I have a sample and I really like it, when I have very very sensitive day (when even touching my face hurts) it stings a little bit but otherwise it's very soothing :D I love your videos because you show the application and consistency of a product which is very important for me
And btw I like what you mention about sunscreen indoors - I think it's an exaggeration to put sunscreen on (and keep on reapplying) if one only is indoors all day! A bit obsessive, tbh.
Hello Melissa, can you use Cica Cera (moisturizer by Skintegra) before Cicaplast baume SPF50+ during the day? My face is red and with a slight burning feeling after cleansing it, because I switched to tretinoin 0.05% (my derm told me to, I didn't do it on my own). I'm just doing 2 days a week of tretinoin (for now). I don't sunbathe and have a night shift. So my routine for now is: AM: - Non-irritating Vit. C (Superba C, Skintegra) - Calming moisturizer (Cica Cera, Skintegra) - Sunscreen (today I started using Cicaplast baume SPF50+ as sunscreen, because my skin needs it) PM: - When I have to use tretinoin, it is a compound formula with 0.05% tret + 10% niacinamide and a thick base cream (Beeler). I don't use anything else those 2 nights. - On the nights I'm not using tret: I just got Lunar serum (by Skintegra) and was planning on using it + Cicaplast Baume at night. (Cicaplast Baume or Cica Cera again, I don't know which of the 2 is more potent or useful in my case) I apply Cica Cera before Cicaplast baume SPF50+ because the baume is much thicker than Cica Cera. I'm doing it OK, right? Thanks a lot! :)
Well, when using tretinoin, I personally recommend simplifying your routine. AM Routine: Clean your face with a mild cleanser suitable for your skin type. Pat dry. Apply sunscreen (only if you'll be exposed to sunlight; if not, just leave your face as is). PM Routine (on days using tretinoin): Clean your face with a mild cleanser that's suitable for your skin type. Pat dry. Wait for 15 minutes. (This waiting period is beneficial as it allows the skin to restore some of its natural oils.) Apply tretinoin. Be cautious to avoid the eyelids, corners of the eyes, nose, and lips. PM Routine (for days NOT using tretinoin): Clean your face with a mild cleanser suitable for your skin type. Pat dry. If you prefer, you can apply your moisturizer. For the initial weeks, I'd suggest staying away from any other actives. This helps minimize the chances of irritation and sensitivity, ensuring you get the full benefits of tretinoin.
😃... hoi Melissa... I like this product quite a lot. I personally use the version with SPF 50. In the fall/ winter time ... Hey! Yes, that's fine! However, your mum can also use it like this: PM1: Lactic Acid, Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Retinol Serum PM2: Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Buffet + Copper Peptides Alternate between the different PM routines. She can use Lactic Acid and Retinol in the same routine if that's fine for her skin since it is a low strength Retinol. However, if sensitivity/irritation occurs - keep them separate. I do have clog prone skin so I avoid the oily parts and just use it to soothe the overuse on acne treatments and so far I’m relived can I use this only 2 times a week since I am clogg prone and scared to breakout
Well, you can use it as often as you feel the need, but remember it's a very thick cream, so it can easily clog pores, especially in the oilier areas of your face where you are already prone to acne. Apart from that, it's meant for dry patches and cracked skin. 😉
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet ahh perfect I put it on my red iriirtated patches due to retinol and the dry winter air and it’s really nice Should I use it over my moisturizer cause that’s what I did and people say it’s a occlusive so don’t use it with adapelene as it can cause more irritation
@@Zander.Toledo Well, technically, it is your moisturizer. However, the concern is that if it's too occlusive, it can form a seal that traps heat underneath. This can cause the retinoid, in this case, adapalene, to induce irritation or sensitivities. Therefore, you should choose moisturizers that are less occlusive and more hydrating. These typically have a higher water content and fewer heavy oils or waxes.

