Well it was, obviously, but I think, going by what I believe the song is about, that this was a thought made by the concious mind and it's the subconcious mind that deceives them. (you can ignore this part if you are not interested in my perception of the story and are satisfied with the answer I already gave) I believe the song is about dissociation and PTSD. I think the main vocals are the concious mind expressing their panic and (during the chorus) trying to calm themselves down during a dissociative state, while the more aggressive background vocals (during the chorus and bridge) are the subconcious mind explaining what its doing to the concious mind. Breaking down the chorus is the best way to support this theory. "We confuse, tangle and abuse, we appear, memories stuck in your mind" is all the subconcious mind. Confusing you with abusive thoughts that are physically harmful. They appear, memories stuck in your mind, as vivid reality. Meanwhile the concious mind says: "Is it a doubt you try to hide? Just have an open look inside. It's just a dreary memory stuck in your mind. Retrieve your balance, use your senses to observe, search for your essence, find the silence within you." These are all ways that therapists tell people who are dissociating to bring themselves back to reality. Focus on what is real and what's around. Both parts of the mind speak of the "essence of silence" and what the "essence is". Because silence is ambigious. It is in complete silence that a PTSD mind can hear chaos (allow the silence to destroy your thoughts in any kind) but it is also silence in which they can find comfort and reality. I think then the other text falls in line as well. The line you mention "I believe that my mind deceives me" is a strong argument in favour of my theory too. People with paranoia, schizophrenia, dissociation, PTSD... they often KNOW that what they see is not real, just when they are in the moment they cannot convince themselves of that truth.

"I believe that my mind decieves me."
So was that thought produced by the mind or not?
it could have been, but it may have been a lie

It's only possible if Nihilism is possible, which currently isn't.
