another health halo status: just because something is from Trader Joe's doesn't mean it is automatically healthy!! It's not.
Thanks for sharing!
True!! Their packaging is always so enticing and makes it seem healthier for whatever reason. Whoever came up with the packaging is a marketing genius 😬
Haha so accurate i have so many gulity pleasures from trader joes lmbo
@@Becky0494 lol I think you mean their packaging is "boring" which leads me to think something may be healthier
we don't have them in my country, they have extremely good stealth marketing, they keep coming up in random books and stuff I read, like they wanna be the next coca-cola. I guess we'll have them eventually
Abbey: "Adolescence is Not the Time to Diet"
Me, who dieted all throughout my teenage years because somehow I thought all my problems were connected to being overweight and felt If I just could be skinny I'd be happy: 👁👄👁
😕
Teenage years, either you eat too much or not enough and everyone will have their opinion and make sure you know if often.
i'm 30 now, i used to overweight till my early 20s, i was so insecure and got bullied a lot because of it and honestly felt like crap. i lost a whole bunch of weight because i fell ill and guess what? i still felt like crap
I literally ate iceberg with tomatoes for my launch for like 2 weeks because I thought I had to lose weight (i didn't). Every time I cut up iceberg even now, as a side, I am just baffled about what the hell was I thinking.
I lost all my 85 lbs during my teen years. I don't see an issue with it if you do it properly.
I was 235 lbs at 13 years old and my parents weren't helping me lose weight (hence why I was so big to begin with) so I started being more active, cooked my own meals around 16 years old, and ate smaller portions without restricting too much. I think we have to give some adolescence credit, some are smart enough to eat intuitively (esp. if they get help for it) it IS possible
This is probably going to get lost in the comments but I feel that it's important to share for any other teens watching. I'm one of those people who regularly skipped meals in favor of snacks, but instead of leading to cravings, it led to me severely undereating. I never felt anything was wrong until I ended up in the hospital with a low heart rate. It turns out I didn't go through puberty (I still don't have my period at 16) and my heart didn't gain the strength it should have. Even though you "feel fine", there could be something seriously wrong. Please take care to eat enough food.
Thank you for sharing your experience
Sorry if this is harsh but the fact that you still didn’t go through puberty is REALLY bad. How are you now?
I hope everything is better, my best friend is in the same situation and didn’t get her period until we were 19 and it always bothered her and worried me for her health, after we graduated it turns out it was due to hormone imbalance
I completely stopped puberty and growing in my teens due to an eating disorder, so I know how much this sucks. Food is so so important when you're still a teenager. I'm basically stuck at 5'4" for the rest of my life, which is the height I was at 12 years old. I hate this so much. I also didn't get my first (ever) period until the age of 22. That's how messed up my hormones were. But it also goes to show how amazing your body is at repairing itself if you're treating it right and giving it time
i did the same thing and at almost 23 I'm still trying to make up for the harm i did in my teens
You should do Annie Long if you haven't yet! I'd love to see your opinions on how she eats because I've noticed that I tend to eat like her
I agree but she’s very young so it might come off differently
Yeah I agree
yes!
I agree to ,but it might be different than other UA-camrs
I was thinking the same thing!
I remember being a teen and all of a sudden being afraid to let my peers see what I was actually eating. I would skip lunch on school days and just sit and talk with my friends in the cafeteria because I thought it was “cool” to not eat. No idea why, but it was some weird badge of honor, like “I’m too cool to eat.” Then I would go home and eat normally. Hopefully that’s what is happening in Caroline’s newer video - she’s just trying to make it look like she eats nothing, but off camera she eats like she did in the first video. Peer pressure for teen girls is very strange.
Wow, thank you for sharing. It is definitely very strange!
I would only eat a granola bar at school
Same I went to school for three days in 2020 and I’ve been online for the rest of the time and in those three days I had a sliced up apple for lunch each day
I’m remember when it was “cool” to not eat especially in middle school. I graduated high school in 2003 so that dates me.
Hahaha i remember in 8th grade i had two sets of friends. One group went to lunch and ate everyday, and i was so happy when I would go with them. My 2nd group of friends were too cool to eat, i hated it bcuz i would be hungry 😤 then i decided that I even tho I wanted to spend time with both groups, i wanted to eat everyday too lol! In the end, i decided to eat lunch with my group 1, then the days i wanted to be with group 2, i would go with group 1 to eat. Sadly later found out a friend in my group 2 had an ED :/
Would you ever do a video about what to eat when you have depression (foods to help boost mood), or super easy meals you can make when depressed that are still relatively nutritious? Struggling with this lately and would appreciate your insight!
On the list to do this!
Amazing thank you! Love your videos :)
Or when you don’t have an appetite at all but want to treat your body and soul with love
I'm no expert but kimchi helped me
This would be fantastic as someone who doesn't eat when I'm going through an episode
Just a suggestion: when you mention that certain people "may want to skip this section," post a time stamp for where in the video they can click to to continue watching.
Great idea!
TW: eating disorder
Seeing her newest What I Eat in a Day, makes me feel sad or worried. When I was her age, 16/17, I was in the throws of an eating disorder. I hid it from my family by being vegetarian. I ate pretty much like her, super small amounts but also used laxatives. I was tired and constantly sick and I was also extremely depressed. I remember finally having a light bulb moment during the summer before my senior year, without the stress of school and "friends", that I was feeling MUCH better once I ate a balanced diet. I could go swim and play outside all day, slept great, and felt emotionally stable for the first time ever. I really worry about her mindset right now, why has the change happened? What is she feeling that she thinks she needs to restrict like that? She seems like a bright and shining young lady and she deserves the best for herself. Sending lots of love from Kansas to anyone who may need it right now
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad you're doing better now ❤️
Hey Samantha! As someone who has dealt with an eating disorder (from a males perspective). I can see were your coming from. However, I also believe that everyone needs different fuel for their body. At times now from recovery (I’m 15), I sometimes want other things that certain day or other times I may want to eat other foods. We’re all different and sometimes at times now I have become gluten free and sugar free for my own preference. I love food and don’t have those thoughts as before the others may disagree. I’m more happy now with myself and I am feeling the best I’ve ever felt :))
I love watching these during my lunch. Hope you’re all having a great day friends. ☀️
I'm so glad!
I need the Arbonne video. In fact I need all of the antimlm content from a dietitian. MLM's make a lot of money on diet culture and eating disorders. At the height of my eating disorder, I could have easily found myself being thousands of dollars in debt with beachbody.
Yes please please go off on all the MLM "nutrition" nonsense. I need you to slap my wrist whenever I feel tempted.
Coming soon!
Oh, look up Brianna Jewel in the meantime. She's in school to be a dietitian and a personal trainer. She specializes in beach body takedowns.
Disclaimer, she's definitely anti diet culture, but she's not super on the side of IE, HAES, and isn't on the side of the Body positivity movement
Herbalife too!!
please please please talk about becca bristow in there too! She's an RD but she's so wrapped up in an MLM.
Just realizing how sad it is that I don’t have any pre-diet culture memories like you talked about. I had adults berating me about food choices and weight to the point that I asked for (and received) exercise equipment and paid diet programs for Christmas when I was under the age of 8. Thanks for your videos ❤️
I am so sorry that you had to deal with that during childhood. I think it's a socially acceptable form of child abuse. ♥️
I totally understand. I'm glad they're helpful ❤️
I can relate on some of the things my mother has always pushed me into “dieting “ and I skipped meals for a month but got back on because at this point I really didn’t care and I’m around the age of 10-16 so yea :(
Same here I remember being put on crash diet after crash diet by 9 and always being self-conscious about what I ate by age 7. The sad thing is I was not overweight, just a bit chubby.
I'm so here for anti-MLM Abbey
👍👍
Oh yeah! Anti-MLM Abbey could be a whole series.
the way MLM also stands for men loving men

