    It's a Danze Parma series. I love it! It was like $500 I think in the stores... I got it on EBAY, for $129 (starting bid) it was misspelled, so I was the only bidder. :) Probably a lot cheaper now. It's been like 3 years.

    I totally did my hummus wrong in my Vitamix, I soaked my chickpeas overnight and today I just threw them into my Vitamix, and I used the same water it was soaking in and added it to my container and blended it. I hope I don't get sick lol

    • @SurJones
      @SurJones  10 років тому

      So did you get sick? Hope not! yea totes boil them first! Some people even let them sprout and then make into hummus....It's apparently pretty time consuming :)

    You never should blend with the tamper in as the blades are designed to create a vortex and pull the ingredients down from the top. Use the tamper if its needed but remove it and give a good blitz.

    How hard is it to get it all out of the blender and then get it clean? Does a lot get stuck at the bottom?

    Haha, you won't see a video from me until I get my first Vitamix that's why I'm here admiring yours, but I do make hummus a lot with the kitchen food prep machine I currently have. To each his own and your recipe does sound good.

    what model is that and will it make nut butter
    ? That hummus looked great! I want a vita that will liquify green drinks, make nut butter, ice cream,soup, maybe mix thick batter for cookies?

      That was the 5200- and yes! See my videos where i make some very Creamy peanut butter :)

    • @SurJones
      @SurJones  7 років тому +1

      the 5200 will do a good job, but of course the 75 Pro is boss, which is why I upgraded. the smoothie button rocks, hit and walk away for a min. If you purchase would be humbled if you use my code! thanks so much for commenting! rock it out!

    I have a Vitamix and I love it, but there are a couple of places where they missed the mark. First, the measurements on their container are very difficult to read. You have to hold it just right or scrunch down to try to read the measurements. Had they gone the extra mile like BlendTec and made the markings black, it would very much increase the user-friendliness of the machine. Another problem is that the lid is difficult to work with if you have small, weak, elderly or arthritic hands. My hands are small, so I often struggle with the lid. Individuals like the maker of this video and the official Vitamix guy on QVC obviously don't have this problem. Since you don't see them struggle with the lid, you don't know that it might be a problem for you until you get it home and begin using it.
    All in all, I'm very glad to have my Vitamix, but there's still room for improvement. I just wanted to issue a fair warning for those with small, weak, elderly or arthritic hands and for people who prefer to have their measurement markings easier to read .

    No I dont like gritty hummus. Perhaps mine isn't traditional in that. I can't tell you how creamy it is. Sooooo good on baby carrots or homemade veggie chips. I would love to see a video on you making yours. Maybe sample? hehe

    Nothing. The Turboblend VS name is used by retailers, but it's the exact same machine as the 5200.

    Good video - but couple of pointers, when making a recipe, try to avoid touching your nose or eyes, no matter how briefly, cuz it's (sorta gross). Also, waaaay too much talk, 10 minutes? Do it in 3 or 4 and you're golden. :-)
