- CORRECTION: Sorry I meant to say 4 million subscribers, not 400 million LOL oops baby brain!!
Hi everyone, welcome to Abbey's Kitchen! In today’s episode of UA-camr reviews, we’re going to be taking a look at, Remi Ashten.
A few disclaimers:
1) The information in this video is for education and entertainment purposes only, so you should always speak to a health care provider about your unique health needs.
2) The recommendations for each individual meal I review is designed to give you a variety of ideas on how to optimize meals for balance, variety and satiety. Whether or not one individual meal or even one day is balanced or “healthy” does not matter in the grand scheme of ones health, especially if a person is eating in response to their physical and emotional needs. I give suggestions as examples and inspiration for you, but you can also gather this data for yourself over time by listening to your own body and figuring out what feels good.
3) Please be kind in the comments, here and on Remi Ashten's channel
4) TRIGGER WARNING: some graphics and discussions may be disturbing to some viewers so feel free to skip this video.
5) Don’t forget to subscribe to this channel and ring the little bell so you never miss out!

Hahahaha I meant 4 million guys, my baby brain. I can’t.
OMG are you STILL pregnant???
GothGirlAtHeart I think she said she 39 weeks
400 million would be larger than Canada’s entire population🦥 our nation need more people🤔
hahaha i know.. my brain. it just cant anymore
Vicki Shang Larger than Canada’s population? 400M would be larger than even the US😂 Canada only has like 37M lol we rly small
Linda Sun is a small UA-camr who is very body positive and intuitive eating. I’d love to see you review her!
I was just about to ask abbie to do that to I love Linda
yessss i just watched one of her videos, the one where each day had a tip, like "cant change your weight from a place of hate" or something, i love her!!
OMG i was gonna ask that too, love Linda ❤️❤️
I love her so much
yes please!!! love Linda!
abbey is the queen of respectfully discussing diets while also calling out bullshit claims by companies
Thank you 😊
Facts. I thought she was going to be one of those insulting people's diets. But no she's very respectful and professional
this perfectly describes her omg😂
Right she’s drops facts just so nicely and chill about it.
It would be interesting to see you review the Kardashians food choices. They show aspects of what they eat throughout their show, and also talk about food which can come across to be quite a negative mindset. Eg. Kourtney being very aggressive pushing her views regarding sugar and ‘candy,’ and it causing tumours and speeding up the ageing process. It would be interesting to hear your perspective
I'll have a look at that
Kardashians promote diet culture and it's awful, because they have huge amounts of followers on their Instagram accounts and lots of people watch their show. They label food as "bad" and "good" and overall they can trigger eating disorders
I’d love to see this too!
Yess I’m happy you reviewed Remi. She has so much diet culture thoughts and pressure to be thin. I feel so bad for her
Hope the video was helpful
I agree. I really enjoy Remi but find her focus on being smaller excessive...however, it’s her journey. I’m mainly glad she isn’t on the workout twice a day train lately
@@trudes4415 Yeah, I got so concerned when she was doing that! If you have to work out intensively like three hours per day to maintain a certain size, it might just not be natural/accessible for your body. We have to accept that sometimes the figure we want to have just isn't something our body is made for.
Trudes AGREED 100%
Because she has pcos, it’s harder for her to maintain a healthy weight. From what I seen, she’s still overweight, not in the healthy BMI index, so if she wants to lose weight, she can.
Abbey thank you so much again for creating the content that you do and really trying to educate and prepare yourself before making your videos. It can be SO easy to get lost in the sea of advice/opinions online and I really value your input!
Thank you so much!
I watch Remi pretty regularly and I've noticed she really loves and eats seafood like salmon and shrimp regularly. So as much as I can tell, she's getting a lot of vitamin d and omega 3 from her diet.
Thanks for the intel
I would love to see AlishaMarie review of what I eat in a day
On the list
Oof she’s even worse than Remi in the triggering sense 😂
@@sarahbeaver5328really?
I enjoy watching Remi's videos but definitely try to stay away from when she talks about food. I find she eats a lot of diet culture "healthier" prepackaged foods. She ends up making different meals for her and her bf which sort of just makes me sad that she feels she can't eat the same thing because she needs a healthier version. I'm glad she seems happy I just can't imagine eating like that.
