I was a radar tech on the F-4E and G (same APQ-120). Deployed to Sheikh Isa from Spangdahlem. Capt Pat Pence had a radar lock on but was told to knock it off. It would have been awesome for an F-4G to score a Fox 1 kill other than a live fire training exercise like WSEP or Cope Thunder.
Really great interview; brought back some memories of my time as an E-driver in the 90th at Clark (86-89). I left about a year before Pinatubo blew its top.
This is one of my favourites to date! Interviewing Ewo's if thats what you call them make for some of the best content, and this one was fantastic, looking forward to the next onr with him. Thanks Steve 👍
Dude I love this channel so much so thank you for all the content. Anyway you can get an interview with an aggressor pilot? Anyways I appreciate your work!
By the way, I’d love a separate interview on the Pinatubo evacuation. That story’s been in my mind ever since it happened and even more so after I saw the documentary - which didn’t show evacuating the jets…
Steve, you are one of the best interviewers out there. Thanks for all of your efforts.
Agreed! My favorite channel!

Great interview! I was a F-4G Crew Chief in the 90th from 1979 to 1983. 69-0265 and 69-7208.
Pair-O-Dice!
Amazing. Worth the wait. Looking forward to hearing about F117 stories👍🏼
I worked for his EWO Gino at Eglin. Great dude.
Great American!
This was an epic interview. As an ex Phantom Phixer (uk) I really enjoy any content about the F-4
Thank you, Spot and Steve for this yet another magnificent interview.

"... the hairy eyeball" 😅
👀👀👀
@25:36 he said shooting 88 at airplanes. Thats the first time I have heard about that.
No, I was talking about WW II and with the Germany's primary anti-aircraft gun during World War II, the 88 mm Flak Gun.
