Hello ma'am! Currently I'm reading two books. A Dostoevsky classic 'Brothers Karamazov'... and a lighter reading... Marquez's 'One Hundred Years of Solitude'.

None of them are lighter read.. 😮 I want to read both of them.. How are you liking it?

@@ManishaMishra1996 Karamazov is taking more energy, thoughts and annotations . There are simple yet profound ideas which deserve to be highlighted and I am taking the time per se. I personally found Marquez lighter as compared to the Russian classic. Marquez is nevertheless a pain in the heart and a difficult page turner , but the magical realism used gives the reading a float..a minorly detached perspective yet still haunts a bit somewhere. Personally, i wouldn't like to put aside Marquez after the reading, it connects comfortingly..and deserves a re-read afterwards:)) Go ahead with them! Best wishes 🤞💗

I'm currently reading 2 books - I, Claudius by Robert Graves. It is a fictional memoir of the Roman emperor Claudius and talks of the family deceptions and conspiracies that happen during his childhood and adulthood as his grandmother tries to grab supreme power. Highly recommend this even if you don't know anything about Rome (Rome is my happy place whenever I am in a slump). Second is A history of Christianity by Diarmaid MacCulloch. I wanted to learn about how the different denominations of the religion came about and the truth of their tolerance or lack thereof for each other and other religions over time. This is the most popular book on the theme. I recently finished Part of Your World by Abby Jiminez, a cute, cheesy romance that is too wishful for my taste😂.
I look forward to your Hindi book reviews. i need more Hindi literature recs. Apologise for the long comment, yet again.😂

Just finished "The Courage to be Disliked" by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. I'm reading "Grit" by Angela Duckworth now and recently bought "Days at the morisaki bookshop" by Satoshi Yagisawa
and "The Courage to be Happy" by "Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga"[ it's a sequel of The Courage to be Disliked.]
"Narendra Modi: A Political Biography" by "Andy Marino" is the well researched and unbiased autobiography book on him.

@@ManishaMishra1996 This book is a masterpiece. Like a youth in this book it hard to digest the facts at the starting but slowly you starts to understands the deep meaning and messages by the philosopher. It centres on the conversation between a philosopher and a young man. There's a quote in this book 'The biggest lie in life is not to live now.’ The present is the only thing you can change because the moment becomes the past and the future is still unknown. It's not yesterday or tomorrow that decides. It's here and now.
The philosopher believed that every individual has the power to break free from past traumas and find their own happiness. Once you realized that all the hardship you went through was a storm in a teacup. The moment you leave the teacup, that raging storm will be gone and a gentle breeze will greet you in it's place. The courage to be happy also includes the courage to be disliked. When you have gained that courage it will change into the lightness and do not live to please everyone. Living authentically and pursuing your goals may lead to disapproval and criticism. Take positive and constructive critics but ignore the rest. In philosopher's view, 'It's only when a person is able to feel that he has worth that he can possess courage'. Only you can give meaning to your life. Your worth is not decided by someone else. Once you are not afraid of being disliked by others and live your life to your way and adopted a energial viewpoint, life is always complete and prosperous. It's a brilliant and thought provoking book. I think you should definitely read this one.