That's a really good way to put it
Yeah, I know that he's a much bigger person than her and probably needs a lot more calories, but when I see her serve herself half as much food as him (or even less sometimes), it's a bit heartbreaking.
Thanks for sharing. Sorry that it is triggering for you
I really love Remi, but I have found her "what I eat in a day" videos quite triggering. She's very obsessed with food and dieting. I'm trying to better my relationship with food and my body. Thanks for this!
I'm sorry it is triggering for you. Glad this is helpful
@Maria Martinez Galindo it's more the videos and how she edits them! That's what I find triggering
I totally agree with you on this!
@@EmThrives like, I adore her!!! I just can't watch those videos!
@Maria Martinez Galindo Words like "zero calorie" "sugar free" "good vs bad" "healthy vs. not healthy" are all diet culture words and are triggering for people. She says all of those things. That's talking about dieting.
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one-I’m so happy you’re breaking down her supps (I’ve been curious about the pre-workout). I love her personality but sometimes I’m triggered by the diet lingo. But watching your vids has helped me to think more critically
I'm glad they are helpful!
I’m learning so much and I’m so happy I found your channel. You’re making me RELAX about diet culture. BALANCE IS KEY!!! Thank you for doing what you do.🥰
The best preworkout is...being adequately fueled with nutrients that come from food 👌💪
I’m so happy you reviewed Remi, she’s one of my favorite youtubers! She actually tweeted today that she went to a PCOS specialist so I’ll be interested to see if her diet changes at all
Glad you enjoyed the video
Omg I looooove Remi! I'm so glad you reviewed her. I don't know if you saw it but a while back she re-did her own what I eat in a day from a couple years ago when she first started dieting and really opened up about her restrictive dieting (like she would film a meal but when she cut the camera off, she would throw the food out). I think it's so nice to see a creator being honest with their own dieting struggles and not trying to hide that. Her dieting has become much more balanced since she started her weight loss journey a couple years ago. I loved hearing all your feedback to her current meals 💜
Also, your baby bump is looking SO cuuute Abbey 💜
Thank you for sharing that!
I wish you would've addressed Remi's regular diet culture talk, discussing foods as "naughty", "clean" etc. because I think it is very innacurate and triggering, however good video none-the-less!
Sorry I missed that. Glad the video was helpful
Her food reminds me a lot about my old habits: low calorie substitutes, lots of water, low carb, etc. I had these habits after having my baby last year, and combined with exercise and breast feeding, my weight dropped to a scary 43kg and im 165 cm. I got very bloated and lost my period. One day I just had enough and started to eat like a normal human being. Guess what, my bloating problem is gone, my mood is much better, and i just got my period back yesterday. It is still not a healthy period at all, but it is a mile stone! I need my period and plan to have more kids lol. Plus, using these dieting habits made my muscle shrink, which i exercised regularly to maintain. What a waste!
Sorry if this is too personal, but how long did it take to get your period back? Mines been gone for 6 months (not pregnant) and I'm taking your approach, and starting to eating normally.
It would definitely feel diety to me as well, but I also understand she’s actively trying to maintain a pretty significant weight loss. As I said however, I still do not think it’s enough.
Victoria Nash I probably should get check up, but with the covid 19 thing, i did not unfortunately. I think comparing to protein,
Carbs and fat are more important to get period back, at least for now when we lost it. I started to have white rice, but white bread is great too. I have nuts and seeds, and healthy fat. I think around 2-3 weeks after doing this, i can see regular discharge lol. Sorry if this is too much info. I still dont have it stable, but at least something happens here, and it is a good start.
Stitching in the Boro definitely. Before i was obsessed with protein bar and protein powder as they are filling. Now it makes me sick by thinking to eat them. I have not ditch them only because they were not cheap lol
Victoria Nash btw i think IF contributed to my loss of period i think
Can you react to Linda Sun's 'what i eat in a week to lose weight' that was posted on the 15th August? that video has so much positivity i love it so much!
On the list!
