In this era I'd never get a SIM card from the airport, just wait until you get to Pattaya and there's far cheaper options. Also my hotel of choice is D-Appartments just off Soi Buakhao opposite the road for New Plaza, turn right at the 7/11. It has far larger immaculately cleaned daily, balcony, Aircon, ceiling fan, etc with a rooftop pool for 900 baht.

I stayed in an 8 dollar room one time to see what it was like. It was stinking hot in there even with the fan, and the shower was sort of cool but not cold. If you had to do it you could. At least, you would have a place to sleep and bathe.

I'm betting you know this, but you can get the AIS sim cards significantly cheaper outside of the airport. Only issue is you won't have data for the bus ride.

The ATMs in Pattaya take 220 baht fee plus $20usd from my bank plus 7% on the exchange rate. Same in Palawan. I finally just opened accounts in each country.
Cash is still king 👑 in Asia just stay in a hotel with a safe no problems aeon bank look for the purple ATM's there fees are 150 baht 😂 !

Loads of great cheaper and better location hotels than the one you picked. D Hotel or D Apartments, generally around 800 baht for example 😊. For longer stays, can get a decent condo for a month, around 6 to 10,000baht a month! There’s a few good gyms for 100baht a day! Can I suggest, next time your in Pattaya, finding a good massage place, chat to the ladies, some will speak enough English to have a conversation, then have a foot massage and if you really like the girl ask her for a date when she finishes work and go to a bar or restaurant, she would love it I’am sure!
