I love the air-conditioned bus ride from Ekkamai to Pattaya. Get some food and drink, recline your seat, and relax. And all this for about four dollars! You can't beat that.

I used Bells bus services. It was cheap and quick. We arrived near to Pattaya and switched to some small minibuses which took us the rest of the way. My drop off point was Soi Dianna which was a short walk from the Billabong guesthouse which is where I was staying. That was in 2011. But I've mostly used taxis since.
Brilliant for the lone traveller, big savings compared to taxi prices and more leg room

Great Vlog again. Your notes are extremely valuable. Also, Sutus Court 5 is usually around $9 or $10 at night, plus you have a pool and hot tub to use. Cheers.

I remember a time when you use to stay in all the fancy hotels like the gig hotel in Patong and Siam Siam in Pattaya. What happened to you mate?
I'm still trying to this day to understand Thailand/Vietnam bathrooms. When you go take a shower, there is no bathtub+curtain or glass box, so... every time you shower you flood the entire bathroom? I see there is a sink on the floor but still... probably get the entire floor wet

BKK to Pattaya or Korat is a long, long ride. Sleep as much as you can.
The price has been 80 baht since the Vid. All the moto prices seem to have gone up by an arbitrary 20 baht.
today best way to go have used bus several times cheap and clean. took 4 hour train even cheaper. will be nice when high speed train starts in 2 years

Very nice indeed. Is it easy to get a regular taxi from the Pattaya bus terminal as I've never been keen on mototaxis?
50 baht for the communal baht bus delivers you right to your hotel anywhere in central Pattaya. You have to wait for them to fill up and the journey can take a while if the traffic is bad. I haven't double checked this price post covid.
I remember watching a Mark Wiens video where he dumped so much spice on his food and happily popped a bolus of it into his mouth I almost fainted
Sutus Court hotel is my go-to. Room is much bigger than yours for about the same price.
Might be worth getting a bicycle helmet for these motorbike taxi rides. Don't weigh much and definitely better than nothing.

Interesting video. Lived in Pattaya for a few years. Your room is a bit of a dive though. Search around and you kind find a much better room than that.
I was in a tight spot and the location was perfect. At least the room was clean ;)
I've eaten at Phed Mark a few times, the food is great.
I think I should have gone for the pork. Unfortunately, my chicken wasn't very fresh which is another reason for the average rating :(

Communal baht bus for 50 baht direct to any hotel in Central Pattaya (I've not double checked this price post covid)

What app are you using to measure the speed of the bus?
Speedometer app. I like to check it sometimes when on trains, planes, boats etc... I used it on a takeoff at BKK airport recently and it was surprisingly accurate! :)
The bus is so cheap that you could easily buy 2 together and sit alone.
I've actually done that in the past when I didn't want to put my bag in the storage below :)
I'm surprised at the number of folks still wearing masks (for that thing) even when its below their nose or chin. Not for pollution as some would argue as hardly any wore them in Bkk's old vlogs.
