I've never been much of a comedy lover BUT this movie changed my entire outlook on comedy . Absolutely one of the very best movies Ive ever watched !!!
Please someone petition for this movie to be selected for preservation in the National Film Registry for its music, costume design, and its overall depiction of depression era America.
The look on his wife's face is even more priceless when she realizes the man she's been criticizing & castigating as a no-goodnik is a talented singer with a hit song in a band, beloved by hundreds, if not thousands, of the local residents.
The last scene with the very young Peasall Sister's tied together was so southern. I forgot just how they have grown up to adulthood now. If you want to hear more of their singing just enter their name here and enjoy some pure gospel music.

3:36 - 3:50 Based on the other actors’ reactions to Clooney’s dance, I like to think that he completely improvised it on the spot without telling anyone.
The Infidel Maybe I worded it wrong. I meant that I assume Clooney wasn’t meant to dance that particular way, hence the reactions of the other actors. It’s too perfect to not happen that way.
@@JimmySteller Clooney was still drunk from partying the night before that is why the reactions look so real, they are. Entire set was shocked! It worked soo good.
The extras in the audience appear to be genuinely enjoying themselves. Clooney is like that favorite goofy brother or cousin that we can't help but laugh at.

Tales of Ulysses, I caught on right away thanks to an English Teacher back in 6th grade! Full of tales, legend and here say! One of my favorite movies of all time! Besides, George Clooney dancing is the funniest damn thing I seen in a long time!
It always cracks me up how he just whips out some yodeling and gets applause... and then how they dip in for their backup vocals for man of constant sorrow... i wish me and my friends could whip out a show like that.
Love the Cohen Brothers. John Taturro has got to be the coolest actor in Hollywood. From DO THE RIGHT THING to this movie, well, he just shows his unbelievably talent.
The best part is when Clooney runs up to the mic and sees all the people laughing and stomping and gets that “who the hell are these people?” Look on his face.
I've heard of that jail house in the neighborhood of B . Sounds like a rough neighbor hood but smooth music. Word play is part of music and poetry. I love them and the music. I remember growing up seeing Good Will Hunting and O Brother, Where Art Thou? all the time going to video stores, but for some reason we never rented them. Seeing as the internet wasn't really a thing back then, I had no idea what the hell either of these movies were about. Was probably only in the last 1-2 years I saw something that reminded me of them and I decided to watch. Crazy to think out of all the shit we rented we never got these as they are brilliant. I wonder if I'd have appreciated either of them the same way as a child? I don't feel cheated having waited that long however
absolutely one of the greatest movies ever.
without doubt truly brilliant film!!
One of my
Inarguably
I hope to see it sometime 😊

Comedy? I can't say so, it's like life to me
As noted below, comedy hits hardest reflecting life.
Burn After Reading, another gem from Coen brothers

What a fantastic performance! I don't get tired of watching hem!

Seen the movie half a dozen times. Still sends a chill down my spine when George Clooney starts to sing.
All the credit goes to Dan Tyminski
You didn’t actually think that was him singing, did you?
Me 2 love it George was great. In this movie.
He does not sing any of the songs. He lip-syncs.
It wasn't Clooney's voice singing.
Love that look on Clooney’s face when they start up Constant Sorrow it’s like “How in the hell do they know this song?”
Same here...that look is a priceless one.
The look on his wife's face is even more priceless when she realizes the man she's been criticizing & castigating as a no-goodnik is a talented singer with a hit song in a band, beloved by hundreds, if not thousands, of the local residents.
Just so awesome.
well how he could know they are known ,all they did was singing in front a box and got 50 bucks
@@deviltiger00 well technically 60 if you count murt and aloysius who just signed x because only four of them could write
That Turturro's yodeling is something precious. Whole flick is masterpiece.
It’s not him. It’s a voiceover

One of the greatest movies of all time
There can't be any argument to that ......
Amen Sister ~~~Greg
You are so right I Love This movie
Yep
He paid me $10 to sing into his can . Awesome movie best comedy of all time.
Music didn't only come back....... but liberated many souls.
Seriously this movie got me interested in Blue Grass. Love it.

That look Everett gets when he sees they're a hit: 'You will find treasure though it's not the treasure you seek...' or however it went.
I send a ray of warmth straight from the heart and I want him to welcome you in your thoughts, setting a trace of joy for every moment.
One of the best films going. This is my favourite clip.
I love drinking (wild turkey) while listening to good ole Blue Grass.
It takes me back to Little Texas when I was a kid
Too sweet it has to be Jack Daniels or Jamesons ( Irish )
A great movie, heck of a story and great acting, fantastic soundtrack. Could watch it right now.
@stevejulian
"heck of a story" For once Homer is appreciated.
My second favorite movie...what an amazing production...and my favorite George Clooney flick...

True
I haven’t seen this movie in decades, makes me wanna watch it again, the dancing is legendary... like Travolta dancing and Van Damm dancing
George Clooney's best movie.
P J 1 really? I liked perfect storm . This is good too.
Burn After Reading is also a good one, but this has it beat by a ways.
What about the Fantastic Mr. Fox!? Lol
It's pretty solid here, but I think his better performance is in From Dusk Till Dawn
It always cracks me up how he just whips out some yodeling and gets applause... and then how they dip in for their backup vocals for man of constant sorrow... i wish me and my friends could whip out a show like that.

3:22 the moment she realized he was bonafide.
As a singer and guitarist THIS is the kind of music I want to write and perform with a group, but no one in my school or area is down :(
@adobeelvistek3909quartet music like that is passé. It’s specific to a region of the country and a time period. It’s the old time bluegrass music.
One greatest film movie ever made, love this classic film movie and soundtrack 100%.
The best part is when Clooney runs up to the mic and sees all the people laughing and stomping and gets that “who the hell are these people?” Look on his face.
I love this movie its a classic
It took ages for me get my mother to believe that Clooney wasn't actually singing this, she was convinced he was.
It was a common rumor spread around. I was convinced for a short time as well, until I actually watched Dan Tyminski play the song lol
Yup.Dan Tyminski sung this on The Union Station show with Allison Kraus.
Clooney tried to sing it but he couldn't pull it off. Most of this movie was filmed about 25 miles from where I live in Mississippi.
LOL
Nodak81 What!
This group has turned into the best singer ever and just as crazy as the other.just crazy 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜👍👍👍👍👍👍
SUCH a good movie..and a great soundtrack too..
Laughed my arse off, Dam great video. Cloonz was hysterical with the cast they had made this an all time favorite of mine.
Love, love this movie! Truly great acting.
Certainly one of the funniest & clever episodes in a movie ever!!! And terrific music in addition!
You can say what you want about Clooney but nobody could have pulled off this role like him. Perfect.
a perfectly directed, filmed, and acted scene

This was an awesome scene from a classic movie with an incredibly talented cast... But Jimmy Rogers was a rockstar in his day!
One of my all time favorite movies!!
The dancing is so perfect
Wow!every actor play their part so perfect.
Clooneys dance moves are an ancient mating dance.....trust me fellas
I still use it...it works! ;o) LOL
Loved the line:….”these boys interfered with a lynch mob performing their duties….” Hahahahha
The dancing with them beards is a gosh darn turkey swag!
Probably some of the greatest acting and wardrobe ever!
