I love this episode. This is the first time we truly get to see two adult huntsmen fighting. The choreography is so cool!
The adults show why the RWBY crew are still in school
Every time Qrow is on screen all I can say is “let him cook”. Give this man a Michelin star.
This episode is a good benchmark for how much the series has already grown. Remember the Crater Face incident from Volume 1? Everyone said Ruby blew a crater in the courtyard, but we never see any damage due to limitations in the animation. This time, Qrow casually demolished part of the same courtyard and we actually get to see the crater. Even off the rip, CRWBY has been learning and growing to make the series better as it goes.
This episode is also a good reference point for the series's use of leitmotif, giving each character certain themes and instrumentals that are played in the background score when they're on screen. Every major character and faction has their own motifs that pop up throughout the series. Qrow, in particular, has a 6-note string melody that plays every time he makes an appearance and later evolves from there. Likewise, the kingdom of Atlas has a recurring march-like riff. Both can be heard mashed together as the main theme of Qrow's fight with Winter.
This episode also has one of the biggest hints of Ironwood's personality and motives moving forward. He said one line in particular that has been quoted to no end by the FNDM when it became more relevant.
Remember when I said the matches were randomized? Yeah, I kinda lied. At least now you understand who ACTUALLY has control over the Vytal Tournament. You're in for a real treat.
fighting an older sibling 200 times until victory is a canon event for siblings around the globe
Facts cause that one means sooo much
God i love this series, always with the emotional damage, the fantastic fights and the memories we get to make along with the characters, great reaction cant wait for more
This story hits all the right note, more definitely coming soon
So this is not a spoiler but in the extended books they explained why Neptune is afraid of water, its because of a traumatic childhood incident involving his brother, Jupiter Vasilias. During the incident, Neptune's Semblance almost led to Jupiter's death. Neptune also has an uncontrollable water-manipulation Semblance.
But they have yet to show the semblance in the show
Roger that, I can see why he would develop a phobia
Dang something I just notice is that at 8:18 you can actually see Qrow stumble a little bit, showing how drunk he is.
Rwby days are the best days (I absolutely love rwby)
Look closely at ironwood's scroll when he picks it back up. Key detail there.
Yup.

Keep in mind that this is what a regular fight between Huntsman looks like. There are even more powerful ones out there, and Qrow didn't even go full out. You'll see him go full out in the future, though. Also, a lot can be done with Aura. It can make you physically stronger, allow you to survive things you normally wouldn't, and can be projected outward, which is what Qrow did at the end of the fight with Winter. As for how she ran up the wall, that had to do with her Semblance. W video! Love these reactions!
Oh I can tell that they both were holding back I can't wait to see them go crazy in a fight. And thank you glad you enjoyed it
Aura can be used to sense aura and Grimm too, to some extent... There may be other uses too... Technically semblances are also manifestations of aura... But yeah...
The most interesting thing is Crow didn't fight at full strength, he was just playing with Winter, a very funny fact ))
Crow Is A Professional Hunter ❤
Right! Crow is a 🔥 character so far
Also he was drunk lol.
@@robertpresley1503 yep 😁
@@robertpresley1503he’s always drunk
@@BlueBlazeKinginsert clip of Qrow downing his flask
Blood is thicker than water. The blood of the Covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. So blood brothers are closer than family.
Hmmmm, is that the full phrase?
@@ReggieWolf as far as I know, I have never heard any other version except for the short version that flips the meaning. It is about how brothers whom you fight alongside one another in war are closer than your family.
@@ReggieWolf like in "Saving Private Ryan", where after he is told his brothers have all been killed in combat around the globe, so he is to be returned home for his mother's sake, he says "Tell my mom that I stayed here fighting with the only brothers I have left. She will understand".
man the length made me think it was a 2x the hype for the rest of the vol is real cant wait for the remaining episodes
Cinder commented on having a new access point while looking at Ironwood's info with a pleased expression. Remember that she hacked Beacon's system in Volume 2. That's how she's able to manipulate the "randomized" matches.
That's a major security flaw
"Who is she?"
...oh, you'll find out.
“I don’t care about Mercury.”
Oh boy.
👀👀👀
so in season 2 when cinder snuck into the tower that's what she was doing, gaining access to the military servers, ironwood is completely unaware. you will find out about Autumn very soon
i'd say it's like watching the chunin exams and then we get orichimaru vs the 3rd hokage
I've mentioned him before but you should check out Mark (that's his channel name, type in mark rwby it should come up), he does fan made fights inspired by rwby, his latest fight has the best use of a great sword user in a fight
I'll definitely check him out
This is probably the most hype fight this season, with the possible exception of a major spoiler. Definitely top 5 in the series overall, with another being him showing off the full capabilities of his weapon.
