@@brookemosher9992 if you take the actuator off and you move the temperature knob by the ignition is on, actuator will move back and forth from hot to cold. If you don't see the actuator move, replace the actuator. If you see the actuator move and no adjustment in temperature hot to cool then it is the flap in the air box
I did it perfectly following your instructions. I didn’t have saw but I used knife blade and cut perfectly as like yours. You save my few hundred dollars 💵. Thanks brother.
Hey man! Thanks for the tip. But it worked for me for about 4 days then broke again. I JB welded the original to try to save a couple more $$$ but obviously that didn’t work. Honestly a great tip I would just buy a new door next time.
I'm getting ready to undertake this repair and am grateful for your video I was wondering about not cutting the pivot hole at all. Has the plastic box got enough give to allow it to flex out and allow the blend door to pop into the hole?
@@katsandcardsfanful no. Yeah you got to cut the little blend door bearing hole to get the blend door out. If you flex it outside it could crack and then you'd have a bigger repair
@@alexanderolivera3270 The blend door itself. Yes, this is the only way unless you want to spend $1,000 removing the dash in about 12 hours later. This is the only way
Thank you for your ingenuity. You just saved me $1000. I just got my broken one out. Now for the easy part to put it back together.
No problem!!!!
How do I know if it's the actuator itself or if it's that big flap thing. Lol. This thing is driving me nuts

It took me about 5 hours all in but I got it fixed and my girl has heat. Great cheat code!

Do you have to remove the blower box so it will fit in
Great video! Question for you.. to get the heat working does the vent door has to facing up or down?…. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 😅

how deep can the blade go in while cutting that section out before it hits something it should not hit
about 1 inch
How much do you cut out so it can fit and do I have to cut the door
you do not have to cut the door. and just use a marker where i cut on the plastic
@ ok because the dealership wants $2500 to do the job I don’t have
I am sick of the cold coming in