I find it strange that people don’t wash their hands before eating. Growing up, it was expected of me that I wash my hands before any meal. Still do it...
Same!
Flashback to my grandma lol

Hey, I just want to share that you helped me a tooon on my recovery journey. Intuitive eating is still pretty tough for me but it’s worth it! Your approaching food is such a good influence for me, thank you! You are changing many lives with what you do! 🤍
I'm so glad it's helpful! ❤️
i dont know why people demonize carbs😰 they are my everythingg
Carbs are my soulmate 💖
Very true! Though everyone is different, which is why demonizing one category of food is horrible. Like, a high carb meal makes me bloated, low on energy, so I try to have low to moderate carb meals. But someone else might thrive on carbs and depend on a high carb meal. All dependent on how foods make you feel in my opinion
Agreed!

You talked about how you enjoy food in your teens, and I got a little sad, my relationship with food was the worst when I was younger and it's getting a little bit better now.
I want to thank you for your diet reviews, it truly helps with my journey to healthier way of thinking about food.
Me too
I'm so glad they're helpful!
Aaaaah soooo excited for that. All your videos help me sooo much getting over my difficult eating (don‘t Brand myself as someone who suffers from an Ed tbh) and practice intuitive eating❤️ Thank you Abbey really so much

I'm nearing 22 and am so glad I had creators like you influencing how I view food. I have a really healthy relationship with it and am super glad I found you-- college can be a super weird body and food time and I might've struggled more if I was inundated by diet culture all day
I'm halfway through reading 'Intuitive Eating' I'm blown away. Thank you for bringing this into my life 💖💖💖💖

Perfect timing! It just started snowing here, and I was wondering what to watch. Thanks for the upload 🖤

Literally you are so amazing at the way you articulate these videos and really take the time to make sure that you are taking the creator's feelings and mindset into consideration. This makes me so happy to be a nutrition undergraduate student and future RD. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
I have to say many teens now don’t really have nutritious meals which is sad! They just eat lots of snacks that don’t really count as a meal.
its very common actually with teens.
i used to eat like that and it caused an eating disorder because i felt like i was eaitng sm more than other kids
“Adolescence is not the time to diet.”
Me after my mom tried to make me try every fad diet she’s ever found throughout my teen years
👁👄👁
💧 💧
:( I'm so sorry you had to go through that
it was funny to me when u said “we can all look back to the time when we were young before we were influenced by diet culture” bc I almost died from anorexia when I was 7. I was acutely aware of and insecure about my size since I was 4. I am 18 now and even though I don’t really have any positive memories of my eating habits from when I was young, I’ve learned so much about nutrition and what works for me from my years of treatment.
Thank you for sharing. I'm glad that you've learned what works for you
Omg yes to the arbonne video 🙌🙌 loved this as always 💞
Sound is much better! Thank you so much for continuing to take feedback on board 😊 you’re on a roll.
Thank you!
I swear the industry is doing us wrong in the West when it comes to controlling our sugar intake. You almost have to cut out all packaged food. There’s high fructose corn syrup or added sugar in our bread, condiments, snacks, drinks, everything! The deck is really stacked against us.
Right it’s not right so annoying
That’s why you just don’t buy pacakaged food, it’s not that bad. I do it, I usually avoid chips, crackers, candy and cereal isles but if I want chips I look at the back and can usually find one that has no sugar but taste good, same thing for crackers. No way your going to find sugar free cereal of course. And as long as you eat healthy savory food it’s quite easy. Vegetables, cheese, protein. It’s not that bad...
Hey abbey I'm a teen and I think it's be cool if u could do a "I review" of ur teen viewers meals. I personally would love that so I can get ideas that r good for teens especially since I'm a competitive swimmer and need a lot of fuel.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Oh my gosh same!!! I’m a swimmer and I totally agree! Since I’m a teen and still living under my parents roof so I don’t have much control over what we get for meals in the evening. Like tonight, I ate around 5 grilled cheese’s because I only ate lunch today and swim practice afterwards. There isn’t much of a variety I know of honestly.
I'm a volleyball player and we burn so much (my coaches abuse me.[this is a joke]) and same
Yo I’m a competitive swimmer too! So glad I could find someone like me lolz.