Here comes the sauce, Reggie~
As others have said, one of my favorite takeaways from this episode is the skill display of professional, adult huntsmen.
In the Qrow-Winter fight, the crowd could be less inclined to panic and run since…well, they all are apprenciate/junior/in-training hunters and a sense they can defend from collateral. For Qrow blocking Winter’s strike with Harbinger before it even leaves his back, that can probably be attributed to his Semblance, Misfortune.
The music for this fight is among my favorites in the series.
Also “who is she” will be exposed in due time
Now I must wait
21:30 Don't forget: Winter dies = we riot.
🤔😬 Roger that
7:15 That bird is important. Remember it for later.
Honestly Winter is the hottest character in RWBY in my opinion.
I can vibe with that
I'm not sure how much Monty actually did for this volume... He died early during production on this volume, I believe, hence his brother taking over Ren's voice for this volume... Mercury's voice actor also changed for this volume, although I'm not sure why... I don't think you noticed yet, but I might have missed it... See if you can recognise his new voice if you don't already know...
Anywho, I wonder how much Monty actually did... Personally I'm not sure many of the fights meet his usual quality, but I think there's also more fighting in this volume than usual, so that might have meant that resources were spread more thin in regards to his involvement... To be fair, there's some pretty cool action in the next volumes still, even if it's not as good as what I think Monty might have done, so maybe those people did the better stuff here too... I want to get the DVD/Blu-Ray soon and listen to the commentary to hear more about what was going on... I could probably find it online somewhere, but I want to get them anyway.
Meet the badass, Uncle Qrow. Also, episode 2 of The Amazing Digital Circus comes out tomorrow!
Grow is hilarious af too and I'm ready and waiting
Please do more fight breakdowns like this
I will just never want to make the video too long
@@ReggieWolf why not?
@oriditkowski8110 i missed a comma. I meant: I will, just never want to make the video too long
lol : "who is she ?" ,,,,, boy when you get to "SHE"!!!!
She's the one 😂
👀👀👀
4:40 Don't be too quick to pass judgment on Winter. She's a lot more complicated than she appears in this short episode. Now that the show has been unofficially saved, know one thing: If Winter dies in ANY of the future volumes, we riot.
That last sentence is... interesting
3:06 It's episodes 9 through 12 and it's for your own mental good. Now, that being said, you don't have to upload them all in a row if you don't want to, as long as you watch them all in a single sitting.
That's the plan👍🏿
Love your videos, great entertainment while I smoke and eat 🙂↕️
Glad you enjoy them🙏🏿
This fit for Cinder is lousy compared to her dork red smock with the yellow dust, that is scorching.
Yea I just like the change up
Actually, this episode is what made me love Winter. You can see that she's uptight just like Weiss was at the beginning, and I guess going to a "military school" and later joining the military didn't help, but she clearly cares about Weiss. When Weiss starts talking about her grades when Winter asks her how she's been, Winter immediately tells her she's not asking about her grades, but about her health, her friends and happiness. And she clearly went to Vale a little earlier to hang out with her sister. She says it herself "since it seems I'm a bit early...." why would an army's official be somewhere too early when she could be training or taking care of her responsabilities?
One of my theories is that Winter was acting rather rash was because she was in front of other people and with the army's robots, that can keep information, right behind her.
Hey, Reggie, are you going to MomoCon (Atlanta) this year?
That's a definite maybe probably only one day
Hey Reggie. Just wanted to let you know that I also just started my channel. I plan on doing anime reactions too. *dont judge* I never finished Naruto lol. And I play COD, got a few clips up. Let me know if you play.
Nahh I haven't touched COD since Cold War, and much success on your UA-cam journey
I mean, technically, the train incident was RWBY's fault because they failed to stop the train. It was the General's army that stopped the attack from escalating further, and the infiltration of Beacon would've happened even if he wasn't there because it was during the Vytal Festival.
This is a fantastic volume, its great to watch but the lead up to the end doesn't feel good. It's just a constant pit in your stomach that just continues to get deeper.
Alan bowe dropped a new vid bro, get on it!
A Lil aggressive but it's loading
All gas no breaks? Nah the breaks are there….you got to wait for the last 30 minutes of this volume for the breaks…😂….🫥☠️
