Very good advice ... Thank You. My Honda Civic turned 6 years in July with only 68000 miles so far... haven't measured the tires tread depth yet but have a feeling it's about time for new ones... Thanks Again!! Now I have to find out how to get a deal on tires...

GeoNotJ My Chevy Tahoe turns 7 years in March with only 53000 miles so far...the tread depth is 1/16 on my current tires, so it’s time for new ones.

Tires also lose all weather grip when worn, not just the ability to disperse water. Before 2000, the date code was 3 digits. You also don’t want to go beyond 10 years with tires.

Great and informative video! I will be buying a tread depth tool at the parts store tomorrow. As far as online websites for purchasing tires, I love tirebuyer.com! Bought new tires from them as well as new wheel rims. Great service and low price. They'll even ship to the shop of your choice for installation.

Sounds like he is getting paid from the tire companies. Just drive more conservatively when you tires are between 4 and 2 32nds.

Actually, drive more conservatively in general, 24/7! My grandma has a 2005 Ford Taurus that STILL has the original tires!

But what about the shipping? Do you have it shipped to your house? Cause last time I checked it would have cost like $100. And where do you bring your tires to get them installed on your rims?

Go to any tire store! There's Discount Tire (or America's Tire) and all they do is sell tires! They don't do any service except tires!

Just got mine all changed due to signs of dry rot. Now I can safely go back to 150mph speeds.
