The MAOI prevents the DMT being broken down before having any effect (which it would be if eaten on its own), making it possible to be active through oral ingestion.

An LSD out of body experience can be like DMT too... but you still seem fairly damn connected to reality. Even when I took an unknown amount of liquid Lsd, lost my hearing and saw complete white in a windowless basement - feeling like I was about to leave my body forever ... I still knew I was in my basement. It's like it allows you to access a stream of unlimited knowledge, while being fractured into 2 people... the infinite and the body. A lucid dream is more like DMT to me. Even if I know I'm dreaming, I'm still almost 100% convinced what I'm experiencing is real. DmT completely launches you out of your body, lucid dreaming does the same in a way. Though with lucid you're more aware of your body than DMT... it can see be way far out there. You won't know you're sweating buckets until you wake up! Uhm... so yah, I dunno. DMT & LSD rule.

Had around 10 lucid dreams and about half of them have been frightening. I remember looking it up though, how to do it, and these are the steps I saw. Never tried them, dunno if they're real, but here you are. Lie on your back with your eyes shut, don't move a muscle, imagine a rope starting in your body and going up through where the ceiling is. Slowly climb the rope in your mind and pull yourself out of your body. I did try this once, but that paranoia set in and I snapped out of it. I've almost created a ghost in my head because of it. Whenever I lie on my back in bed I always feel like someone's in the room looking at me and getting closer. Maybe it's not the lucid dreaming I'm scared of, but sleep paralysis which I've had twice. I dunno, they're both different but I still see them in the same space.

Makes me feel like i have lost all touch with the world and I will never come back. It is kind of depressing. Although I think that it is just a stage of getting used to a trip. You should read a book called Flatland written by Edwin Abbot in 1884, it's a hyperbole where a 2 dimensional figure (square) is introduced to a 3 dimensional pane & is shown its world from the 3rd dimension, it is another great analogy of what Stanhope is talking about.

Yopo seeds actually don't contain DMT, but they contain a related chemical, Bufotenine. I've tried the seeds and got nothing but extreme vertigo and nausea combined with violent projectile vomiting. Not recommended at all.

@@urwholefamilydied the way I heard, and how I realised I was accidentally lucid dreaming, was lying on your back. I'm a belly sleeper, I refuse to sleep on my back due to paranoia. Had around 10 lucid dreams and about half of them have been frightening.
I remember looking it up though, how to do it, and these are the steps I saw. Never tried them, dunno if they're real, but here you are. Lie on your back with your eyes shut, don't move a muscle, imagine a rope starting in your body and going up through where the ceiling is. Slowly climb the rope in your mind and pull yourself out of your body.
I did try this once, but that paranoia set in and I snapped out of it. I've almost created a ghost in my head because of it. Whenever I lie on my back in bed I always feel like someone's in the room looking at me and getting closer. Maybe it's not the lucid dreaming I'm scared of, but sleep paralysis which I've had twice. I dunno, they're both different but I still see them in the same space.

@ShamBuddah I do not think I am ready for DMT at all nor do I need to do it, but I was wondering what you mean by it scaring you. Have you done salvia? It always scares me. Makes me feel like i have lost all touch with the world and I will never come back. It is kind of depressing. Although I think that it is just a stage of getting used to a trip. I think once you learn to let go of the sense of self and your perception of the world, then it will not be as scary. IDK just thoughts.

Also LSD is a really interesting molecule - it actually contains the structures for both a phenethylamine and also a tryptamine... so you could technically say it is part of both groups. It seems fairly different from both though.
I remember when i was so high on shrooms one night of a full moon that i lie on the rooftop on 4th floor and wondered what would it be like if i jump off and die (i'm not suicidal). Then i saw god, not the actual god, it looks a lot like mufasa forming in the clouds, i was so fucked up and started blurting out questions like "what is the meaning of life" then i heard him say "nothing" then i started to have a badtrip. I got a severe attack of paranoia, like i'm hearing voices of my family and they know i'm high, then i saw shadows. 13 large fresh blue meanies, never had a trip that intense. I wanna try dmt lol
