Great video! The B9 SQ5 console is extremely similar to this, so your video helped me be sure I was pulling on the correct things in the correct spots when doing my 2023 SQ5.
This is a tremendously helpful video. Thank you so much! A couple of observations for anybody else attempting: (1) As JonathanU said, do not try and pry off the black trim piece without taking off the plastic undertray to which it is attached. The reason is because not only is the trim attached by clips but also by screws. It is impossible to remove the trim otherwise! (2) The undertray attaches to the center console through six metal clips. When you pry off that piece most if not all of the clips will likely fall off the plastic tabs they are attached to. On the left side middle, that clip may be stuck inside the connection hole. To get it out just pull out the side trim facing the driver's right leg (left hand drive) and use a small screwdriver to push it out. Reattach all six clips to the long plastic tabs and you should be good to go.
I have a '22 S5 Cabriolet. I ordered the trim piece a long time ago but it has just been sitting around. On the Cabriolet, the little pocket that you lift up the rubber mat from to access the very first screw you remove, is not there. Instead that is where the controls for the convertible top are located. I cannot find any information on how to go about removing those controls so that I can remove the rest of the console and install the new trim. Any suggestions?
Hmmm…I thought the convertible controls were up by the rear view mirror. Is everything else the same? If so have you tried prying off that section? It might be the same. If you can attach a picture of it maybe I can help.
I dunno, although the piano black is a pain to keep clean and in good shape, going with carbon fiber has too little contrast imo. I think a satin finish black or maybe some fine black woodgrain would be a bit more elegant looking. I do like the carbon fiber in the stock interior but it needs to be broken up.

It’s OEM from the RS6 or RS7.

Where did you find this carbon trim piece?

It says out of stock.
I know they make them in small batches so keep an eye out for one. You can also email them

It’s a basically a race car. Carbon fiber is the way to go for the RS5 without a doubt. If you have an A5 or S5 I agree.