How often you can exfoliate your skin throughout the week, depends on your skin concerns and tolerance. Some people can exfoliate once or twice per day daily whereas others prefer to exfoliate only 2-3 times per week. See what frequency will work best for you. You can also alternate between your PHA Exfoliating Acid Toner and BHA Exfoliant. Alternate between PM 1 and PM 2 for some time and over time you may be able to follow the advanced routine which I only recommend doing if your skin can tolerate it!
I got this cicaplast Baume for my very sensitive skin . It backfired and I started getting these ugly red blotchy bumpy appearance after using it for 2 nights and before I didn't have this . I also know it's cause of this cause my skin was looking smooth before this. I don't blame it on the brand tho I have really sensitive skin,I think I will stick with my CeraVe since it's the only one which doesn't give me a rash and keeps me smooth. It just sucks cause so many recommend for really irritated skin so I thought I was doing my skin a favor.
Hi melissa!! Love the vid:) I bought this product to treat the sensitivity in my cheek area and scars on my forehead. I have combination skin my cheeks are dry and T zone is oily mostly my forehead. I use the inkey list salicylic acid cleanser and cerave moisturiser I also use niacinamide and zinc serum with la roche possays effaclar cream. How can I integrate cicaplast in my routine??
Hey! :) Do you use the Effaclar DUO? Use it in the evening instead of your moisturizer and primarily on your cheeks :) Do you have sensitive skin because of the SA Cleanser and Effaclar Cream or in general?
Hi, thank you for this video, I'm using this product as prescribed by my dermatologist. My skin was very dry due to eczema. I told him that the package says it should not be applied to my eyelids but he demanded that my eyelids need the moisture because it was very dry. But now I can see that the skin on my eyelids is getting weaker because of this balm, I have no idea what else to use on my eyelids because my skin is very sensitive to most products.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Hey, thank you! I've asked him, but he insists that I should continue using the balm for my eyelids as well. Not sure what to use because I'm not comfortable with the effects on my eyelids anymore.
At night i use cerave healing ointment or good ole Vaseline around eyes . During the day i use mineral sunscreen around eyes Vanicream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ or Australian Gold Botanical Sunscreen Tinted Face Mineral Lotion SPF 50 then i don’t use foundation . Doesn’t burn eyes and moisturizes at same time
For me I'm having irritatation and dryness around the nose area, mouth and also around my eye area. But you said not to use it around the eyes, what should I do in this case. And if I don't use it around the eyes, will Tue dryness and irritation still end?
Also just to add here, I never had this type of skin sensitivity. I think it's sun burn, I'm from Kenya I came to Switzerland this summer and I could just notice how my face started to change the dryness, itchiness, dead skin and all its driving me crazy!!!😫😫😫I really really hope this product will help.
I think you may be experiencing this because the weather is completely different from that in Kenya, so your skin needs some time to adjust. Additionally, if your diet has changed, this could also have a significant impact on your skin. In that case, your skin may need time to adapt, or you might not tolerate something in your new diet. You can still use that cream on your face, but I do not recommend applying it on your eyelids. Alternatively, you could ask the pharmacist for Bepanthen.
Great video as usual😊. I am using the LRP with SPF in the mornings. Is it okay to use a different moisturizer e.g Cerave moisturizing cream in the evenings?
Yes, you can use it after, but keep in mind that it is a treatment designed for dry, irritated skin, and not for oily, acne-prone skin. If you use it on oily, acne-prone skin, it may worsen the condition.
