@@BigJeffAudio man I love how "hands on" you are with customers and with anyone doing tests on the products you sell! I'll be making an order this summer when I build my 4 12 setup in my Civic!
I'm wondering if motor force had something to do with it, I've seen the bigger subs struggle with the free air rated test, pretty sure Parker nuked a Zv6 as well. Just a reminder to everyone the rms rating is for the rated box space for the driver. The free air test Parker does is brutal, but fun to watch. Buddy has 6 of these 15's on a pitbull 20k in a blowthrough absolutely smashes, drivers are very responsive, and sounds amazing while still smashing the lows.🤙
I agree with you 💯 Big Jeff. I'd say Parker should run the full test again with fresh equipment. That amp could've very well caused the issues. Thanks for the video Parker. ✌️
Happy to see one of our subs featured on the channel. As for a few of the misconceptions, I can explain. Motor assembly = weight of the entire magnet. It is not stated as oz of the discs. But they are triple 9" wide slugs and 1" tall. The reason for the terminals being mounted like that was to maximize the spider landing area. And it is a snug fit, but if it goes south, we do keep spares. The sealing gaskets were used on the V1, but people were raving about the aluminum ones. So for the future we will offer the eva foam tape gaskets. The xmax is solely based on coil overhang position. Some add 30% to that measurement, which would make it 30 mm (1.2"). As it says in the manual, it is highly advisable to have the sub broken in before applying full power, especially when you are doing low notes below the subs fs. Still I'd say the sub did well considering the coil rub and it got loud! Thanks for the testing
My son has a kicker 12 solo X took about 6 months for him to break that speaker in running about half of power because we accidentally got a 2 ohm instead of a one but I couldn't believe the difference of the sound from when we first hooked it up to a few months later
@@BentleyVandenberg-p7uActually he does do it off camera and he states this each time he mounts a new sub that he will drive around and listen to it for a week or two before doing the testing! Pays to pay attention 🤷♂️🤦♂️
I love your videos, Parker! You do a great job of explaining the features and benefits of the products you review. I especially like the way you integrate the product into your setup and show how it works. Keep up the good work, and keep on bassin'!
I wouldn't mind seeing it, but they are just too damn expensive and they don't like to have more than 1000 watts a piece on them, so you would kinda have to get 2 of them to maximize cone area and run them at .75 ohms on a smart 3k bass turned down a little or maybe a JP23v1 at .75 ohms since you can't rely on pure power to get good spl scores. I might rather see four W6v3 15's of they even make them in the 15" size. Cone area is definitely king when it comes to getting loud with a high sound quality brand like JL. Four W6v3 15's on a smart 3k bass would probably be about perfect if those are 600w to 750w each. I've heard some really loud JL setups, but they all have to do it with cone area because the subs don't take a lot of power like modern 3.5"-4" coil subs do

Finally!!! Been wanting to see something from B2 on the Channel🤩. I had the exact same thing happen to my system last year. My Memphis MOJO Pro started rubbing because something slipped outta alignment. Thankfully it didn't take out the amp, the sub wont get loud anymore & it cuts out. Oddly enough i was only running 550watts on it when it went(supposed to take 750RMS) Memphis replaced the dual2 with a dual4 that o haven't even hooked up. Infact its still in its box it came in. I ended up grabbing a Avatar STU on sale($300 even) while i was waiting on the replacement. I was running the Memphis on a 2.0cuft box while it calls for a 2.5cuft. i ended up getting a Ground Shaker 2.5 30hz enclosure for the replacement Mojo Pro but never swapped out the Avatar system. Im only feeding it 1300watts, which is well under the 3000 it calls for. But it hits way harder than the Memphis ever did. Im waiting on a alternator upgrade before i drop my JP23v2 in to feed the Avatar what it wants. My only complaint is the Memphis played a much wider array of hz, where the STU cant. It only likes the Low Lows, everything above a certain point sounds like trash. Eventually once the alternator is in i plan to upgrade to a Death Penalty, X12v3, AB Godzilla, or something heavy duty and keep the Avatar as my Backup sub & the Memphis as my Back Ups Back up.

