In this video, I take a bulldog image and create a pet portrait on canvas out of various kinds of paper. This DIY collage tutorial results in a mixed media beauty and can be a great gift for you dog lover friends. For this DIY project, here are the materials I use:
~ canvas
~ decoupage glue
~ various papers (scrapbook, book pages, music, wrapping paper)
~ carbon paper
~ sharpie

Golden Retriever and Pit Bull
We have a Collie/Coonhound ( who looks just like a Border Collie with a docked tail, no we did not dock it) & our other dog I a Samoyed that has a mustache.
I have a Shih Tzu , a Scottish Terrier and a Bichon Habanero…I really love puppies 🐶🐶🐶🐶😘🇦🇷

What a great idea! I can think of tons of people who would love this. This is an awesome gift idea! And it seems, for the most part, that you don't have to be Piccaso to succeed in making a really cool piece of art.
Late comment but I'll go for it anyway! I'm a Beagle lover myself. I have two Beagles and so many cats I won't admit to the number I have! All my "kids" get along great! I love, love love your project. This is SO fun! Thanks for the inspiration as I'm going to try this myself! I have numerous subjects and it will be fun to use paper that matches their personalities, colors, etc.! TFS!

What kind of decoupage glue did you use? Is it modge podge?
Here I used mod lodge but I often just use white glue with a bit of water mixed in. That works great too! Thanks for visiting! 👋❤️

How do you deal with the wrapping paper not being lightfast?
Hi Mae - applying a coat of decoupage glue over the entire piece helps to protect it. Hope it helps!
