Thought I would share in case you don't know. The red line to Bethesda station will get you to downtown Bethesda - aka Bethesda Row - we have lots! Pottery Barn, William Sonoma, a large Anthropology, Apple, bluemercury, Nike, Madewell, Lululemon, Paper Source, Vuori and a lot of other great stores. Then if you take the red line north two more stops there is North Bethesda - Pike & Rose, where they have a Sephora, West Elm, Gap, Sur La Table, Uniqulo, and other fun stores. Then across the street from West Elm, you'll find a Target, Homesense, Marshalls, Old Navy. So much! You can also grab the bus to Westfield Montgomery Mall. I know it's probably easier to head to VA and catch a ride home with your BF, but wanted to share.
As a local, I can tell ya Unique is definitely expensive for a thrift store. The best days to go are Mondays & Tuesdays for an extra discount. Your finds are cute! I went the other day and only managed to find 1 thing, lol.
I go through lemons so quickly by drinking hot lemon + honey! My favourite night time drink 🍋 Loving all of your finds! Exactly what I would choose too 😍
That “ugly” blue/geeen vase/pot is actually such a beautiful and unique piece - I wanted to yell “Get it!!!” through the screen when you put it back on the shelf haha, glad you actually did bring it home!
Your two little glass dishes are called. Bon Bon bowls and they are meant for sweets or chocolates xx just for info xx but of course you can use them for anything 😃🥰
I love what you thrifted! Please do more thrifts in the future. I also wanted to say I think your pretty new faux hydrangeas would look great in the green and blue vase you bought (bent super short. May have to do a tape grid across the top of the vase to hold them in place).
The top shelf in your kitchen would look great with a couple of big rectangle wicker baskets and you could even have fake greenery spilling over the sides.
@@rachelleeaI agree💛and I think on top of your wooden shelves in the kitchen , some subtle ‘up lighting’ I think you get from Amazon, would be so so pretty and bring extra warmth and make even more cosy🥰🥰especially in fall and winter 💛🥰I think would add an extra dimension too💛🥰
Love seeing your apartment all coming together! I love that you’re bringing some colour into the space and all the pieces are so classically beautiful. You’ve done a great job in such a short space of time!
That blue flower bowls are pretty. Maybe you can use them on a tray, on your island or coffeetable, because they are the nicest if you can look into them. Maybe with some sweets in it, or teabags. Or some jewelry, like a catch-all. And please keep buying blue stuff if you like it!❤
I loved going into the Anthropologie that used to be in Yorkville! It was so nice!!! Their glassware is amazing. Your new teapot is so cute! So glad you got another blue thing.
Love all the thrift finds! I think it's OK not to know what to do with them right away and figure out later. On your shelves above kitchen sink I think pothos will look great! Also, for kitchen dishcloth, dish soap and etc I ordered some peel and stick hooks and hang a wire basket off tj Maxx. For cabinet door organization. It holds my dish soap, tables, hand soap and sponges. Hidden away but still quick to reach! You should try! It's apartment friendly, those peel and stick hooks. Love everything you got from the stores ❤❤
I love Mosaic District. Nice restaurants and shops in there. They also have a farmers market on Sundays and events thru out the year. You should also try going to Old Town Alexandria.😊 If you and your boyfriend ever want to try Korean food try going to Annandale which is not far from Mosaic.
I prefer when items are not so regularly and symmetrically placed on shelves. Since you have room to play with width (maybe put the teapot slightly more on the right or the left then in the exact center) and depth (maybe put the blue bottle slightly at the back and add a shorter piece like a cup in front of it) you could give it a try and see if you like it too?
@rachelleea Hello! I did the reverse thing and moved to Melbourne from DC 😅 Any idea where I could find good thrift stores for dinnerware, bakeware, vases, etc? Thank you! Love watching you go around DC ♥️
If you can't find small apartment furniture, ask for dorm room furniture. Most of the furniture for dorm rooms is the perfect fit for small apartments.
I agree …propped on their side slightly angled so interior is showcased.Make a little grouping of three items ,two of which being the bowls, will make for an I eye catching vignette on your shelf.( perhaps a small feathery, fern like plant, faux or real between the bowls) Also, until you get more cutting boards, turn your cutting board vertically instead of horizontally, grouping will look more balanced. I am thinking your pretty tea cups, grouped with the gorgeous tea pot, will give a fun collector look to your great finds.
Hi Rachel, nice haul. I was hoping you might get that mirror. It would have looked really good above your dresser or in your entryway. In any case your apartment is looking lovely.😊
Also, an interior design tip; when you’re positioning things on a side table, console or coffee table, setting them up straight and facing forward is always a more elevated look. Like the clock and little purse on your bedside table placed diagonally makes it look a little “childish” for lack of a better word. Place them facing forward and it’ll look much more styled. As well as the shelves in your kitchen, dont place the decor left-center-right. Have them be a little off centered and not matching each other, if that makes sense. Have the candle placed right next to a taller item to one side on one shelf, then a single item on the opposite side on the same shelf. Then maybe stack some cookbooks on the other shelf on the side where the single item is in the top shelf, and then a single item on the opposite end and maybe something wider in the center of that same shelf. It creates balance. Anyway, love all the items you found and how your place is coming along. So excited to see how it turns out 🤩

