  • When life gets hard or throws you a curve ball, how do you respond?
Do you fall into Stephen Karpman's Drama Triangle and react from the position of victim, persecutor or rescuer?
Or, are you able to choose your response and operate from the position of creator, challenger or coach in David Emerald's The Empowerment Dynamic?
This week's episode of Ask Leah is a little different and a little longer than usual (11 min).
I was asked to share two of the most powerful models I teach in my training.
It's not overstating it to say that these models changed my life and continue to guide me through my most challenging times.
I hope they have as much impact on you too.
To the person who asked me to record this video so they could share it with their spouse who is doing it tough post surgery - I hope this helps.
    Take care.
    Leah x.

Your video Leah is the simplest and most straight forward I have come across in understanding the DDT and the TED. Love it! Thank you.

excellent, very clarifying and helpful. Maybe ptsd needs to be healed first in order to to this.
Trauma might make it impossible to a more positive dynamic.

I think you can still choose. I "can't choose" my response because of ptsd is still an excuse. With respect, it is an excuse. You can choose your response always, might it be the healthiest? Ptsd should be treated, can it be fully cured? I dunno, sure woukd hate to be stuck suffering in the drama triangle for years until i was "healed" might be better to choose my response to be" I'm going to operate from the empowerment triangle as I work on things of my life including treatment for my PTSD" then you are operating from a more powerful position rather than just having life react upon you.
The choice of your response is in your head you literally can make any choice in the entire world, it is a free choice, with no constraints.
