      666 is the most effective method of enslavement, because it uses your free will against you, thus avoiding karmic retribution against the enslaver. (Apparently my explaination comment got deleted? I'm reposting it below luckily I sent it to someone else too..)

      @@jamiemackie3994 666 is an infinitely repeating cycle of pleasure. It exploits the tendancy to go towards what feels good, this is the primary method of "the lord of gifts", the lonely deceiver satan. Imagine you want to enslave a person, you could use force, but in a universe based on free will this is folly, very temporary result and retribution will visit soon enough, it can be delayed but the backlash is inevitable. The best way, is to make an offer, a gift so pleasurable it's difficult to refuse, this way the one offered makes the choice to accept it themselves, if (when) they keep accepting it, they become basically addicted, abandoning responsibility and morality for more pleasure. All of this is technically adherant to the free will principle, only gifts are being offered, even if they do contain known detrimental elements, naive people are willing to overlook them for the pleasure, no demands or force are used. Only moral responsiblity can defeat this, basically stoicism. I'm being very shallow describing this unintentionally, this is the most insidious and evil form of manipulation in the universe, it's hard for me to even articulate it, and i feel the massive resistance on my mind even trying to, it goes straight down to the bottom, it is the tool the anti creator element uses to attempt to keep the universe in thrall, and then ultimately to annihilate it completely, as i said it's by far the most effective means of enslaving someone, they call it the mark of the beast because it turns divine men into animalistic husks of their former selves willing to forsake friends health and even consciousness itself for that next massive pleasure. And it enslaves because they keep coming to the gift giver for more, now entirely dependant thus enslaved. The bright side is that even though this is basically a dark side "loophole", the One understands the intention behind it, and not only forewarns the wise, but saves the genuinely choice incapable, such as children or the unconscious. People who know the risks and yet choose to abandon the soul anyway are not saved, and left to their own choice. So its sort of like, people only have themselves to blame, the option to completely ruin yourself to pleasure is there, and if one becomes unable to stop but wants to, intervention is avaliable.

They had discernments about their society that transcended merely carnal and selfish ways of viewing the world. I also think it's no coincidence they were more conservative and traditionally Christian in their expression. They understood the devil behind the details and could see where things would lead if good moral values weren't upheld. I always felt so unsettled by this scene of the movie. And what’s profoundly depressing for me is when I try to go deep on things whether it’s the news or the Bible with family or friends, they look at me like I’m silly or outright reject my observations. Sure, my observations may not be perfect, but to shoot them down with a laugh or outright rejection without cause is a complete blow to your confidence. Hate to say it, but it does feel like Idiocricy, where those who try to be even a little bit smart are made fun of as “queer” and/or they’re ostracized. Even MORE screwed up is that it comes from both sides of the political spectrum now. Having your own voice can be a gift, but it’s now also a curse because so many people have put blinders on and aren’t willing to listen.

    Very powerful video and certainly an eye-opener for those who may have misinterpreted or not fully understood this part of the film. Pinocchio ran away rom his father, grew to see his conscience as a "bug" or irritation and grew evermore careless, reckless and irresponsible. He was completely unprepared to deal with the consequences of his actions though and nearly ended up living the rest of his life as somebody's slave rather than his father's son. Old Disney movies always had a more Biblical element of redemption in them compared to today's identity politics filled propaganda. Pleasure Island is the hedonistic world without boundaries "Progressive" Liberals want to push on Western Society that'll make us like the virtually enslaved citizens of the Soviet Union.

    The scene where Lampwick and Pinnochio are playing pool inside an Eight ball is symbolic.
    They've spent all their time on Pleasure Island playing around and chasing hedonistic pursuits.
    The fact that they're playing inside of an eight ball signifies that the game is over ( pursuit of selfish pleasures), and soon after will transform into jackasses.

