- Hello beautiful friends. Today I'm taking you along with me to thrift not one but two new thrift stores.
I'm super excited because this thrift store was so sweet and cute. I just wanted everything but we are going to bring home only the things that will serve us well. I wanted to bring in new lighter things for spring time. I'm being patient with the winter to spring transition in terms of finding everything I want to style my home. I hope you find this thrift trip and styling encouraging, so you can go out and do some of your own thrifting.

Definitely a secretary desk.
12:55 that's a candy dish. And the desk is called a secretary. Usually there is a glass cabinet on top where you can display your favorite pieces.

The one that said China cabinet is a Secretary or a writing desk. Places for papers and envelopes, etc.

That wood piece is a 70s monkey pod Lotus serving set. Those bowls are leaves that hook to the large dish. Usually there are 6 small and 6 large bowls.I have one with shell inlay. Beautiful piece.

I’d style the wall with a full length mirror (silver) but hang it horizontal. Good finds!!!

I do feel it's good to branch out and try different colors you're comfortable with. Spring does bring out the beautiful colors and flowers. I would have grabbed some of those items your Grandmother had I love those type if things to layer in decor plus the good memories.

The Penninton planter was probably Ty Penni ngton from designing . I found a couple of pillows by him at GW for $1.99 and they are $30 used online.

Loved this video! It's so true, it's important to be intentional when thrifting. It's easy to see all of these things but it's not really meaningful to just buy it all. You have created a beautiful home for you and your daughters

It’s been awhile since I’ve been there because it’s a little far but that’s a good option. I loved going there for inspiration.
If you will go back.and get those channel crystal.candle sticks I'll buy them from you for a profit. I just bought some kind of short liquor glasses that are channeled like that and these would go perfect with them. PLEASE.

That wood piece ar 9:10 is valuable if all there! The petals fit into the base and it’s a serving piece. People grab a petal and fill it with snacks for whatever. I would have died to have found one in the wild and for that price!!

I actually have a large set of those plates you didn’t get for $5. They are not old you can buy them in stores now. Not too expensive.

I think I bought mine at Walmart. I bought plates, saucers, bowls. I, also, have salad bowl, and punch bowl with cups. I didn’t buy coffee cups but they do have them.
I have 5 sons so not too much pink in our home.lol

That set of Noritake fine china just kills me to be sold. I see more and more china all the time on Facebook Market Place being sold. I have my Noritake china, Asian pattern since my bridal registry. That is back in the day when you were engaged, it was a big deal to pick your china, crystal patterns. Mine is 12 place setting of 5 with all the side dishes. It is 48 years old and still special. I guess no one wants anything with gold or silver trim.
