yeah this has got to be one of the best performances of Atlas that I've ever watched. Such a smooth beginning and just powering through the whole way! Crowds loving it too, which is always nice :)
gasp....holy crap...no matter which way you look at it, what an amazing performance.. These guys are like superheros fighting to save the imaginations of the human race.
This is why I'm proud to be from Mexico City...our culture (like few others around the world) welcomes and appreciates great musicians like Battles. VIVA BATTLES !
It's 2:47 AM in the hot, muggy basement of a locally owned concert venue that fronts as a Chuck E. Cheese's. The year is 2085, and the 14th clone of Donald J. Trump is continuing his campaign promise to outlaw post-art-rock acts across the board. After going into hiding years ago, for fear of execution, a sweaty and frustrated John Stanier takes the stage at the promise of 6 blocks of Dogecoin. He hasn't touched a pair of drumsticks in what feels like a lifetime, yet it all comes flooding back in an instant rush of adrenaline, probably something triggered by the steroids and Red Bull that the government has been lacing public water with. Little do John and the band know that a private mercenary group hired by the 16th clone of Mike Pence awaits them outside, tipped off by a local prog-rock purist.
Now i regret not going to that gig, but i had little money and the "cuervo" is the worst venue in Mexico City, besides the larger Palacio de los deportes ,also know as "de los rebotes" which mean bouncing palace because the sound delays horribly. So sad, we need more battles now, its almost four years without new stuff!!!!
I agree brother, I saw Molotov at the Palacio de los Deportes years ago and I couldn't tell which song they were even playing half the time. It was like they had two delay pedals on at the same time.
¡ B A T T L E S ! Aunque salió el chinito de Tyondai Braxton, no deja de ser una bandota y esa rumba en el minuto 30:10 de "Ice Cream" ¡Raaa! está como pa' perrear papawh...
Ian should shave his mustache, buy an identical fake one, wear it, and let it "accidentally" fall off in an interview. I realize this comment is moronic, but it would be in keeping with his strange interview habits.
So? haha the fact that I'm on youtube or that you think he is an amazing drummer, doesn't change the fact that he doesn't know how to sit. Look at him, thats why he is so tired, he is pushing his back to the limits.
Fernando Montiel as much as i love john stanier, i agree with you. indeed he's not the most "right-posture drummer", but there are a lot of drummers or musicians with wrong posture that write great music. And actually that's the point.
Fernando Montiel He's up on stage in a successful band playing to thousands of people. You're in your basement criticizing him on UA-cam. He doesn't need your advice.
fluxmuldar Lol mad fan. It is what it is, Lars Ulrich plays in a band one million times if not more successful than battles and that doesn't make him the best drummer.

Primavera Sound 16! *tears of joy* AGAIN.
gasp....holy crap...no matter which way you look at it, what an amazing performance.. These guys are like superheros fighting to save the imaginations of the human race.
Can't wait for their new material! Love Battles.
Holy shit, this has got to be the best live version of Atlas I've seen so far.
This band is so... perfect
the way the adverts kick in really improves the flow of the video ¬_¬
Ya know I really like how they replaced Tyrondai's vocals. I mean they're not as great, but they're still done really well I think.
I think its supposed to be speleld Tyrion
The transitions during this set are epic!! #BattlesForLife
#JohnStanierIsMySpiritAnimal
22:52 that transition into ice cream was so good
Primavera Sound 15! *tears of joy
This is why I'm proud to be from Mexico City...our culture (like few others around the world) welcomes and appreciates great musicians like Battles. VIVA BATTLES !
These guys are crazy and I love them!
These dudes are a force to be reckoned with.
¡No mames, qué chingón! Yo estuve ahí y ni puta idea que existía esta grabación. De lujo :D

Your style of writing is legit. A+
Music, art and all other forms of self expression are just as threatened by the 'left' as they are the 'right'..
@@matthewbirnie9174 Wall Street
give us your life story why don't you princess
@@smashdalde9713 nah dude. history has proved your assertion incorrect time and time again
LOL at Ian during the "Singer is a Crook" part!
:D
This is damn good.
The lack of bass screentime is sickening... ):

Qué envidia por todos aquellos que alcanzaron la gloria aquél día
Where can I watch Rainbow live?
nowhere
At goldenshower.
There's some good live covers
So jealous of that crowd
I would be so scared to get into an argument with John Stanier 0_o Even if it was over a small error in a loop.
i wish i was there
Drummer is epic
Nice MOOSETACHE, Ian.
any playlist, muchachas ? gracias
¡ B A T T L E S !

Haha, it was an awesome show. :D
their ears must be destroyeeed
Is it just me, or the beginning sounds much like Manson's "Beautiful People"? ))
+shb1978 it's you. Maybe same rythmic but not the same drums.
+Gotminium yep. it's not close: coub.com/view/8m6st
Una noche pa reordar siempre
This was fucking amazing
Did these guys do the little big planet music? Or did little big planet pay for the song lol
Inchworm sounded unreal
he's doin the lights
I forgot the name of the second track. Does anybody know it?
Does anyone know the name of the first song? Thanks
It's, Atlas.
wow super tight. Awesome atlas
finally a crowd deserving of this awesome noise, when ive seen them the crowd is so boring, still the sound is fucking biblically epic
I mean.. right? Or not.
Stanier is God...
+longhorn2615 He's got to be one of the best drummers in the world. He's the clear focus of this band.
If anyone needs a lesson in how to be a drummer...
was that an argument 20 mins into it??
Ian should shave his mustache, buy an identical fake one, wear it, and let it "accidentally" fall off in an interview. I realize this comment is moronic, but it would be in keeping with his strange interview habits.
No way. Your comment is absolutely genius.
Epic
WOW!
#MaraDSLR represent!
Great band, but this recording feels like I'm listening to it through the walls of the toilet whilst I've nipped off for a quick wee.
is that a fourth member on keyboards at 12:09?!
Dr. Uggs sound engineer
You must be new here.
WOW.
John needs to play drums for les claypool
Lol no. He wouldn't be able to hold a candle to herb, much less be able to keep the double bass up with les.
I don't envy Mr Stanier...that much....
i think them toms should have more of a punch
BOO THIS MAN!
no la re pishes mames!!!!
Sounds like a lot of syncopation to me
Wall Street i think.
@BennyGaberMusic :)
little big planet lmao
I was there :)
audio is awful
+Hieronymus Lex yep.
Mix is awful
What a shitty snare.. Awesome show by the way!
Mic placement is too close to the head. Only getting overtones. The snare itself probably sounded fine to the audience
Band feels a bit pale without Tyondai
But still very much alive. Look at em go.
that drummer needs to learn how to sit properly.
So? haha the fact that I'm on youtube or that you think he is an amazing drummer, doesn't change the fact that he doesn't know how to sit. Look at him, thats why he is so tired, he is pushing his back to the limits.

ha um ok
No se porque me suena algo a Kongos :v
Atlas? Tonto?
wtf is this man?! sounds like a joke lol
there isn't a solid beat.
Go back to Katy Perry then
horrible performance...
