I can only speak for myself, but your findings resonate with my experience. Every time I consume caffeine I become extremely irritable and intolerant. I'm normally easygoing but, after consuming caffeine, I turn into a jerk, I act rashly, I easily get angry and become very intolerant. It seems to amplify negative emotions. During a caffeine high, any encroachment into my personal space makes me extremely uncomfortable and anxious, and anything that doesn't meet my expectations (essentially people failing to read my mind!) makes me snap. I've been monitoring myself on and off caffeine since I noticed these effects and the correlation between bad moods and caffeine is 100%. I've also traced occasional parasomnia and bruxism to caffeine consumption. Yesterday's is officially my last caffeine dose.

Completely resonate. I find that caffeine is most definitely a mood amplifier: after drinking it for almost 30 years I decided to stop and gave it up for 6 weeks, in that period I was the most calm I had ever been, almost 0 anxiety and irritability, once I got past the first week of withdrawal symptoms I was fine. Unfortunately I decided to go back to it again, and then the stress, irritability, anxiety and over thinking returned with a vengeance. I'm most definitely aiming to quit again, this time for good 🙏🙏🙏💪

I can somehow relate to this because I actually experience this. I always had an overthinking problem which most of the time leads me to anxiety and depression. I even thought that I had ADHD or ADD. During uni break/vacation, I did not consume any caffeinated drink for 1 month straight. It's just that I did not have to because I did not have to study. During that month, I was calm, okay and most importantly not overthinking. I was so happy to be free from these haunting negative thoughts. Initially, I did not know how this happened. Then when uni started, I got back to caffeine drinks and guess what the overthinking problem came back like a rocket. Just after I finished my cup of coffee - my brain was pulling all kind of images, ideas and thoughts all at once. I could not focus at all and was certainly not calm. At that moment, I realized that coffee is not good for me. I stopped and the overthinking problem vanished.

It is good for my depression too…I don’t need it everyday or every minute of the day, but when I just can’t push myself it always does the job. I’ve had no negative experiences but I am just realizing that it is an anti-depressant for many. We all have different reactions to different substances. I don’t have a healthy relationship with alcohol, a bad time is almost guaranteed and it’s not by choice…just my body’s chemical reaction to it. Others can go all night and seem perfectly fine. To each their own, respectfully. But it’s is extremely dangerous to generalize…may deter someone from something that can actually benefit them. Coffee is my “pick me up” and I do not abuse it.

I personally experience rapid ups and and downs with caffeine in a bi-weekly cycle when I consume caffeine. I usually lose sleep and stop eating towards the end of the two weeks of consuming it. At first it gives me a lot of excited energy but then after losing sleep I become angry and irritable and I decide to quit. Then the crash at the end of two weeks is awful and I feel majorly depressed. Some people have said that I probably have bipolar, but I'm personally convinced that it is caffeine/drug induced. When I abstain from all mood altering substances it seems I don't have these issues.

(Going to the gym is WAY more productive) I also get restless which can be used to get projects done that I've been putting off. (ADHD I think)
The bad is I'm more aggressive and will tell coworkers or my boss off easier. I don't take any slight well. I'm hyper aware and notice everything. I talk a LOT and my brain flies.
Then when I come off I think I feel worse and more depressed for a bit while my brain gets use to it. I try not to use it straight for more then a week or 2. I think I have ADHD so it's self medicating. If I combine CBD with it I'm smother around the edges but still energized.

Yeah because you’re masking withdrawal symptoms. He’s talking about when you natural mood and energy as a child or teen before you became dependent on a chemical to elevate your mood and productivity everyday , which in turn like any drug causes your dopamine receptor sensitivity to down regulate (tolerance) and needing more and stronger doses of whatever chemical to get any effect as your new baseline to feel
Good is much higher. However everyone’s body os different so you may be too. Or you may just use everything else to
Justify a harmful habit that feels good in the short run with instant gratification as most humans and all animals do.

Right here. He said not for me. So, ok. Other people are different. It's ok. It makes my mood better too.

The caffeine in coffee stimulates colon muscle activity and increases pressure in the anus which increases the urge to take a crap.

Or we could say that if you want to know about your mental health, get some caffeine to see what happens and take care of that problem in you.

There is no place for this music imo. I just want to listen to what our dr. here has to say without the distracting music.

I honestly would agree with what he said until the verse last part. Shaming someone for drinking caffeine i don't feel is the right thing, i believe people with adhd having caffeine can actually help them because that raises the dopamine levels. It could actually be a highly individualised experience.

Nah, dude, coffee is chill as hell. I've been drinking it since i could walk. It makes me kind, relaxed and friendly. I'm just apathic and sleepy without it.
For some reason, there are many people putting ALL of their problems on caffeine as if it was some devil miraculously responsible for their issues. I think that that is weak-willed and incorrect. Caffeine, as mentioned in the video, only amplifies your thoughts. It doesn't cause anything bad per sé.
Don't be saying things about coffee that aren't true. It is true that some people can get irritable and stuff, but others calm down and relax. We are all different and answer for our own bodies. Peace and love, y'all!❤
