You get what you pay for _ and that looks well worth it Tom. Hats off too Sortimo for allowing you to film + good free advertising for them and their work system to get the job done.
you're like a kid at Christmas, congratz m8, you've earned it with all your hard work, keep up the good work. So glad to see you be successful, hard work, dedication, and self respect or sense of honor really do go a long way.
I had a huge grin on my face the whole time I was watching this! It's really obvious how excited you are about having these and who could blame you! I plan on buying something a lot younger to replace my 2011 Trafic in a couple of years time, and will be going the Sortimo route as well. It's hard to justify for someone like me who isn't an actual day to day tradesman because it takes away a certain amount of the universality of the cargo space, but I think I'll keep the old van for those times that I need a lot of space and rack out the new one for tool, parts and consumables storage. Congrats and health to enjoy them, to both you and Dave!
Wow that is great! Congratulations! I cant believe how far racking has come , back in the 80s I memba my father bought his 1st new van when he started his electric company n I spent a whole weekend building bins to fit all the materials idk if they even made racks at that point ne way I was around 8 yrs old n it amazed me.. n now I'm 38 n we have a much newer set up but nothing near this ! 🍻 n yeah that vise is dope you dont realize how handy they come in till you have one ready to use !! Back in day we bolted one to the old steel bumper LOL!!
you can get a rough idea of the cost from the website and customize the build to your suit you needs on their site (www.mysortimo.co.uk/en_UK/). It cost me just over 3k for mine
Warm water hand washing unit ... Man i remember shivering my blt in at lunch back in the day after washing up with almost freezing water ;) That thing must be heaven in winter! ;)
Glad you are pleased with the new racking, it looks great. Plenty of space for everything you need to have on you, and you can get clean before you have to drive home!
The ladder on the system is great. I worked with London Fire Brigade, & they have a roof system like this, which offloads to the rear, not a problem for them as people give them space when they are on the job. So your sideload system is a great idea, which makes a lot of sense, & makes life easier.
Great content in this vlog, great job. Fair play to Sortimo for giving you access to the behind the scenes, seems like they are quite a helpful company and accommodating which is hard to find now a days when big companies tend to be rush rush rush. Cheers Tom appreciate the effort on this one pal 👍
Congrats! I’m picking mine up on Monday, can’t wait! How much did it set you back for all that? Mine is very basic and cost me about £2k so I’m guessing your in for about £5k there?!
I drove around in a britivc VW caddy van when we did the sortimo system it changed the game for field engineers.... had sortimo systems ever since... you will love it..! now you juist need to pin a stock sheet on the inside and keep stocks :)
Very nice! I bet that cost a good amount of money. But I have learned over a lifetime is that when you buy something big and it works well, then it’s priceless. You save in terms of the time you save not having to look for stuff. Instead you find it very quickly. Enjoy it.
Love the pull out draws for cable. Where will you put your power tools and tester? I fill a van vault which keeps them secure inside my van during the day. I always end up using the floor space in front of my racking making it hard to access. Try using gloves when working, it has saved my hands i feel lost without gloves. Every bit of space on my van is valuable, not sure i would have wasted so much with a vice. I have been using Bott racking for the last 10 years, to not have a van correctly racked out is bonkers
With the optimised storage, you carry more tools and bits. That will save a lot of extra trips. Matters when working in a big city with limited parking, crippling traffic, expensive hourly rates. Effectively you have a bigger van. This system probably is expensive as hell but pays itself off in a matter of months. Also, a nice organized office is motivating.
Great video again, well done. Just made an enquiry to Sortimo for some racking for my Transit Custom. One thing that I haven't heard you mention, or I may have missed it, is van security. This area is a minefield of good and bad, cheap and expensive but also daunting for the inexperienced or the gullible. Do you add any extra security or deterrents to your van? Given the areas you work I would have thought van/tool theft would be of concern.
My previous van was racked out. First time I went to the wholesalers and picked up a drum of armoured cable I couldn't fit it into the van. I had to take it back in and get them to take it off the drum for me. Wise move leaving a decent sized empty space
What’s the difference between holding a mobile phone to your ear or a walkie talkie to your mouth whilst driving? Genuinely curious if holding a walkie talkie is allowed?
i have to cut a small section of the dividing bulkhead out at floor level to slide long objects in, or put a flap hinged door on it, exactly for things like tubes or unistrut etc. i'll show it on another vid
Probably a couple of g’s lol He may of got some sort of deal with them by recording the vlog & showing the viewers around & talking about the products etc
That racking cost more than my van. Lol.. very nice Thomas 👍