im a competitive dancer, and im in the studio everyday except saturday and this is totally a great idea!!
Honestly, the having snacks instead of meals was definitely me during senior year of high school. I would go to the library and not eat due to poor mental health and none of my friends were in the cafeteria. When people found out, I remember feeling so embarrassed. My English teacher told me I was like a kitten and kittens need to eat and gave me apples everyday and my best friend would ensure I got cereal and a snack cake. Looking back on that now, it is saddening but honestly, I love them so much for caring for me and as a future teacher, I hope to show that care just as much as he did. Love the video!
I'm sorry, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Okay I am so here for this I will be binge watching more tomorrow, I love all the amazing and funny references, will be 100% taking her suggestions/advice and start taking some notes cus I’ve been looking to improve my own diet to become more intuitional rather than scattered throughout the day. I’m loving this and am so looking forward to continuing this bc I am OBSESSED so funny and honest and sincere that can be scarce to come by these days. 🥲🤯🥳
I'm so glad you enjoy them! ❤️
YES!! thank you for calling out "fake healthy foods" haha
I'm glad it was helpful!
I feel like a good option for snacky people maybe would be to think about making almost, tapas style lunches. Think adult lunchables or things like that. I find in those moods if I have a plate of crackers, cheese, salami, a bit of fruit, some hummus and peanut butter, celery sticks and carrots. Just like, a big ol snacky plate that all adds up to a lunch. Lmao.
Great idea!!
Oh yeah! We are big fans of the smorgasbord strategy/approach whenever needed (and sometimes just because it’s easier)!
I love doing this! I find it especially helpful when I’m having a hard adhd day when I can literally forget to eat all day. Having a snack type plate helps me graze at meal time and actually get a meal in.
I do this all the time! I call it charcuterie to feel more bougie. I love quality salami, prosciutto, aged cheese, crackers and a couple different veggies and fruits. I also do Mezze platters with pita, hummus, tzatziki, cucumber, tomato and tabouleh. It’s an easy lunch to throw together and the ingredients last for a couple meals .
@@sallysmith7664 I used tapas cause that's easier to spell lmao
Hi Abby! I love your videos, idk if you done this yet but a video on handling digestive mobility issues I think would be super awesome. I know many friends that have to handle the issues related to being told high fiber whenever they go to doctors but that is the opposite of what they should do with these issues. Putting this out there as I think your platform is great and could help many other people from this pain caused from high fiber diets with GI mobility issues.
I'm all in on looking forward to that Arbonne video!
Yup, coming soon!
I’m not a teen anymore, but up until kinda recently I found myself having days like her newest video regularly because I was straight up too lazy to get up and eat. It wasn’t to follow diet culture or anything but rather just... inconvenient to eat?? I’ve gotten into the routine of making a good, filling breakfast and find that it really helps to kickstart a positive food mindset for the rest of the day. I really wish socmed influencers would prioritize promoting positive relationships with foods rather than “do this to look like me” bc I really think that’s a huge part of a modern teen’s life, especially since now everything has moved online
SAME omg i was just thinking about this yesterday
Today I realized that this lady - Abby she made me realize that my relationship with food started to go a little bit out of hand. I lost some weight since the last year and now Im exactly where I wanted to be, somehow I still wanted to keep losing weight. Today i went to the store and I bought foods I wouldnt usually buy and made a day of enjoying healthy + unhealthy food. I realized that I am where I need to be and that my relationship with food was going down the hill.. I am really happy that I found this channel
I'm so glad it was helpful for you!
This is so good, thank you! My disordered eating started as a teen: making lunch at home to appease mom, and then throwing it out at school. Our whole friend group was influenced by our anorexic friend who said "well... I have this disease because I don't want to look like you." So I ate nothing during the day, while biking 22km a day to get to school and back! Now 12 years later, I'm still a mess when it comes to my body and eating. Cultivating a healthy relationship with food as a teen is ESSENTIAL!
Oh no, I'm so sorry. It definitely is!
As always, thank you for the time and effort you put into these videos.
😊❤️
You could review a What i eat in a day from Diana Malloy. She struggled with EDs in the past and now she has a really good relationship with food :)