Hello Ambata, Yes, that is correct. However, how do you feel about your morning routine? Isn't it too much when using Hyaluronic Acid + the baume + an additional sunscreen? From my experience, it works best without the baume in the morning, or by using their gel baume formulation instead if you still want to get the benefits.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I just started using it last night. But I guess I’ll be using the Baume in the night since you said it will be too much if I use it in the morning and night. 😅 one more thing, during night routine, can I use this? PM1: hylauronic + niacinamide + retinol + LRP Baume B5 PM2: glycolic + hyaluronic + niacinamide + LRP baume b5 And is it okay to apply the LRP baume Every night? along with the retinol or glycolic toner with hyaluronic & niacinamide or it will be too much? @@ambatafamily6927 Yes, this can work. However, remember that it always depends on your skin tolerance so you have to test it and adjust it overtime :)
Hi Melissa, can you do one review of the Cicaplast gel one? And maybe also te us if we can use more actives with it, such as hyaluronic acid or niacinamide or vitamin c etc? I would really really appreciate it
Well, technically yes, and you would use it before the balm. Still, keep in mind that the balm does nothing for acne. It is meant for dry, cracked skin, not for oily, acne-prone skin, despite what some people may suggest.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet yes i have damaged skin barrier. Also Can i use my regular moisturizer together with this? And last question should i wash it off if i will be putting sunscreen or not?
@@pettieflores3454 This is your regular moisturizer, so there's no need to add more. Clean your face, pat it dry, apply The Ordinary Niacinamide, then apply the balm. However, if your skin barrier is severely damaged, I would suggest skipping the Niacinamide serum, as it may be too potent. Here's the modified routine: clean your face, pat it dry, then apply the balm.
@@pettieflores3454 Of course not, you would layer it on top, however, the balm doesn't layer particularly well under sunscreen. However, they do offer a version of the balm with SPF. Hello Sum; I think you are overusing them! How often do you use them? And what else are you using? Also, do you have a gentler cleanser and a light hydrating serum and/or moisturizer at home?
@@sumhussein2812 Yes, that is way too much. You either need to reduce the frequency of using Effaclar Duo or get a moisturizer that can help hydrate your skin, such as G&G Hydration Station or Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel. Hello again ;) I started using this baume at night to help my dry, tight and eczema-prone skin, and have been wondering one thing. I have been told to only cleanse my face once a day (at night) and use only water in the morning. My question is: Do I have to wash off Cicaplast baume with a cleanser in the morning? Or is rinsing with water enough? I mean, I don't think water alone removes Cicaplast baume, but how bad would it be to leave this baume on the face and then adding sunscreen? I don't want to irritate my face further cleansing twice a day (even if I use this very gentle cleanser Toleriane, the creamy one). Again, thank you very much for your wisdom! ;)
Hey! :) It mainly depends on how much you use and how much residue you will have the following day. If your skin 'absorbs' pretty much all of it, you can just wash your face with water. However, if you feel a heavy residue still on the skin by the following day, it's best to remove it with a cleanser.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I've been testing Cicaplast at night for over 10 days and I see that my skin absorbes it all, wow! :O No residue left in the morning whatsoever! My skin must be really thirsty... So I'm now experimenting with adding a simple hyaluronic acid serum + argan oil before Cicaplast, to see if this can give an extra boost to my dry & mature skin (I like argan oil on my skin and wanted to include it too as antiaging, etc.). So I'm mixing a bit of the hyaluronic serum with 2-3 drops argan oil, pat it on my skin and then add Cicaplast once the serum&oil are absorbed. Do you think that makes sense? I'm wondering if it's not a good idea to add the oil before Cicaplast (with the theory that you need to add oils last or they'll block absorption of other products)? Definitely not adding after Cicaplast, as that baume is so thick. Thanks a lot for your savy advice! 😊
@@Hvitlys Oh great! :) In your case, I would probably go with an Amino Acid-based serum (like The Ordinary Amino Acid Serum) to rebuild/strengthen your skin barrier instead of a Hyaluronic Acid Serum. I'm not sure if using your Hyaluronic Acid Serum and mixing it with the Oil will mix well...I would layer them (same with Amino Acids) instead of mixing them, this way they can better absorb into the skin. Also, in most cases, you are going to use plant oils before Moisturizer.
