The issue isn’t necessarily the money being slave wages it just that the executives aren’t sharing the money around and giving people their fair share.

Ask any agent or production entity (including studios) and you find that 80 percent of projects have been postponed since January to avoid potential shutdowns, because it’s assumed the Guilds would support each other out of consideration. So far that consideration looks like it’s only going in one direction.