Thank you, once again, for talking about hyponatremia! I always have this need to drink, and it always worries me (last night I even dreamt that I was hospitalized because of my water intake as my doctor warns me). I usually drink around 8L/a day, and I know that some times I drank more than 10L. I try to be careful, and have my sodium level checked every once in a while but it’s kinda scary. And I tried to reduce my water intake, but I just can’t. That’s why I can’t help but praising people who talk about this issue. I know that most people don’t drink enough water, but they need to be careful not to drink too much. I didn’t know for a long time that it was dangerous, until I talked to my doctor about it. So thank you for bringing this up in the video!
Glad that was helpful!
Have you been tested for type 1 diabetes? Because excessive thirst is a symptom of type 1 diabetes
Honey Wilson Yes I’ve been tested, and before the results came I thought that it was what I had as my mother has it, but no I don’t have diabetes. I have to admit that’s a bit of scary not knowing where this need of drinking comes from
@@sunangelos well that's good that it's not diabetes! Cuz having diabetes and not knowing is really dangerous but at least that is ruled out. Maybe it's just in your head? Not to sound rude but I know I can get in my head about my water consumption sometimes but nothing to this extreme.
Have you been checked for diabetes insipidus? This isn’t type one or two but it’s actually a different kind where you are extremely thirsty all the time!
My sincere suggestions please include some Asian people's like Indian, Nepalese, Chinese...... what I eat in day plz plz plz plz plz plz 🙏🙏😭beacause we have a different eating routine and food types plzzzz plzz
did you see her reviewing cheaplazyvegan? I thought her habits were quite different from mine (as a european)!
Thanks for the feedback, do you have any suggestions?
@@AbbeysKitchen Sejal kumar, Komal Pamdey, Kritika khurana, thatquirkymiss are a few
@@AbbeysKitchen Jenn Im has tons of food content!
@@AbbeysKitchen yeah there are others like Emi Wong, Jenn Im, Joanna Soh Official..........:)
People are chewing her up on the comments and it’s actually concerning. It’s difficult to lose weight when everyone’s trying to correct you , let the girl figure it out for herself ! Everyone’s body is different and everyone’s diet is different.
Totally!
Who said Monday’s were boring?
Especially not when Abbey Sharp has uploaded 😃🤗
😊❤️
Hey Abbey, I keep getting ads for this "Lumen" device that you breathe into and it tells you what to eat or do to "maximize your metabolism" or something. Maybe something for you to look into?
Thanks for the suggestion
Abbey Sharp I second that! please if you can look into it that would be appreciated🥺
@@AbbeysKitchen I have also been seeing this ad!
What? That’s so weird! People should just listen to their bodies and eat balanced rather than relying on a machine/tool to tell you what to eat. You know yourself and your body best
Can we just talk about how she said remi has 400 million total subscribers?!😆
😂 baby brain hahaha
Oops! I meant 4 million. Baby brain 😂
Lol I was like whoahhhh I had no idea anyone had that many subscribers on here 😂
Since when is water free in America? Cause I pay a water bill! 😂
😂
Some apartment complexs, my electric was dumb cheap and water was “free”
In nyc it’s free unless maybe in a private house
I thought “lucky Americans” because we have water bills in England. But I guess maybe her water bill is included in her rent?
TheYNirvana yeah, water isn’t free here, I think maybe she just meant abundant!
Wooo! Super excited to see what you have to say! Loved following Remi’s journey these last few years!
Hope it was helpful!
So glad you reviewed remi !
😊👍
Abbey, as someone who is pregnant for the first time (13 weeks), I dont know why but watching videos while you're pregnant makes me feel so much better. I feel so sick today, and your videos just take my mind off it while being educational and comforting 💖 good luck with your birth.
So glad! And congrats !!
Saw Reno watching Sierra Schultz is in the background 🤗 love her
same!
You should do an updated video on Remy. I feel like her diet is much different now.
I'm glad you did this review. I think another youtuber to look at would be learning to be fearless. I watch her a lot and she started doing WW.
On the list!
Can you do a video on weight maintenance post quitting a sport, like dance? Really struggling to find resources on this. I'm having trouble figuring how much I need to eat now that i'm not working out nearly as much.