hi i also have eczema with very sensitive and dry skin!! if the cicaplast is still on the next day and you want to remove the white cast i'd suggest cetaphil sensitive skin cleanser or the vanicream cleanser. they are both very mild non foaming formulas (no fragrance, no dyes etc) my dermatologist recommended those two and washing my face twice a day with them does not irritate my skin or leave it feeling tight. ofc it is different for everyone so try testing them out first!! they are both affordable. i hope ur eczema gets better
Hi! Im currently under a tretinoin based treatment, because i have a really bad, acneic skin. My dermatologist recommended the LaRoche Posay effaclar cleanser, which i'm using every morning and evening, before applying anything on my face. I need to use the tretinoin cream every night (or every 2nd night). Unfortunately my skin started to dry, to be very itchy and red, i know these are the common side effects of tretinoin, and with time, they will dissapear hopefully, but my skin hurts so bad even with moisturizing (im using the vichy normaderm phytosolution moisturizer). My question is, can I use the Cicaplast Baume to reduce the irritation and the dryness of my skin, or you just don't recommend it? (i thought before moisturizing in the morning, and before applying the treatment every night i could use it).
Please stop using Vichy's moisturiser. That one contains 2% of Salicylic Acid, which is an exfoliant, and this increases the risk of irritation while using Tretinoin. If your skin hurts and itches that badly, give your skin a break and use Tretinoin less often. You can use a moisturiser in the morning and evening when not using Tretinoin. As for a moisturiser, you can use La Roche Posay Cicaplast Cream, this can work well, but you need to make sure that it won't worsen your skin since you already have acne-prone skin. Another option would be CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion.
Use a more gentle cleanser with the skin... Like Cerave foaming cleanser, Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser or Sensibio gel moussant... Effaclar is very drying!
@@jostinquiles622 Thank you! I assumed that the cleanser is going to be the problem over here, because my skin is always so dry, way too dry. @@susy4511 I recommend using something lighter like The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors or NIOD Hydration Vaccine. Both are great for strengthening and rebuilding your skin barrier :) As for your pimples, I recommend paying attention to what's causing them. If they only come once per month, well, yes, you know why. However, what I have noticed over the last months is that whenever I eat raw fruit, primarily berries it triggers my acne. Also, I think the same is the case with raw vegetables. I am not sure if it is the sugar triggering the acne, or if it is because they are heavily sprayed or maybe a combination of both. Whenever I stop doing this, it becomes better. The same goes for several types of food which are packaged in plastic boxes, as I like to eat chicken and turkey a lot. I have recently come across tests showing that they are heavily coated with antibiotics, preservatives, etc, which may or may not be an issue when washing them or cooking them because of the heat. Still, these are all factors you need to consider. And I am thinking more and more that this is the main reason for my acne. Hi! I bought this cicaplast baum for my skin barrier damage but it stings and burns! Why? My skin stings, itchy and dry like in every skin damage. What's the problem with this? I read everywhere is for the irritation and calm. I don't feel my skin calm. Or this is the first day and it needs some day to calm down because my skin is damaged? Thank you!
How did the damage to your skin barrier happen? Did it happen recently? Was there something you did, or has the weather changed dramatically in your area etc.? 🤔 And a little bit of stinging or burning after the application is not a reason for concern if it only stays for a few moments and after feels calming on the skin!
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I didn't care about cleaning and the right skin routin. I use soap, and cremes, make ups with alcohol, alcohol denat and parfume, wash my face more than two with water in one day, and I don't use moisturizer or cicaplast. That's a long term habits and now realized something is wrong. I never had problem with my face skin before. I'm thinking about something. I started to use a new sunscreen Altruist face fluid which is Waterproof. After I wash it, my face was a little bit red. Maybe Niacinamide? I dunno. I cleaned it with two step: first Garnier the pink one and then a gently water based cleanser Jelly Joker. Maybe Garnier is not enough for a stabil waterproff sunscreen and something sunscreen stay on my face? Cause I feel something and then the cicaplast stings and burns. Maybe I need to buy a two phase oil micellar water or and oil base cleanser for Waterproof stuffs and not the pink Garnier?