To my young ladies, young gentlemen, and non-binary teens, PLEASE do not restrict. When I was a teen, I developed a pretty bad complex around eating in front of my dad. He meant well, but his comments on how much I ate/my size did not motivate me to work out, it made me scared of food. So, I wouldn't eat if he was home. I distinctly remember my mom walking in on me consuming half a loaf of bread, crying, because I couldn't stop eating it. My body was crying for energy and cheap white bread was the easiest, cheapest source. Enjoy ALL food in moderation, go wild sometimes, don't count ANYTHING. Just enjoy your food and don't feel pressured to conform to any standard. Also, I love snack meals and if you do too, start having "hors d'oeuvres" meals. Meat, cheese, crackers, nuts, and fruits but in the quantity that makes up a meal. I would take saltines and make 20-ish peanut butter jelly crackers instead of a sandwich because crackers tasted better. 🤷🏾♀️If you feel out of control when eating, reach out to a trusted adult and don't back down till you get the help you need. You deserve to be happy and healthy. ❤️
Thank you for sharing ❤️
My mom also makes those comments :(
The fact that Abbey said adolescence isn't the time to diet makes me want to cry because all of my doctors since 3rd grade have always told me "eat less, move more" and as a 15 year old, I am still being told that, it makes me wanna cry. I've yo-yo dieted so much and I'm pretty sure my metabolism and self-esteem are destroyed because of it. Why couldn't I have watched Abbey's videos sooner 😞
Omg yes I want the snack tower, I love portioning out my snacks and having a variety.
Same!
when i was her age, i was eating like 3000 calories a day 😂 i remember the fitness coach at my school told me to eat less calories even though i was maintaining my weight at like 90 lb at that caloric intake 😂
same girl same.

