Longtime silent watcher of Abbey here and recovering opiate addict myself, and i'm sooo excited to listen to her story. She inspires me that one day I'll be able to achieve amazing things like she has and have a wonderful family of my own. She's a true inspiration ❤
Wow wow wow… I’ve been kind of a silent supporter of Abbey’s for almost 2 years now and getting to hear her story in this way was amazing. You all are such beautiful souls and are so inspiring to this 26 year old girl from Illinois
Abbey has such an incredible and crazy story. Impossible to comprehend if you’ve been lucky enough not be touched by addiction. She should be an inspiration to EVERYONE that you can get your life back through any situation as long as you put the genuine work in. Loved this podcast and the hosts’ insight.
I just sat and watches this whole episode for an hour and a half because I couldn't stop. I can relate to this soooo much!! I am over 4 years sober, thank God! I too came from the same background as you. Listening to your story and how your parents responded is a mirror image to my life. Thanks for sharing, xo! ❤❤
Abbey when you tell the part about that therapist who called you out always gives me chills. it's so true those of us who portray our lives are perfect while in active addiction are the ones to die. No one knows how deep it really is
It’s wild, we as addicts know we have to differentiate between perks, were you taken the pressed blues or the actual perks. It’s even wilder we validate ourselves by saying ohhh it’s just fake fentanyl pills- I’m fine, I’m doing great I’m not shooting up dope anymore. As if it isn’t all deadly as fuck. Her story is interesting & intriguing! I live for this podcast & being sober obviously almost 3 years strong! 💪🏼 you guys kill it, on this project, so much inspiration and hopefully it reaches everyone that needs to hear it 💛
I've been watching Abbey for years now and it has been so amazing watching her grow, mature and make a beautiful life for herself and her daughter! I am so proud of you, Abbey!
Hi fellow sober girlie from the burgh. I’ve been watching you since the hysterical rehab chronicle days. I too, went back and forth to Cali- treatments run by priests ( shout out to father martins Ashley in Maryland) Florida, go ol’ York PA. By the grace of god I took myself to resolve- and my all time favorite county funded treatment center in aliquippa (IYKYK). God willing I’ll have 7 years this fall. I too, thought 30s was more elite and better than the junkie I was 😂 But this isn’t about me. It’s about you. You are so unapologetically yourself. Never ever change. Listening to this podcast helped me so much. I left the program two years ago after my dad passed, not because he died… but it’s been a journey. Like Mr.Rodger’s said “search for the helpers” and I found this. Never dim your light. From one mama who fucked up a lot to breaking cycles, my hope for you is to continue shedding light on this disease… you were sent here to help. Maybe one day I’ll venture to a meeting again and see you. ❤
I have 6 felonies 3 burglary and 3 forgery for writing 3 checks of my dad totally less than $250. The state picked it up. My dad every day lives with guilt and he saved my life. The state told him they would put me in rehab which is a program in prison. I ended up doing county time and getting sober. My dad saved my life. It’s so sad how hard it is on our family, I have never been able to relate to a story more. Holy shit!!
Wow thank you for sharing all of this abbey. As a SUD counselor, I’ve seen firsthand that Suboxone absolutely can get someone high and needs to be a careful decision