So if the problem started with that sunscreen, it is likely the sunscreen that is causing the issues. Many chemical sunscreens lead to issues in sensitive skin types. So what about changing it to a mineral SPF to see if the problem is still occurring before buying additional products? 🤔 Or yes, if you think that the cleansers are the issue, buy a gentle balm to remove it example, The Ordinary Squalane cleanser. But what is currently happening is that lots of people have issues with their skin because of the dramatic weather's ups and downs, but that should only last temporarily.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet No, it's not started with sunscreen. As I write I had a skin barrier damage. In this situation the skin is very sensitive. Maybe my healthy barrier doesn't react to Altruist. I don't know yet. It's sensitive for everything now, calm products too. Mineral spf is not too good for make up and normal life to me. So I hope my skin will repair and the problem will disappear. Before this I don't have sensitive skin. Now I think the hype for La Roche posay cicaplast in barrier problem is interestintg to me. Not so effective to me. Maybe later. Hydratiton is important to me now. So I try the Cerave moisturize with ceramides.
So, I recommend just washing your face with water (you can use a very soft washcloth (makeup cloth) to wash your face without using soap) and then following with hydration/moisturizer afterwards like a hydrating toner/serum (Geek & Gorgeous Liquid Hydration or TO Marine Hyaluronics) and/or CeraVe moisturizer.
i currently use a bland moisturizer, cetaphil moisturizer due to the fact that i’m getting used to retinol in my skincare routine. i was wondering should i use the cicaplast baume after or before my moisturizer?
I bought it and tried it .now its day 4 ,i feel like my skin hydrating and my skin absorbed it completly ,do i have dry skin ? Bc i can't feel the product once i aplied it ,no shine ,its like i did not put anything
Hey! :) You could have dry skin, or your skin just needed what the cream provides. Glad to hear that you like it and that your skin feels good afterwards! :)
What La Roche Posay Moisturiser with SPF do you use? You probably just want to use your moisturiser with SPF during daytime and in the evening Cicaplast.
@@flavialaera You can try it. However, I wouldn't recommend it. If you have oily acne-prone skin you want to improve your acne while regulating your oily skin and improve possibly post-acne marks. In that case, I recommend looking into a 4% or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser or 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser or Leave-On Exfoliant as well as Niacinamide and/or a low strength Retinol or Adapalene (Differin Gel). As for hydration, I recommend something lightweight like a Hyaluronic Acid serum (Vichy Mineral 89) or Essence (Snail Essence, Hyaluronic Acid Essence or Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner) and SPF during daytime.
i have acne prone and oily(ish) skin but I was wondering if I could just use this in little amounts on the areas that I have acne in my night time routine?

Hello 😃 The skin is damp after you wash your face, even if you pat it dry. It includes a lot of dimethicone, but if you can blend it properly, yes, why not. 😃
Balm. Is better applied on dry skin. But cream & lotion applied on damp skin right after shower, dripping wet it locks moisture. But balm like vaseline doesn't work if applied on wet/damp face after toner/ essence. Same goes with lipikar la roche posay ap+m I use on dry skin. Works like a sealant on my skin. But cerave cream I used on damp/ even wet. Hope this helps
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet sorry just changed my name, I have normal skin but more on the oily side. I have alot of blackheads and clogged pores around my nose. I usually always breakout on my chin and I have marks left. I heard the SA is good for blackheads and the pores. I’ve tried niacinamide and I feel like it made it worse with new spots after the use of it.