Ooh, I like the straight hair! Looks very good. Aside from that, it's sad to see people making the same mistakes as I did (eating too little when I was in my teens because of diet culture/the 1200 calorie diet). It's great that this channel exists to discuss patterns. I'm still getting out of the restrictive eating mindset, and Abby has really been helping me on this journey.
Thank you! I'm so glad it's been helpful for you 😊

A little positive reminder!
You don't know the daily habits of others outside what you see on a day to day basis; As a teen, I used to be guilty about eating A LOT at meals as compared to my peers, but when I spent a day w/ them, it turns out that they prefer snacking whereas I eat 2 large meals a day and feel satisfied with that as compared to small snacks!! Everything is fine as long as you are healthy and keep good mentality luvs~ 🥰😌
I wish I had a carefree view of food when I was younger 😭 I restricted when I was as little as 10 and stopped around 18 to try to better my life. I just want to say that if you’re young, do not let diet culture win. It will only end with more negative than good. You are all beautiful no matter what size you are!!!!
I understand ❤️ and agreed!
ooh you should do annie long! she’s done a collab with linda sun and I love her views and watching her self growth on the topics of food and fitness❤️

I honestly wished someone like you was in my life when I was 13. Growing up in Vietnam where looking like a toothpick is the norm I was constantly ridiculed for my weight (being a bit rounder). I starved myself so much as a teen that I'm still trying to fix my relationship with food now even in my 30s. When I see videos of teen girls "dieting" it really brings me back to my teen self so I do empathize. This is the time when adult intervention is really important.
thank you for raising awareness about this. caroline went to my school and used her fame and fortune as a way to manipulate people. she would constantly post about dieting and pushing this narrative of weight loss to her younger viewers. it always made me uncomfortable.

One of the comments is similar to what I used to do, but it was in middle school and it was a little different. At school, all of my "friends" would skip lunch and breakfast. They all were copying each others behavior and try to one up each other. This led to me physically starving during lunch and breakfast, and I was so physically uncomfortable it felt like my stomach was eating itself inside out. As a result, I went home and constantly was looking for sugary, carb filled foods that would fulfill my cravings. It led to weight gain, making my own self esteem go lower and lower and I began to see how much skinnier my friends were than me. I was constantly lethargic, tired, and in a bad mood.

