graduated from UAG School of Medicine. Back in the day, this area was kind of my way back and forth to Med-School campus Providencia. In the last few years I have taken my friends from Sweden, Denmark, Norway & Germany to visit this city district, and they liked Providencia and Terranova as well. They also loved that linear Park ‘’Camellón Pablo Neruda'' 🌳🌳🌳 You were pretty close to my house in 👉 1:52 'Colinas de San Javier' I have Los Colomos as my next door neighbour and as my back yard too 🌲🌲
I lived in Providencia for about 2 years before moving to Vancouver- near Punto Sao Paolo - total flash back watching this video! I miss it and hope to be able to go back one day and buy or rent a place there...
Absolutely right; Providencia it is the best neighborhood to live. A lot of parks, coffee shops, restaurants… all packed in a friendly little town vibe.
I adore the Ladrón de Guevara neighborhood because it retains its residential character while being close to the Colonia Americana. It has broad boulevards with medians and ramrods full of trees. It's also one of the areas in Guadalajara with houses in a design that I haven't seen anywhere else: they are raised above the street level by more than a meter and have walls made of slatted volcanic stone. That, I suppose, is done to prevent local floods.
I would check out inmubles 24 to start getting an idea of the rental market in Provi. Like my friend Giulia said in the video, lofts/studios start around $10,000 MXN.
Bless 😄❤️
A friend of mine recommended that spot & when we walked by, there was a looooong line outside! I will definitely need to check it out next time I’m in Providencia 🥰
If you Ever want to come and visit Cocula on a Sunday I will more that happy to show you around... You can see live Mariachi and try the best Birria around town..
La colonia "Colinas de la Normal" te gustará. Tiene muchos jardines , puedes moverte en bicicleta, está cerca del centro (escuelas, hospitales, unidades deportivas, templos, mercados) , clase media tradicional, muy bonita.
I’ve lived in GDL/Zapopan for almost 8 years, in Providencia 3rd section for 2 of those years. People should keep in mind that “Providencia” is HUGE and divided up into many “secciones” and a car would be suggested for most, at least IMO. Also, it seems peaceful, but there have been waves of street crime and robberies over my time here, a few very well known. Oh, and please don’t help normalize the term “Provi”, it is SO gringo, in a bad way.
Wow 😮 😮!! Thanks for an excellent video and indeed a most informative and insightful view of a top tier city! Sectional city break down! The lost Atlantis of the new found world perhaps! Or did the Spaniards help to establish it back in 1500’s ??!! 😂😂
Americana is a good neighborhood if your in your early 20's, ok with a lot of noise, and like to party. Anywhere else in GDL is a better choice if that isn't you.
"Hello Alex, if you compare Querétaro and Guadalajara, which do you consider better for living with my wife and children, considering growth, safety, and everything necessary to raise a family? Thank you very much." the economic part is not an issue
Both have a lot to offer--it depends on if your family prefers cities or want something a bit smaller. Queretaro might be more comfortable if you want somewhere quieter, but Guadalajara has lots of activities if you're a family that likes to get out a lot.
I wonder what all the men sitting down at the Punto Sao Paolo restaurant would think if ladies asked for a table in between them. I have been there before and it seems like it's male territory and the waiter would try and sit you elsewhere...lol
I found Colonia Americana super disappointing. We stayed in Santa Tere for a month last year. I saw two bad bike wrecks being attended to by ambulances while there. Maybe wear a helmet.
Go home you illegal invadirs you destroy mexico and displace mexicans you dont pay taxes here we dont want you , its illegal maling this videos to bring illegal invadora
Providencia Chapalita Country Americana Arcos Vallarta Seattle Ciudad del Sol Las Fuentes Zona Real Colomos... All the neighborhoods above are too cool. There is more life after Americana.