Yes, this can work. However, if your blackheads are deeper into the skin, it's best to extract them and maintain them with a Salicylic Acid cleanser or leave-on exfoliant. Hi! I’m currently on accutane for hormonal acne. :( Do you think I should be using products like The Ordinary’s glycolic acid toner, niacinamide, alpha arbutin, azelaic acid, etc. or should I just cleanse and moisturize for now? Would like to calm general redness (cheeks) and fade post acne hyperpigmentation. Not sure if I should just wait out the accutane and try and tackle those issues afterwards? Don’t want to dry out my skin more. Also, is there a good moisturizer you can recommend? I feel like most just disappear and leave my skin feeling dry and tight. Thanks in advance! 🤍🙏🏻
Cleanse and moisturize for now and avoid anything that can irritate the skin. My husband took it when he was younger, and he just used a moisturizer during that time so that this Baume may work well. But generally, every traditional moisturizer will do it (Cetaphil Lotion, CeraVe Lotion, La Roche Posay Ultra Creme etc.) However, for the best advice, I recommend asking your doctor.
hellooo, right now my skin is breaking out really badly. I think it's mostly hormonal cause. can I used this product on active acne/irritated area? and can I follow it with a moisturizer if i still feel that my skin is dry ?
Hey! :) Do you currently use something to treat your active acne like a 2% Salicylic Acid or 4-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser? This cream may be too rich (they have a gel version as well). However, you could try it to reduce irritation like redness and inflammation.
i use the effaclar duo salicylic acid spot treatment. As I’m in Europe I can’t find the benzoyl peroxide wash. But if you have any recommendations for products take can help with active acne, please let me know !

Hey! :) I wouldn't do that in the AM. If so, do it in the PM. Still, I don't think that it is going to make a lot of sense to apply your moisturizer and then this one on top, even if you would only use it in some areas. However, you need to test it! :)
I am not sure why that is the case, but I assume that it has something to do with the formulation and that certain ingredients cannot be used around the eyes. And generally, the formulation is heavy when used around the eyes, so it does not feel comfortable. Apply it to dry skin, or just as I showed in the video :)
I wonder why nobody asked about flakes you see after applying b5 on skin. Whenever I apply b5 rub it to make it absorb into the skin it starts creating small particles like peel of cleansers do.
So my routine for now is:
AM:
- Non-irritating Vit. C (Superba C, Skintegra)
- Calming moisturizer (Cica Cera, Skintegra)
- Sunscreen (today I started using Cicaplast baume SPF50+ as sunscreen, because my skin needs it)
PM:
- When I have to use tretinoin, it is a compound formula with 0.05% tret + 10% niacinamide and a thick base cream (Beeler). I don't use anything else those 2 nights.
- On the nights I'm not using tret: I just got Lunar serum (by Skintegra) and was planning on using it + Cicaplast Baume at night. (Cicaplast Baume or Cica Cera again, I don't know which of the 2 is more potent or useful in my case)
I apply Cica Cera before Cicaplast baume SPF50+ because the baume is much thicker than Cica Cera. I'm doing it OK, right?
Thanks a lot! :)
Well, when using tretinoin, I personally recommend simplifying your routine.
AM Routine:
Clean your face with a mild cleanser suitable for your skin type.
Pat dry.
Apply sunscreen (only if you'll be exposed to sunlight; if not, just leave your face as is).
PM Routine (on days using tretinoin):
Clean your face with a mild cleanser that's suitable for your skin type.
Pat dry.
Wait for 15 minutes. (This waiting period is beneficial as it allows the skin to restore some of its natural oils.)
Apply tretinoin. Be cautious to avoid the eyelids, corners of the eyes, nose, and lips.
PM Routine (for days NOT using tretinoin):
Clean your face with a mild cleanser suitable for your skin type.
Pat dry.
If you prefer, you can apply your moisturizer.
For the initial weeks, I'd suggest staying away from any other actives. This helps minimize the chances of irritation and sensitivity, ensuring you get the full benefits of tretinoin.

4th night: The ordinary buffet Multi-technology petide serum
5th night: The ordinary lactic acid 10%+ H.A.
And so it goes.

Yes, that's fine!