Yes.give them 2-3 yrs they are replacing skar. Y35 motor from entry to smackdown series obviously then neo series. 4" coils on the entry and 5" on the neos. From what I'm seeing they take the pwr
Yeah, for a 3 inch coil that is very aggressive rating, but it took it like a champ. I think those products from B2 are made for high end systems obviously nobody’s gonna be hammering their stuff like that and the normal environment overall, just a beast of a sub and beautiful very nice quality
Very expensive subs but I’d love to see an Fi Neo sub tested. I’ve got a Neo 4.7 15” running on a smart 5. Best numbers today are 148dB at 25Hz with the meter on the headrest.
The problem is that power is super cheap compared to the 90s. So we have massive power hungry subs now. To be fair efficient or not, car audio is at its loudest right now
Efficiency is a beautiful thing but old school subs cant crush the lows and make a windy build. The way new subs can move to hit high SPL notes in the 30’s and 20’s is impressive nowadays
@reson8q You could reproduce the same db/spl to a certain degree. If you did 150 in the 90s you were amongst the loudest. These days 150db is reproduced with a pair of 10s or 12s. Not to mention all the 160-180db builds we have in this era, unheard of in the 90s. Also, the newer term labs are harder to put numbers on.

Looks like a great sub. I'd say re-cone it and bass on. What killed it was hitting x-mech. The box was tuned too high to support the cone at lower frequencies. With a box tuned for the range you play it in, I bet I would take that 3500w all day long. Wish I could afford to build a setup with some of those. The tests Parker does here definitely bring the excitement. Nice man 👍

it looks like a nice car & fun car. I have my 1990 eagle talon tsi I have had since back in highschool. The fourms dsmtuners have helped me so much. Beating up on new modern v8 cars with a 34 year old 4 cylinder is great lol. Can be a headache tho
It was maxing out worse on lower frequencies. Which any sub will do unless it is insanely stiff. Another reason I mentioned this is not a extreme low end monster
@@ParkerTheBassheadSubsonic fixes that, but they're right. Had 2 DS18 2000w RMS on 5k never bottomed out. Moved to 7k , clackety clack. Added 3rd sub, ohm drop boosted 7k to almost 11k but no bottoming out.
Cadillac hold sound in very good. And hardly rattle. I had a 04 back in the day and had 4 12inch w3 with a huge 2400w viper amp that thing hardly rattled but I blew the truck latch in half a couple times.
I feel you just can't go wrong with deaf bonce. I have 2 avatar stu 12s in a 5.5 cube box, 8 inch aero, tuned to 28hz with a jp83 at 1 ohm and it never bottoms out . Only got it stinky a couple times which is unusual for the power in a box that is 50 percent larger than recommended. Great subs. Built to beat on.
Nice but I like Resilient Sounds Platinum better. I got a 3" 8 layered flatwound aluminum voice coil thats way better than any 4 layered coil. It's strong as 2 3" coils🎉 Also retry the last test again when you recone it. Wasn't very fair to put a damaged subwoofer with a bent coil former from over excursion. I had the same thing happened to my 18" American Bass Godfather series subwoofer. After a few low frequency test tones tuned up all the way it hit the coil on the back of the motor then when I played it next the coil former wasn't aligned correctly. Then eventually the coil didn't move at all because it was stuck in the coil gap. I took it apart and found out the bottom of the coil was damaged and the part of the coil former was bent from over exceeding the subwoofers Xmech.
What you really need to work on is your electrical, not changing your amp. The BB8 really shines at 15v+, you are correct about it throttling itself when it clips, just tune it to not clip.
put some concrete board up on the wall to mount your amp too. In case the amp catches fire it won't burn your shop down. Also the coil looks like the same one that's used on skar
It just means it has reached its max excursion... not clipping. Excursion is how far the soft parts can travel in and out. Clipping is when the amp is sending a squared off sound wave to the speaker/driver.
Honestly. That was the most I've ever seen a sub move on less than a thousand watts. I'm not sure why it can't handle more power though? Seems like an extremely well built sub.
maximum power without an enclosure as it can severely damage the speaker due to the lack of controlled air pressure needed to produce proper bass, potentially causing the voice coil to burn out or the cone to physically damage itself; an enclosure is crucial for optimal sound quality and to protect the subwoofer from excessive strain at high power levels.