Giulietta? Serendipity! 😅
@@miguel-h right?! Too perfect!
Considering finding a place there
Having lived there for five years, Providencia remains my favorite neighborhood due to its excellent location and beautiful lush surroundings.
It's so green over there--especially after all the rain we've had!
Do you have any advice how to look for a house or an apartment there? A particular website? Everything I see is so expensive
Hi Alex?
Today I checked out the Chapalita area. This is the nicest area I have been to thus far in Guadalajara. Maybe a video of this area would be good
Chapalita is lovely! Great suggestion!
Estoy de acuerdo!
@@alex-wittman yes please 🙏
It always depends for who. For retirees it's not bad, but it's also quite expensive. But appears to be much safer than most of Mexico.
I ❤ this type of video. I want to see more of Provi and other areas. Would be great to have apartment tours and/or pricing, grocery stores etc for people, considering it as a neighborhood to live in.

Chapalita is also a very nice neighborhood, greetings from La Paz. BCS

Colinas de San Javier is a beautiful neighborhood with some incredible homes!
Providencia looks like a pretty area with nice shopping and eating choices, thanks for the tour!
Love the focus on neighborhoods. You two brought such a good commentary as well. Great video!
Thanks for watching!
It looks super cute , I’m sure. I love the different feels of each part of town. Like your friend said, it seems like there is something for everyone.
Yes, Guadalajara has something for everyone!

What was so good about providencia? Is that the best neighborhood in Guadalajara to move to if you factor in price, safety, etc?
Absolutely right; Providencia it is the best neighborhood to live. A lot of parks, coffee shops, restaurants… all packed in a friendly little town vibe.
Excelente información, presentada con la gracia y estilo habituales, ¡gracias Alex!
Gracias por ver, Dave!
Loved this video. Very helpful and hope to see more!
👍 keep showing the city
I hope to do more of these neighborhood tours around Guadalajara!
@@alex-wittman good and you don’t see much of that in Guadalajara as opposed to Mexico City videos so it’s something untapped
I'm a local here in Guadalajara and I can confirm that Gaspar's burgers are the best!!! The one with habanero (Del Chef burger) YUM! 🖤

I would check out inmubles 24 to start getting an idea of the rental market in Provi. Like my friend Giulia said in the video, lofts/studios start around $10,000 MXN.

There is this bakery/cake place in providencia. It’s so delicious. I recommend you check it out. It’s called “Florence Providencia”

Saludos de Michigan. I’ve been to Guadalajara before but now after watching this video I’m anxious to go there. Getting tired of the Bucerias scene.

Cool video Alex. Thank you
Thanks for watching, JP!
Now I'm craving some Tacos Providencia lol if you haven't tried them, they're on Av. Ruben Dario
I'm sold!!!!
Looks like a nice area! How was the sourdough? 👀
The sourdough was ❤️🔥 will def be buying again!

lol nobody says Provi, we all say Providencia. In my opinion is the best area, or maybe La Calma
I was cringing at that 😂

Nice video. Is the elevation an issue for breathing?
I haven’t had an issue with elevation per se, but air quality is sometimes not the best.
Americana is a good neighborhood if your in your early 20's, ok with a lot of noise, and like to party. Anywhere else in GDL is a better choice if that isn't you.
I love visiting Americana to meet up with friends, but I don’t think I could live there 😅
Which is a good neighborhood for families that is safe, but not super expensive?
@@luperamos7307probably any coto (gated community), not sure any relatively cheap street facing home or building be safer
I’ve been in Guadalajara twice. There’s this restaurant called La Chata that I really like, but I don’t know what neighborhood it’s in. Any clues?
It looks like there are a couple different locations. One is in Terranova near Providencia & another is in Centro.
Go to Zapopan Andares
I've been--very impressive!

Does this area have little markets, butchers, fruterías?
This colonia is completely self-sufficient. You can find everything you need!
Use tacos as a rating system rather than estrellas
Thanks for the suggestion!
3:56 not Megacable 😆
😂😂😂😂
Providencia is a beautiful neigborhood if you dont mind your car being stolen every other week and robbers on bikes.
I found Colonia Americana super disappointing. We stayed in Santa Tere for a month last year. I saw two bad bike wrecks being attended to by ambulances while there. Maybe wear a helmet.
Do watch out for anti-bike, pro-sprawl karens tho. I've got a few videos of SUV's being aggressive for no reason.
Aguascalientes is a really beautiful city. And I don't see videos talking about...
I've heard good things, but I haven't had the chance to visit yet!