However, your mum can also use it like this:
PM1: Lactic Acid, Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Retinol Serum
PM2: Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Buffet + Copper Peptides
Alternate between the different PM routines. She can use Lactic Acid and Retinol in the same routine if that's fine for her skin since it is a low strength Retinol. However, if sensitivity/irritation occurs - keep them separate.
Lactic Acid and Buffet + Copper Peptides should not be used together, since they conflict.

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet ahh perfect I put it on my red iriirtated patches due to retinol and the dry winter air and it’s really nice
Should I use it over my moisturizer cause that’s what I did and people say it’s a occlusive so don’t use it with adapelene as it can cause more irritation
The content you provide is very good.I have a question: Can I use the blue B5 serum + B5 cream + CeraVe sunscreen during the day on dry skin? 🥹🥹Please answer me

I think you may be experiencing this because the weather is completely different from that in Kenya, so your skin needs some time to adjust. Additionally, if your diet has changed, this could also have a significant impact on your skin. In that case, your skin may need time to adapt, or you might not tolerate something in your new diet. Yes, of course :) Just give the acid a couple of minutes before layering the baume on top!
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you for the reply I appreciate it. I did it and it's working lovely. Another quick question can I put the cicaplast baume under my eyes? I did it and It's not causing me problems. Thank you again

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you again for replying to me love your channel ❤️ 💕
Hello again ;)
I started using this baume at night to help my dry, tight and eczema-prone skin, and have been wondering one thing.
Again, thank you very much for your wisdom! ;)
Hey! :)
It mainly depends on how much you use and how much residue you will have the following day. If your skin 'absorbs' pretty much all of it, you can just wash your face with water. However, if you feel a heavy residue still on the skin by the following day, it's best to remove it with a cleanser.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Great, thank you! 😊👌🏻👌🏻I'll be observant
In your case, I would probably go with an Amino Acid-based serum (like The Ordinary Amino Acid Serum) to rebuild/strengthen your skin barrier instead of a Hyaluronic Acid Serum.
Hi Melissa 😀 I love the b5 balm, but is it possible that after long term use of this, it is actually drying out my skin?
Hey! :)
What are/were your skin concerns?
What's your skincare routine?
Has the weather recently changed in your area?
Can we use it after operation.i meant the place someone did operation?
I recommend checking this with your doctor :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much!!
Both are great for strengthening and rebuilding your skin barrier :)
As for your pimples, I recommend paying attention to what's causing them.
So probably these are things that you can look into and start changing, which may help to improve it, without the need for so many products.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet yes i start to take notes of what i eat and when i have my breakouts to check if is food realated or a hormonal thing or what, there are so many things😭 I will buy the ordinary moisturizer and try that one, thank you for answering! I will keep this updated

And a little bit of stinging or burning after the application is not a reason for concern if it only stays for a few moments and after feels calming on the skin!
Or yes, if you think that the cleansers are the issue, buy a gentle balm to remove it example, The Ordinary Squalane cleanser.

Hello! I was wondering if it’s okay to use on non dry skin, sounds crazy but I don’t Pat my skin dry, it’s still very damp with water. Do I have to use on dry skin??
@@nancyendary1766 thank you!!
As you know I started using the salicylic acid cleanser, can I pair this moisturiser with it? Xx
Hmm, do you have another account? Since I cannot find you.
What skin type do you have, and why do you use the SA cleanser? 🤔
You can use any skincare product with Cicaplast Baume. However, do you use LRP Cicaplast Baume all over your face or just on acne marks?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet yes I do use the Cicaplast
Baume all over my face, before that I was using the ordinary moisturiser. Thank you for your responses❤️ I appreciate it!
@@serenity9223 Just make sure that using a moisturiser won't make your blackheads worse or even cause them in the first place.
hi, can i you this cream after hyaluronic acid serum?
Yes, that's fine! :)
Can i use this over azaleic acid and retinol?