That's crazy, sorry about your amp man. Hopefully you can get it repaired. It really does feel like ever since everything changed with them they just been raising the prices, & I've been hearing of more failures in the past 6 mo or so than I ever heard about before. This was actually one I always wanted, I went with the RS Platinum 12's over the rage XL's(both were $420-$499ea at that time) & honestly was always kinda wishing I tried the B2. This is what happens when you try to make every penny you can. Their rep has taken a huge hit, at least in my area.
My beef with B2 is their deciptive sensitivity ratings. Most car audio is 1W/1M but B2 uses home audio 2.83V...and before someone says they dont... I talked to B2 about it. The real Sens is 4-6 db lower depending on the VC impediance.
My b2 rage 15v3 d2 is 90.6 db, but the d1 is 82 db. So you think it's really rated around 86 db? That's some bs if that's true because that was a deciding factor when I bought it. I payed $395 so im not too mad about it. If that's true though what you say then I wonder why these b2s are louder on burps and playing music than most subs of this size.
Please make a test of the iconic JL 13W7. I've read multiple times that it can handle way more power than it's rated. It's also said that the x-mech is around 50mm. Greetings from Germany.
Sub didnt do bad just been thrown in a box. But will def perform better in a accurate built box. Would do great in a 6th order to get those lower notes better for better bandpass
@ParkerTheBasshead I have seen that video very in depth but I hear so many people saying that they can hear a difference with the dampening and quality of the sound. Just curious because I have never been able to compare the two in person. I just found out that a class a/b has more clarity and depth they call it more "fidelity" than a class d both full range
5:05 Me either, only way it happens is the ones that play 15 hz in a 30 hz tuned box n making it flop over its xmech Putting alot of stress on the surround especially when it dimples
No amp protection can prevent catastrophic destruction when outputs are shorted at high power! That is the risk of pushing a driver to and beyond its limits both mechanical and thermal. If the voice coil comes apart and shorts the amp's outputs you lose the driver and amp. Fortunately the (amp) repairs are usually straightforward. UNLESS you dump that cheap drychem extinguisher into the amp! That will really be bad for the amp and I would ONLY do that if there is a fire that spreads to your vehicle/test bench/etc. For this reason I recommend a CO2 extinguisher. Yes they are more expensive but they won't destroy your electronics and make a big mess AND a partial discharge doesn't require a full recharge/refill like drychem. It's a win/win.
@@HashDogg06 That won't stop the amp from destroying its outputs in the case of a sudden short at near full power unfortunately. Fusing a speaker will protect the speaker voice coil from thermal destruction if the amp's power grossly exceeds the thermal capacity of the voice coil however.
Presumably, the lower the ohm load the more power you’re throwing at subs, hence the bigger box recommendation. Though, typically smaller boxes handle more power, the bigger box will be louder all things equal.
As much as i like slinging shit around, that coil definitely got damaged when it bottomed out during testing. Would it have taken 3500w for much longer on a good coil? probably, but not for long
I have 2 of these XL's in 15 and those coils take ungodly amounts of power, but the right box is for all subs the most important, then the power and then the monkey driving the controls haha

How do you like the v1 XL Rage 12. I heard they are better for lows
@richardwilson5944 I would say you would get more linear excursion out of the v2 and the parameters on the v2 does lows no shame
@richardwilson5944 i have two rage xl 15's on an 8k at 1 ohm in a walled honda civic. Around 8.5 cubes net at 32 hz with a 10" big ass port. Switched from a sundown nsv4 18. I wanted something that could play a wider frequency range. Pretty intense hair tricks as well. Im very happy!
Owesone vídeo. Nice sub... For the bench brutal test put Taramps on because theyr have better (quiker)protection system...hold better short's👍
Thank you so much for doing this review!!!!!! I appreciate it greatly
Glad to hear it man!!
I see your wrx in some videos. what all is done to it?
