As a former breeder of livestock, tragedy happens. Babies sometimes don't make it. It never gets easier and it is always sad. But I always felt grateful that if I could ease their suffering I was able to help them. Farming is a lot of work but very rewarding ❤
I remember Patrick. It was so hard to listen to the updates about him. I remember you even went and got a lift to try to get him on his feet. I kinda had a feeling at that point the best thing was to let him go. I knew at that point his quality of life would be poor but knowing all this it still broke my heart when the time came. I still dont know how you were able to drive home after that heartbreaking decision.
From an emergency vet tech - NEVER feel guilt for not being able to escape a tragedy. You know your animals, and you know as a large animal owner/breeder that a horse that cannot stand is not a horse with a good quality of life.
The way Jonathan grabs you and kisses you when you found out you won the bid (VS Code Red) I literally burst into tears. He loves you so much and I see all the love in your eyes when you look at him. He was so proud and happy to be there while your dreams came true
Katie.. don't let anyone online attempt to bring you down. You know horses plus your vet is always on call. Don't question what you do. Believe In Yourself ❤

I just discovered your channel. I did not know about Patrick, but as a dog breeder I know bad things happen to infants and you made the very best choice for Patrick. Moving on from that isn’t cold or heartless or whatever ignorant description someone put out there. It is necessary and right not to dwell on your losses. Remember? Absolutely. The lost ones always stay in your heart. God bless.

Patrick's life may have been short but he was loved, cared for, warm and fed .I think my first video of yours I saw was you doing an update on your broodmares around...September 2022 and I've been hooked ever since.I didn't know well anything about hunting ,apart form the fact I don't like it,but watching your video and learning about how hunting should be done and why and why it is not just a blood sport, I feel better about it and I understand it more now. From a girl who grew up with horses and then when I lost my dad when I was 7 I slowly was phased out of being involved bc my uncle took over my fathers part of our farm and convinced me to sell my part in our namesake farm so seeing your channel brings me back to all of the fond memories I have as a little girl who desperately misses her horse babies. Particularly my baby’s name that I had a deep connection with was TopHit. Please keep these videos coming because it fill my heart with such joy to live vicariously through y’all. Sending all the love, prayers and happy moments y’all’s way. From one really all animal lover (especially these majestically beautiful horses) to another you keep killing it and know you have so much support and love flowing your way.
I found you on FB. People you may know a hunting picture and started following and watching the farm grow and all the babies is just wonderful. Life is a circle there are births and there are deaths. Always send prayers and positive thoughts when things look bad. All we can do is hope for the best and have grace when bad things happen! You are so filled with Grace!! I am so sorry about the loss of Cool and her baby my heart just broke for you after watching all the videos of all her issue leading up to her death. I was so hoping for her relief after having that baby for but God had other plans. Keep up the great sharing of your work and life. Hoping to see you and Jonathan announce soon that you will be having your own little baby boy or girl!!

I have really enjoyed your channel after coming across it in January 2024. I was sitting in the hospital with my husband of 52 years. I needed a distraction to keep me sane 😂. When I was young, I owned a sweet little quarter horse named Patty. I loved horses all my life.

I got hooked on your journey via TikTok. I have always loved horses but never allowed to have one lol. I have learned so much more about horses and farm life. I love seeing the foals being born, the mini animals, the cows and calves. I bawled when you got VS Code Red, I bawled when Rooster passed. I wanted to go to the meet n greet in Columbus. I was there visiting my daughter and grand babies. We got so busy it wasn’t possible. I am so thankful for being given the opportunity to learn from watching your videos. I remember when I first saw your videos and instantly I was hooked! The way you spoke about your animals was different from other content creators and I was so infatuated with all your 100+ horses, cows, mini cows, mini goats, mini donkeys and I’m so glad that you showed up on my feed.
Patricks Facebook videos are the first that came across my feed and have been watching since. Ive always loved horses and was lucky to grow up with a friend who had horses so learned a little from her.

Watching you and your family is the highlight of my day! Yes I spammed all of your videos when I first saw you because I was so intrigued in living life with you and it took me back to what my life should have been. My fiancé was murdered back in 99 and before that he and I had started our little farm together. We had built a house and a huge barn that the lights got finished after he passed. We had planned for having babies with our horses and just everything. Probably nothing like you have but we had plans that just stopped on a dime when he took his last breath. I couldn’t afford the payments on the house and land and because he was murdered at the house I knew I could never live there. So I had to sell. His kids came in and took all the horses from me and anything they could grab in a flash because yes they stole them. That’s a whole other story. Anyways I love watching you and smiling just thinking of all we had gone through to hopefully get to where you are and just how happy all of the chaos made me. Keep doing what your doing and remember the haters are gonna hate don’t let them get to you. Gosh i remember all the highs and lows of foaling season 2023. From Penelope's dramatic entrance to poor Patrick, it was a lot. But i also learned so much and continue to learn. What happened to Patrick was devastating, but it was what needed to be done. Let us hope and pray that the 2024 foals are all healthy