Sortimo stuff is the dogs bollocks, I have it in my works van, fold down work bench with vice, I can’t fault it, I repair trains out in field , like I say I can’t fault the kit, also bro-stor kit is rugged
Man that is alsome you even put radios in them heck ya. Haha Wish I could come work for ya but am here in the states. It's a nice bit of kit as you would say Haha:)
Hi from Greece again. Amazing videos I really enjoy your stuff. Even though we’re not on the same business. But I like the UK and what you do there. Just one thing careful re showing, the road of your storage areas etc. But generally nice van and vid man. Keep those videos up gg.

The ladder rack is mint 👌👌👌👌👌
It would be great to have an idea of the costs Tom. Cheers!
about 10G is probably in the right ballpark
£5k ? Higher or lower?
A lot.

Great video again, well done.

You were looking me a father on the birth of your New baby mate 👍 Thanks for sharing matey.
Sortimo is about 2.5-4K depending on the set up you go for. Guessing Tom would have got a good deal for 2 vans & the exposure they’ll get from this
Living the dream 😀
My previous van was racked out. First time I went to the wholesalers and picked up a drum of armoured cable I couldn't fit it into the van. I had to take it back in and get them to take it off the drum for me.

Congratulations!! Looking awesome with the twin vans.
Looks properly sorted Tom. nice job
first time i ever seen you speechless ,nice job
Fair play to you Thomas, nice setup, must have taken a lot of hard work to get where you are now, well done mate.
The start of the video was 👌💯 first thing I said was Thomas is ONIT
Great racking, love new vans, just a shame they don't stay new for long, top job.

Good on you, a long time coming 👍
Nice one Tom.👍
Damn !! only 15 mins from me, would have been a pleasure to say hello in the flesh.
What’s the difference between holding a mobile phone to your ear or a walkie talkie to your mouth whilst driving? Genuinely curious if holding a walkie talkie is allowed?
Bit of a fail in the design - soap & paper towel at the back with the water in the side door!
Nice one Tom!

Bloody show off 😀 Well jealous mate, would love my van to be that organised, need to step my game up I think.
Hi had all my vans done well worth the money looks amazing
Hi Tom, any reason you went with this other than the bott smart van racking like lots of the plumbers/electricians on UA-cam ?
I've Sortimo in my van too, but in the future, maybe I'll take a look at Syncro System
Looks good, I did notice you need to take the top off your phone holder for it to correctly fit.there is a release mechanism on the back.
Looking awesome man, keep the videos coming.
Looks smart but what happens when you go to change a 8 ft twin flou fitting, where do the tubes go to take for recycling?
i have to cut a small section of the dividing bulkhead out at floor level to slide long objects in, or put a flap hinged door on it, exactly for things like tubes or unistrut etc. i'll show it on another vid
Great setup, no wonder your over the moon :-)
We're gunna have to see this thing fully loaded out with your gear someday:D

Nice Van, Thomas , very bling ey !👍
Great to see smiley toms
Looks amazing . Would be interested in knowing the cost ?👍
Albert Steptoe £3k per van..... at a guess, a mate had his long wheel base sprinter done and didn’t get any change out of £7k
A hell of a lot.
I reckon about £5 k.
Probably a couple of g’s lol
He may of got some sort of deal with them by recording the vlog & showing the viewers around & talking about the products etc