You should watch Frumpyfit’s videos on weight loss!
Thanks for the suggestion
Omg this is me!! I did dance my whole life and have struggled once I quit. I don’t really enjoy exercising unless it’s dance
Could you review Ashley Wicka? She is a vegan youtuber who posts a alot of “what i eat in a days” :)
On the list
Yes !!! I love ashley !
I'm excited lol
Thanks for a great video! Remi fan but in the past she admitted to cooking healthy meals for her channel but would never actually eat them and would throw them away. Her yoyo dieting and recent weight gain (that she mentioned) definitely makes me not whole heartily take her advice.
I suffer from food allergies anyway, so I can't eat most of the things she has mentioned. Just hope her younger audience doesn't take this too seriously
Thanks for the info
Regarding the shirataki noodles that come up in her video, they make great stir fry or lo mein type dishes. I tried them once out of curiosity and have found that, rather than replacing other pastas with them, they work well as an intentional ingredient in a dish. If you dry fry them (medium hot pan + noodles) they get a much more pleasant texture and a richer taste because you essentially dry out some of the extra moisture. You know they are done when they make a squeaking sound on the pan. Sauté away with veggies, whatever sauce (or sauces) you want, and your protein of choice.
I hope to see a review of Jenn Im one day! Very chill videos and interesting foods.
On the list
Love that you do these and aren’t trying to bash people but being very respectful and informative
Thank you
Abbey can you do a video linked to working shift patterns and recommendations about what or how to eat when switching from days to nights and vice versa. Or if you have a video to that please point me in that direction.
Thanks for the suggestion
Can you do a review of Maryana Dvorska? She is a fitness UA-camr and does videos called Munchie Monday’s.
On the list
I would love that!
I was waiting for you to talk about Remi!! I had an eating disorder and I find her videos to be little triggering sometimes bc she has a very toxic "diet culture" mindset. :( and always talks about "low cal" I really wish she can focus on how nourishing Whole Foods are rather than focusing on the numbers :(
It would definitely feel diety to me as well, but I also understand she’s actively trying to maintain a pretty significant weight loss. As I said however, I still do not think it’s enough.
OMG I AM OBSESSED WITH REMI ASHTEN!!! Her positivity and energy really helps me get through the day
I'm so glad!
Can you do Linda Sun????? Plz
On the list!
can you do Claudia Sulewski? both her How I Lost Weight & My Body Confidence Journey video and then some 'what i eat in a days'
FINALLY!!! I’ve been waiting for Remi to be reviewed, love her
😊👍
ABBYYYY I would love to see you partner with Kym Campbell. She's a nutritionist who focuses entirely on nutrition for PCOS afflicted women. She's helped so many women overcome their PCOS symptoms with their food choices
Thanks for the suggestion!
I second this! I follow Kym’s program and it has been life changing. It focuses not only on comprehensive nutrition advice backed by high quality scientific research, but intuitive eating and emotional wellness are also addressed. I would highly recommend that anyone with PCOS take a look at her “Beat PCOS” programs.
I’ve been waiting for the day she did this review! Yaaaas!
😊
Would you do a video on how to read and digest nutrition studies for a lay person? I feel like there’s a real issue with people misinterpreting and over generalizing results of scientific studies, especially nutrition.
Thanks for the suggestion
I need to watch more content like this more regularly. It keeps my thoughts aligned. Love it!! 🥰
So glad!
Can you review Elzani’s what I eat in a day? Personally I think her videos are really helpful in recovery from an eating disorder. I’d love to hear your opinion!
I'll have a look
I would love you to do Alex “learning tone fearless” she’s currently on WW and thriving!
On the list
Abbey Sharp amazing tysm! I’m so excited :) love ya abbey
Abbey, I would loooove to see you review Beatrice Caruso's what I eat in a day! She's so genuine and amazing and I would love to see what you think about it :D
On the list!
Do you have any multivitamin recommendations that are on the more reasonably priced spectrum? I saw you have one on amazon you recommend however 66 dollars is out of my price range. For example Olly or Nature Made
Again such a help in these types of videos. Appreciate your channel so much!