I think it is too thick. But technically, yes, you can do that; it does not interact in case you meant that.
hay, can i use serum with hyaluronic acid from the ordinary and salicylic acid in morning and niacinamide from the ordinary with retinol in squalane 1% (the ordinary)? plss help
Yes, just keep in mind to start slowly with your retinol.(Especially if you haven't used it before) And also, for a more in-depth guide about the layering, you can watch the following video:

Hi! I’m currently on accutane for hormonal acne. :(
Do you think I should be using products like The Ordinary’s glycolic acid toner, niacinamide, alpha arbutin, azelaic acid, etc. or should I just cleanse and moisturize for now?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much! 🤍🙏🏻
hellooo,
right now my skin is breaking out really badly. I think it's mostly hormonal cause.
can I used this product on active acne/irritated area? and can I follow it with a moisturizer if i still feel that my skin is dry ?
Hey! :)
Do you currently use something to treat your active acne like a 2% Salicylic Acid or 4-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser?
This cream may be too rich (they have a gel version as well). However, you could try it to reduce irritation like redness and inflammation.
i use the effaclar duo salicylic acid spot treatment. As I’m in Europe I can’t find the benzoyl peroxide wash.
But if you have any recommendations for products take can help with active acne, please let me know !
@@hendhegazy4007 Have a look at Amazon or Iherb for a 4%-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser (Panoxyl or Differin).
Still, I think it's best to use a lighter cream.
okayy i will have a look, thank youu ❤️
Hi, I'm sorry but I am a bit slow in processing information so I just want to ask it is okay if I just go on with my morning and evening routine (such as toner, serum, spot treatment etc) and use the LRP cicaplast baume to replace my moisturizer?
what are you trying to do? And what products are you currently using?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet before this i was using the ordinary products, hyaluronic acid, rose hip oil n natural moisturizing factor. The same one for morning routine but without the rose hip oil n adding sunscreen. But my skin become irritating out of sudden, like redness and irritation around nose, my cheeks suddenly drying out and they become red. So, my friend suggest me to use this LRP cicaplast baume but i dont know how to insert it into my routine.
Btw I didn't use any new make up product so I couldnt figure out what cause the irritation.

YOU CAN USE THIS WITH DIFFERIN GEL?
Yes, you can. Just give Differin a couple of minutes to soak fully into the skin before using the balm on top.
Oh okay so I can do the sandwich too with the balm?
@@gissellesmaria960 Differin is usually well-tolerated, so I just would use the Differin gel at first and then follow with the balm.

no
Hi Melissa, thank you for your video. If I want to use Cicaplast only on some areas of my face and not as a moisturizer can I apply after my regular moisturizer and then the suncream? Thank you very much
Hey! :)
I wouldn't do that in the AM. If so, do it in the PM. Still, I don't think that it is going to make a lot of sense to apply your moisturizer and then this one on top, even if you would only use it in some areas. However, you need to test it! :)
hello can we use this after toner and mask and before moistizuer?
Why would you do that? 🤔
Can i pair this with paulas choice bha chemical exfoliatior
Yes :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thankyou
Is this also good to apply if I have cuts on my face?
Well, it contains Panthenol, so it should work.
why can't you apply this on the eyelids..
and.. wet or dry skin?
I am not sure why that is the case, but I assume that it has something to do with the formulation and that certain ingredients cannot be used around the eyes. And generally, the formulation is heavy when used around the eyes, so it does not feel comfortable.
Apply it to dry skin, or just as I showed in the video :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet also would this be good at improving redness around acne, or would it make acne worse?
Hm...I haven't used it on acne spots. It's just too heavy for me. I usually use Bepanthen Cream or COSRX Blemish Cream on my red acne spots :)
Am I the only person that finds no la Roche Posay product moisturizing?

I wonder why nobody asked about flakes you see after applying b5 on skin. Whenever I apply b5 rub it to make it absorb into the skin it starts creating small particles like peel of cleansers do. How are you applying LRP Baume?
Also, are you using any other skincare products before or afterwards?
