Awesome, Congratulations on you all limiting out. Looked like a really great time. Did the charter clean and vacuum pack all your fish ? Keep on keeping on. Stay Safe !
Hey, John! It was an awesome time! They did all the cleaning and vacuum sealing-quite the treat! We just smoked some of this batch last weekend, it turned out sooo good 😋
Was there last year, didn’t do nearly as good. Going back in July , this could be a yearly trip. Did you have just mono line on or did you have fly line
Hi, Steve! Thanks for watching and commenting. To be honest, since we were using the guide’s stuff I don’t remember, it may very well have just been mono. Best of luck in July!!
thank you for the reply. Last year we loaded fly reels with straight mono(fluorocarbon). This year I didn’t know if I was going to take off backing and fly line, kinda of a hassle
@@wanderblest so this year I left the fly line on and just add extra long leader of fluorocarbon line. I’m glad I did it that way cause the week we were there the salmon weren’t running. 80,000 below last year total and daily numbers as low as 2,800. By midweek I shortened the leader and started to fish for rainbows, grayling and pinks. Did well , no sockeye(can’t catch what’s not there) but caught other fish.
Agreed
Thanks for watching!
Ahh the nostalgia. Made a trip in 2016 to salmon fish and I miss it to this day. Stayed right on the Kenai in some small cabins
Aww love that!! The memories are even better than the fish-and the fish are pretty dang delicious 😋
Do you remember where you stayed? I’m looking to possible get away from using outfitter
@@Steve-rr3gc I can’t remember off the top of my head but if I do I’ll reply!
@@Canadahockey14 thank you
Your thumbnails are getting really good! Keep at it.
Thanks!! I’ve been working really hard at improving them!!
“Package deal” 😂 Looks fun, bet it was a workout cause they looked really strong and heavy 🎣💪🏼
I'm glad someone caught that 😂😂 Hoping we will be successful this weekend when we hit the Kenai again!!

Gonna be there in july the week of the 10th
Very nice! Should be good timing 🤞🏼
From what I've seen already good run of red's and good size
Just found your channel and subbed! We are headed to the Kenai also!
Thanks so much!! Have a BLAST! We will probably be down there again fishing this weekend.
@@wanderblest we return today, it was slow at swiftwater campground, but tons of fun 😊. Good luck hope you catch your limits!

Update-we went again this year with our own gear. We used backing and mono. How did your trip go?