When I was 14, my most common food choices were: wheat pasta with readymade tomato sauce, white rice with cream cheese or butter & some salt, the cheapest white bread/toast buttered with chives/spring onions and some salt, and warm, soggy coco pops with some banana (it was a phase). Sometimes I got lucky and my mum made some chicken wings. I didn't think about nutrition at all and luckily I didn't have any issues with my weight. My mother was a single mum of two kids and I learned how to cook things like fish fingers, pasta or rice when I was 7. I am so happy that the internet is a thing now and there are reliable experts like you on here. Oh and yes, I have gotten over eating just rice and pasta every day.
Thanks for sharing!
aaahh another great video!! I have a suggestion for a next one: Allegra Shaw 🤩
I'll have a look!
Idk why but I am just obsessed with your hair
Thank you!
I cringed at Arbonne. There are so many shakes out there that are better and less expensive!
Review is coming soon!
Me too (even though I used to buy it).
I agree, but I’m torn - I do buy it BECAUSE it is literally the BEST vegan protein powder I’ve ever tried. I don’t like MLM’s though, so I have my friend (who’s a consultant for them) buy it herself, and I just pay her back 😬 I refuse to use any other of their products. PLEASE give other vegan protein powder recommendations if you have them though cause I don’t wanna buy Arbonne for much longer - looking to save money for sure 😅
@@emilyfarnsworth8322 girl no hate but you're just paying for it with extra steps. You might as well just buy it urself.
@@emilyfarnsworth8322 im vegan too, and i really like the sun warrior protein powder. you can get it at whole foods!
I’d love to see a whole Arbonne video too!!
I say this in the nicest non psycho way. I'm completely obsessed with you. Thank you for being the voice of balance and reason. ❤️
I'm so glad you find my videos helpful! ❤️
I had an eating disorder throughout my entire teen years. I lost my period from the age of 14 to the age of 24. Literally not a single one in this time. I wish I had known the connection between menstruation and bone health. By the age of 21 I had diagnosed osteoporosis of the spine. By the age of 23 I had a severe nerve condition that mean I couldn't walk for almost 2 years. My metabolism is wrecked and my body will never be fully healthy again. To anyone who was like me. Please don't diet in your teens 🙏
Then how can I lose weight ?😭Ill be 15 in 4 days i have lost my period for this whole year, and when I was 13 i lost it for 4 months as well,bc I got stupid tik tok it ruined my life. But anyways TW I lost weight and idk I hope I didnt stunt my growth (im 5'5)
Even as a teen, I never understood how others could survive just on snacks throughout the day. It always made me sluggish and I had no appetite. Breaks between classes are sometimes quite short but you may want to have a proper sit down lunch, if you feel the same way about snacking:)
Agreed! Even if it’s a smaller meal, I feel much more energized (and less “guilty” about eating more)
I understand! Great idea
I'd love to see an Arbonne video....all those skinny tea, supplement, body wrap mlms need to be brought to light.
Also, I'd love to see a review of Autumn Bates.....she's a nutritionist in California but honestly most of what I see is weight loss based....now that could be because it's what sells, especially in that part of the world. I'd just like to hear your take on it
Video is coming soon! And she is on the list
I’m a huge snacker & have always enjoyed eating snacks throughout the day often even more than proper meals. And as a busy mom, I def have trouble sitting down & actually enjoying a meal. I think it’s because I do find so much enjoyment in sitting down so when I can’t, I’ll just snack while doing other things... I’m working on it b/c I do sometimes find myself ravenous later in the day. Meal prepping can help too. ;)
I understand! Meal prepping is definitely helpful
I was forced to diet as a kid and teenager it’s awful. And definitely caused me a lot of anxiety around food... kids and teens should be learning how to intuitive eat.
I'm so sorry 🙁agreed!
Yes I love caro but when I saw her “dinner” my jaw DROPPED
omg i NEED the snack tower thing!!
What I do with my cereal so I don't eat so much sugar is 3/4 of the bowl is filled with plain cheerios and then I add 1/4 captain crunch which is my fav. I still get the crunch and satisfaction of my favorite cereal, but I get the nutrition of the cheerios too and the sweetness level is perfect.
Great idea!
You should review the UA-camr “abtwene” and her what I eat in a days!
On the list!
Yes definitely I love her!
This is so sad. I wasn't thinking about food and calorie restriction and my diet for a SECOND until I hit my 20's. This generation is really tragic and social media is clearly the culprit.
I understand 🙁
As a teenager myself, I’m really interested in knowing if my diet is as balanced/“healthy” as I think it is. I’ve struggled with eating disorders in the past and still find myself getting back into those though patterns. I am sometimes concerned that those thoughts are reflected in my food choices. I THINK that I’ve been doing a lot better this past year, but my friends and family remain somewhat concerned.
Love your channel Abbey!! Will you please do a video at some point on the wellness influencers on social media like Sami Clarke, Nicole Cogan, and Savanna Jimenez?
All are on the list!
Hi Abbey, could you review Pamela Reif's app? There are a lot of recipes and week plans of what she eats in a day❤️
I'll have a look at that!
Can you do Jazmin Tyler? Her videos are amazing and I love her
On the list!
Yesss! As soon as she said Arbonne protein shake I was going to comment on how you should make a video on that company.
Coming soon!
Though I am not a teen anymore, the skipping meals thing is soooo true. When I was in high school, I would have to get up so early to go to school sometimes I would just have a piece of fruit for breakfast and almost always skip lunch meals and go to the library to study or just have a granola bar or pb&j for lunch. I had no money to buy food from the surrounding restaurants/grocery stores (we had off-campus lunch) and public school lunches were always super gross and processed to me. It was more absent-mindedness honestly than trying to restrict or be on a diet. Luckily, I quickly realized I was not eating enough and when I became a vegetarian as a sophomore I started to cook a lot more for myself and meal prep. It helped me be more mindful of my hunger and now I enjoy cooking for myself and know how to make a balanced meal.