@ has an STI 257 engine I built for it a few years ago. 6 speed swap and brembos. Interior out of an v7 JDM STI. Unfortunately haven’t had much time to mess with it lately but was a lot of fun building!
it looks like a nice car & fun car. I have my 1990 eagle talon tsi I have had since back in highschool. The fourms dsmtuners have helped me so much. Beating up on new modern v8 cars with a 34 year old 4 cylinder is great lol. Can be a headache tho
Man i can't wait until you try the new NVX XCW when it launches next month
Look i to resilient sounds platinum v1. Its a hard hitting beast
If if bottoms out on 1k how can it handle 10k max?
@JohnWalsh2019 It can't thats why I run fi psi dd and sundown audio lol
It was maxing out worse on lower frequencies. Which any sub will do unless it is insanely stiff. Another reason I mentioned this is not a extreme low end monster
@@ParkerTheBassheadSubsonic fixes that, but they're right. Had 2 DS18 2000w RMS on 5k never bottomed out. Moved to 7k , clackety clack. Added 3rd sub, ohm drop boosted 7k to almost 11k but no bottoming out.
you put it in the right enclosure.....
In B2 Audios defense, I don't think Parkers enclosure was exactly to spec for the woofer, which caused it to bottom out on lower power
Cadillac hold sound in very good. And hardly rattle. I had a 04 back in the day and had 4 12inch w3 with a huge 2400w viper amp that thing hardly rattled but I blew the truck latch in half a couple times.
They make beautiful equipment and they are beast
Parker much respect to you bro try and have the American bass king 12 on your channel keep up the good work bro
I would like to have a King on here!
@ 🙏
Ill be honest ive had many subwoofers and I still personally love the HOOL-X 4000w rms 12-inch subwoofer. Nothing beats it especially for the price.
I think this sub still did pretty good given that it’s brand spanking new and being put on a ton of power! Shoutout to B2! 🫡🔊
Ill be honest ive had many subwoofers and I still personally love the HOOL-X 4000w rms 12-inch subwoofer.
Es una bendición escucharte en español 😁😁
Yessir the new translator is pretty cool!!
Fuse the speaker cables. Saves the amps for testing
you should use the bass knob to control the tweeters
You could would not hurt anything as long as the amp is set correctly.
"Another sub up in smoke" I love this channel.
could you do a review on the resilient sound v2 15 or 12
Like Jim Carrey said in the mask, "SMOKING!" 😂
Hahahah classic!
Lmfao 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Would love to see you get one of the new Bass Blaster subs coming out by Sparked Innovations!
Ive had my eye on them!
Parker, you should really start doing something at the end of your videos for us OG fans that watch the whole video.
please review a directronix dreamsicle when you get a chance.. would love to see what they can do, they seem like really nice reasonably priced subs..
What a good 8 or 6½ for a side by side / UTV sub that will hit hard and not kill my Wallet
any because it's go free are per say all open so no need to spend a lot on a side beside any thing open like that
So glad I didn't get that thing , my resilient sound gold V2 15 is awesome. I've been asking to see if Parker gets one of this or the RS platinum .
What you really need to work on is your electrical, not changing your amp. The BB8 really shines at 15v+, you are correct about it throttling itself when it clips, just tune it to not clip.
Another great review! Would have liked to see the damage to the inside of the amp. Thanks Parker!
Super test comme d habitude ✌️
put some concrete board up on the wall to mount your amp too. In case the amp catches fire it won't burn your shop down.
Also the coil looks like the same one that's used on skar
Dd 712 E or F are some sick bass elements 😎🤘🏼
Let Big Jeff know I also want to test out a B2 rageXL 12. 😉😉
I have bottomed out my rage 8 v1's many times. It hurts the soul a bit each time, but they just keep taking it.
You need to do more 15s,love the lows
👍✨⚡💯 what is the song at 23:15 when you started using fast forward x8....?🤔
that jp sub wasnt rattling that panel in the garrage, it ws mechanical noise all the way through
I guess I'll stick with sundown haha. Sorry that happened dude, thanks for always posting the good and the bad.
I have a b2 neo 18 with sundown parts
Had it in a 6th order as well
Wish i had bettee footage of the whole build
Parker....have you ever tried SLAPZ? I have a few 15s and I love them!
I did the slapz Oblivion 15 review on my channel! It's pretty good! 🔥🤟🏽
Thank you. I do aswell
Great video as always. Im thinking the amp going up in flames actually shows how brutally you can treat those amps.