  • @Dragon_Lair
    @Dragon_Lair 2 роки тому +6

    One thing I love about his analysis is the focus on Jiminy's development alongside Pinnochio's development.
    When Jiminy Cricket starts out he's not a very good conscience. He recites platitudes, he stands on his soapbox, well a matchbox, and lectures about what is right and wrong.
    And like him trying to define what is temptation, all he does is confuse Pinnochio and himself.
    He sleeps in and is late for his first day on the job and couldn't warn Pinnochio about the fox and cat were tempting him away from going to school and getting an education and by the time he caught up to Pinnochio he's walking the other way and already has the idea to become an actor set and Jiminy can't talk him out of it. When they get to Pleasure Island Jiminy is separated from Pinnochio because of Lampwick and his bad influence, vandalizing property, going into a house meant for rough housing and fighting, smoking, drinking and is almost killing himself throughout what Pleasure Island has to offer.
    The fact that he's Pinnochio's conscience also makes sense because he's a cricket. He's literally as small as a bug. That still small voice of the conscience is there but can be easily ignored and can even be lost by those who ignore it long enough, or squash it out. He is driven off by Pinnochio's poor choices and not listening to him multiple times, only to come back each time when Pinnochio truly needs him. He goes back to Pinnochio to wish him luck in his acting career and finds out that Pinnochio has to do well or be turned into firewood. He finds Pinnochio in the 8-ball building and tries to warn him from choosing bad friends. He discovers the trap that is Pleasure Island and returns to Pinnochio just as Pinnochio is changing and is seeing the horror for himself and is able to guide Pinnochio away from there.
    Jiminy cannot make Pinnochio do anything. He's not large enough and if he preaches too much he'll be seen as annoying or meddling and be driven off or ignored. He has to learn to accept that he's a guide and nothing more, he can see the danger but he can't make Pinnochio avoid it, but when Pinnochio does listen he can help him escape it.
    Pinnochio's development and maturity grows as he gains the life experience to see and know how bad things can get if you don't listen to your conscience. He lives with the consequences of his bad decisions but finds ways to make them work in the end when he goes searching for Geppetto, using his tail to tie himself to a rock so he can traverse the ocean floor looking for Monstro, accepting Jiminy's help as he is warned by hiim about how dangerous this is. Jiminy isn't stopping him and is actively helping him by holding the tail so the knot could be tied and does not hesitate to jump in with Pinnochio, knowing he is fish bait and they were basically on a suicide mission.
    Pinnochio's growth to be a good boy and Jiminy learning to accept that as the conscience he can't make anything happen makes this movie a classic.

    • @johngleue
      @johngleue 8 місяців тому

      Jiminy and Pinocchio are one in the same. Jiminy represents the boy's conscience. So them bring separated is merely symbolic.
      Jiminy being weak is in direct correlation to Pinocchio being unprincipled and weak in his faith. But the fact that Jiminy knows what's right and what is wrong shows us that on some level Pinocchio, too, understands what is right and wrong.
      Pinocchio is the story of a human being learning the hard way the lessons of life and in the end reaching salvation.

    According to the novel, it's any kind of childish behavior. The only description the book gives is that there's "only fun and games." But Carlo Collodi never had children, and in his eyes any childish behavior deserved punishment.
    Walt Disney understood kids enough to make a distinction between good childishness and bad childishness - wanting to play instead of work isn't bad. Vandalism, brawling and overindulging is. Also, Disney puts more emphasis on the Coachman's evil instead of the boys, while Collodi almost seems to be saying the boys deserve it.

    Unobstructed feeling embrace, without judgement, interpretation, embellishment, or otherwise disintegrating, dismantling, or dissolving the value structures which surrounds them, gives them their potency, and gives them the power that they have.
    Then Re-Creating their vital pathways and trajectories into the ends which enrich Life, Express Love, and further Create and Re-Create More of its own likeness.
    There is a way to do this.
    It takes Raw will, Courage, Wisdom, the determination to pursue Mastery, and commitment in the 'Healing Adventure'. Or 'The Heroes Journey' with the 'Hero' engaging in 'Healing', and not War...
    The Healing Adventure, as the framework, the strategy, and the mission to achieve Victory with these energies.

Sometimes the 8 ball makes you a loser quite unexpectedly and quickly. The 8 ball is the key to your destiny in the game. That's why they named the game after the 8 ball. JP has so many invaluable truisms to teach us that this one mis-step stood out - no disrespect to JP.
