  • We continue our travels to Ujitawara, Japan, to visit the organic tea fields of Mr. Yamaguchi. We meet him in person for the first time, and are amazed by the historical approach he takes to his production, and as expected came away inspired by the beautiful fields. Some of his tea fields are right near Soen Nagatani, the inventor of Sencha hundreds of years ago, and his ancestor. Some trees he harvests are more than 200 years old! We also bring milled maccha to the fields where they grown to share with Mr. Yamaguchi.

Thank you! It is definitely a journey to try and understand it. Feels pretty core to our goals as a company, and Yamaguchi-san's work is inspiring. We had a great time learning from Fujioka as well in the previous episode, and hope up visit Takaki in the fall for a bit of a story on transitioning tea fields to organic by a second generation tea farmer in Fukuoka. 👍