Oh thats amazing, thank you so much. I havent ventured out that way yet. Will have to one day to have a look 🧡💛
Your comment was so detailed. Very sweet to list all the shops too bless you ❤
I think a stack of books on that kitchen shelf would look great 👌😊

Great Thrift finds. You can't help it if you have good taste, and a good eye.
Thank you so much 💛💛

Great finds! You really don't need to cut off the dress. It's the perfect length for everyday. Not everything has to be so short.
The top shelf in your kitchen would look great with a couple of big rectangle wicker baskets and you could even have fake greenery spilling over the sides.
Thats a great idea, thank you
I was going to say this, nice wicker baskets! Just fill the shelf!
Bigger and less things maybe on the shelves. Like the idea of a basket

Aaah love how everything is coming together…❤
I think bigger bedside tables and def lamps. Some pretty stacked cookbooks in the kitchen shelves.
love it so much

Those blue bowls would look amazing stacked on that bottom kitchen shelf so you can show them off!!! ❤
Beautiful finds!❤
Love the basket and the glasses 🍸
Your picked up really lovely items.,👍🥰
Thank you! 🤗

You managed the Australian accent real quick! 😂
Nice it's looking more like home...
Have a great week! 😊
Thank you! You too!
Rachel, I love this video❤
Hi, Rachel, Have a great week !!!! 😀🫶👋
Thank you, you too
Last time I watched, u still live in Canada 😅. Congrats on a new journey 🎉

Nice haul!
Loved this❤❤❤
Love your finds, especially those blue bowls. 😊 As thrifting has become cool again the prices have skyrocketed in the last 12 months or so. 😩
Thanks for the info, so not fun but at least its still much cheaper than buying new 🩵💛
Haha I knew it was going to be unique
I think some vertical cookbooks on the top right and bottom left would be nice.
If you can't find small apartment furniture, ask for dorm room furniture. Most of the furniture for dorm rooms is the perfect fit for small apartments.
Great thrift finds🎉You might be able to fix the tiny chipping on that pretty white-blue tea pot with something?
The blue flower bowls would look nice on the shelve

Every room needs a plant for air filtration I promise 🖤 I noticed a difference
I really love your sandals. Where can i find these? 😍
Hi Rachel!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
First 🧡🧡🧡
3rd!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Rachel, nice haul. I was hoping you might get that mirror. It would have looked really good above your dresser or in your entryway. In any case your apartment is looking lovely.😊
Not into plastic ball plants. The rest is very nice.
Put that plant by the mirror on pedestal and leave it there!
That would be a good idea, thank you 💛
How about a rental car? Then you can drive wherever and whenever you want.
Where is your denim skort from, please? I thinj your apartment shows all the time you invested.

@@rachelleea thank you but too expensive to get it to Europe. 😅

I wish I could thrift here in Spain, just not the culture 😢
this fake hydrangeas 💚💙

I'm going to have to Google Nancy Myers.
My all time favourite movie - The Holiday and the classic Parent Trap. Theres just a vibe to the movies thats so sweet
Do you plan on getting a car?
Not any time soon, its way too expensive to have a car in DC 😊
@@rachelleea Alrighty then!
Guess when boyfriend moved in whenever has too like what you want… seems he has zero say!!
Why on earth would he have a say 🤣 its her apartment. Are you one of those women who caters entirely to her husband and has no life of her own ?
@@sarahs3601TOTALLY agree!💛
It is her apartment, they don't live together.
