This, this was fun. It's so good to be going back and watching RWBY from the beginning with you. And yes. We love Drunkle Qrow. He has such a sad story, and he's such a good character, flawed, damaged, but still amazing and loving with just the right amount of badass.

Add a few years for my previous point, and Qrow (who graduated at the same time as Yang’s parents and is around the same age) is at least in his early 40s

I'm not sure if Cinder was choosing the matchups the whole time... She just got access to Ironwood's scroll, thanks to the virus or whatever she planted in the communication tower in volume 2 (you see the queen chess piece appear on Ironwood's scroll when picking it up from Ozpin's desk), so maybe she only just got access from him, but maybe they'd already got into the system another way and were doing it before too... Either way, at least from this point on, we know she can control it.. Although she doesn't have to choose if she doesn't want to.
Cinder was controlling everything the whole time. That was why she implanted the Black Queen virus in V2 so she could takeover all the systems. What’s different here is that she now has access to Ironwood’s personal files and security codes, giving her complete insight into certain projects he’s been working on… like Penny. So Cinder could control the systems of Beacon and the Atlas’s military technology from the beginning, but here she got access to top secret government information that she can exploit for her own ends.
If Yang 17 years old when she begins at Beacon, (if I understand it correctly, Beacon is high school for the Hunter/Huntress Academies. so students study there for 4 years (( if they aren't killed before graduating).and studies there for 4 years, she'd be 20 or 21. If Yang's parents had her the same year that graduated, they'd be 40 or 41 years old. Do you ACTUALLY want to marry a at least 40 year old, sword/shotgun (I'm pretty sure) alcoholic?

They have no real connection, she just calls him Uncle because presumably Yang did and noone bothered to correct her. There are theories that Qrow is actually her father though so if you believe that then there is a biological connection.