If the speaker surround starts making dimples does that mean it is clipping? I am new and trying to learn as much as I can.
It just means it has reached its max excursion... not clipping. Excursion is how far the soft parts can travel in and out. Clipping is when the amp is sending a squared off sound wave to the speaker/driver.
@CrystalClearSQL ohhh, okay, Thank you.
Aqui no Brasil o SubWoofer nao e muito Usado , mas os woofers sim, por exemplo o "EROS Panzer 5k 18 polegadas"
Honestly. That was the most I've ever seen a sub move on less than a thousand watts. I'm not sure why it can't handle more power though? Seems like an extremely well built sub.
Been waiting for this
It would be neat to see you rebuild these subs after they go up in smoke!
Geez bro! 😂 You sent everything! Great video homie! 🤟🏽🔥
maximum power without an enclosure as it can severely damage the speaker due to the lack of controlled air pressure needed to produce proper bass, potentially causing the voice coil to burn out or the cone to physically damage itself; an enclosure is crucial for optimal sound quality and to protect the subwoofer from excessive strain at high power levels.
Yessir agree. This is an extreme test for sure and pushes sub to their limits so y’all can see what they can and can’t take
That's crazy, sorry about your amp man.
Would love to see you review a resilient sound platinum v2 12 😮
I would like a review of the Trinity subwoofer M series.
Please try the brand Excursion RXD series subwoofer. They say they subs are 5k rms!
Rage XL 12 is big, but the one I've been looking at is the Rampage 12🌭🌭🌭🌭
That was crazy. Lots of wattage though. KEEP BASSIN ON
Please make a test of the iconic JL 13W7. I've read multiple times that it can handle way more power than it's rated. It's also said that the x-mech is around 50mm.
Greetings from Germany.
Sub didnt do bad just been thrown in a box. But will def perform better in a accurate built box. Would do great in a 6th order to get those lower notes better for better bandpass
wondering how hot that coil got, I just got a rage 15 v3 and on low power it gets hot already (I'm very careful with the breaking in process)
Im curious if you hear a sound quality difference between a half bridge vs the full you are running
Personally I don’t. Barevids made a good video comparing quality of both
@ParkerTheBasshead I have seen that video very in depth but I hear so many people saying that they can hear a difference with the dampening and quality of the sound. Just curious because I have never been able to compare the two in person. I just found out that a class a/b has more clarity and depth they call it more "fidelity" than a class d both full range
25:43 All hail the magic smoke!! 😂
I use the chipeo 12k and they put out power 💪🏿
Yessir!
You try the resilient sound team speakers
I have not yet
shove toothpicks soaked in wood glue in the un used screw holes. re-tap the ones you need w appropriate pilot bit
5:05
Me either, only way it happens is the ones that play 15 hz in a 30 hz tuned box n making it flop over its xmech
Putting alot of stress on the surround especially when it dimples
Test out some BAMF12s nice budget sub, supplying 1750 rms.
I did one several years back!
You can put fuses inline of the speaker wires.
@@HashDogg06 That won't stop the amp from destroying its outputs in the case of a sudden short at near full power unfortunately. Fusing a speaker will protect the speaker voice coil from thermal destruction if the amp's power grossly exceeds the thermal capacity of the voice coil however.
What a beautiful sub! 😍🔉
Did you send the amp out for repair?
I'd say get a DD audio 700 series.
Presumably, the lower the ohm load the more power you’re throwing at subs, hence the bigger box recommendation.
Though, typically smaller boxes handle more power, the bigger box will be louder all things equal.
Interesting! Maybe so
You should make a video of the fi Mt series
Slapz Car Audio Smackdown 12" or 15". Check them out, definitely a Budget Gem.
Would love to see this sub and or amp 8k from them
Oblivion also
As much as i like slinging shit around, that coil definitely got damaged when it bottomed out during testing. Would it have taken 3500w for much longer on a good coil? probably, but not for long
Yessir something got knocked out of whack!
Very good content!✨👍
I have 2 of these XL's in 15 and those coils take ungodly amounts of power, but the right box is for all subs the most important, then the power and then the monkey driving the controls haha
