Hmm, to a degree I agree with you. When there is a good selection of parts that you will actually use, the PAB will is great. However, similarly to lego sets, when you want detail there is quite a big selection of parts that are needed which the PAB can't supply. The LEGO stores got a pretty limited selection of parts that they can chose from, usually updated 2-4 times a year (at least in Europe). For some parts, like masonry bricks, the PAB wall has been great for me. Other pieces are spending a lot of time laying around, while I have to rely on BrickLink for the majority of pieces that I need.
Love the PAB wall, I try to visit my local store a few times a week. Always some good pieces available, and the value you get from one PAB box if you stack everything is unreal
Ok years ago I bought a half put together Lego Star Wars v-19 torrent and what would be the cheaper option for buying the remaining missing pieces, brick link or the pick a brick wall?

I’d say if you’re just buying a couple of missing pieces, bricklink is the way to go. Because you can customize it to your specific liking. It would end up be more expensive but you’re right, the PAB wall probably won’t have all of them so you really don’t have a choice.

I use Bricklink because the closest Pick a Brick is a four hour drive away and is never remotely stocked, it's atrocious.
That is atrocious… I guess the distance thing is something to consider as well. I do feel like LEGO has been opening more and more stores worldwide so hopefully you’ll get a store that’s closer that has a good selection!