So glad!
Liquid IV is great for hangovers though! I brought it to my sisters Bach party 😂
😊👍
I think you would do great making podcasts. Love that you give scientific facts but still try to see 'the person' behind their foodchoices. It's clear that you research before putting it on youtube, which is appreciated by a lot of people :).
Thanks for the suggestion!
It would be great to see Miss Tiffany Ma! She does a lot of what I eat in a day videos. :)
Hey abbey, a lot of people use liquid IV if they struggle with dehydration or need more hydration then most! For example the condition POTS.
My cousin had POTS and and I cant look at powerade after seeing her drink that shit every day she later switched to sodium pills.
Violet Holiday yes it’s so much drinking. Personally I hate Powerade. Sodium pills are great if you can’t keep up with the extra salt intake. But hydration is still extra important
@@mikki_s1100 she works at Starbucks so hydration is definitely not a problem for her I don't think I've seen her with a out fruity tea since she started working there.
Thanks for sharing!
I’d love to see you review Nikki B and also Hanna Öberg!! ❤️
Both are on the list
awesome work abby! i really enjoy all of your videos, their so realistic and awesome!!
Thank you!
Would love a review of katie from love sweat fitness
On the list
I love you Abbey and thank you so much for staying true to what you do!❤️
It would be so nice if you would consider making a Facebook group to help people who are struggling with their relationship with food and we will support each other on our eating journeys! But for now, UA-cam is fine lol
Rocio Lira love that idea!
I actually love those liquid IV things! I still try to drink the same amount of water that I would otherwise, but as someone who has a condition where I black out when I stand up (I’m not anemic, it’s called Vesovegal syndrome) and it gets a lot worse with I haven’t eaten enough, if I’m stressed, if it’s hot out, or if I’m even a little dehydrated. These actually really help me on days when its super hot out, when I’m being super active, or if I am doing an intense workout. On days like that, it’s sometimes the only thing that stops me from blacking out or just getting dizzy while walking. Obviously it won’t work or be necessary for everyone, but for me it’s really great. Plus it’s absolutely delicious, I love the lemon lime one, it tastes like Gatorade but way better.
Sorry to point it out but you misspelled Vasovagal syndrome 😊
Glad these work for you!
Benedetta Vandoni thank you! I had absolutely no idea how to spell it at all, I’ll change it now
I felt so proud of myself last night because I made a dinner that I feel like Abbey would approve of-Kale with some quinoa and black beans and some spicy seared tofu. With salsa and crispy onions on top 😋
Yum!
That sounds delicious!
Lol, so she's having 15 bottles of water. Add the packets that multiplies each one by 3 so in 'facts' she's aiming to have 45 bottles of water? Or for the bottles to get through 3x faster? Either way I'm concerned.
it is a lot
I have been waiting for this one, have you already done one on Jordan Shrinks ?
Not yet, on the list
I would love to see Beatrice Caruso!
On the list
Would love to see you review WW vloggers! A lot of them have extremely unbalanced and problematic diets.
Kelsey Elle Yes!! It seems to easy to be unbalanced on things like WW. Abbey I would love to hear your thoughts! People need to hear it!
Any suggestions?
@@AbbeysKitchen most are relatively smaller accounts, but Amanda Lewis, Louise Lane, and Sophia MarieDee are a few.
Abbey Sharp LearningToBeFearless has some video's as well. She has over 400k subscribers.
FYI water in the US is not free haha idk what it is like in Canada but we have monthly water bills
Oops, sorry about that
Where is your shirt from, Abbey?!?!?!
Hey! Just a little correction, Hiponatremia is not the right term for describing having too much water. Hiponatremia is a medical condition that means a low concentrion of the Na+ ion in the blood and can be caused by having too much water (the amounts of water dilutes the blood and there is a lower concentration of Na+ which is necessary for several cell procesess). The other thing is that the kidney can dilute the urine in a maximum of 20L per day, so having 11L of water is a lot, but it won’t hurt her. If everything works well her brain should stop releasing the ADH hormone and the excess water goes away in pee.
Thanks Abbey. Love the positive way you talk about diets!
Thanks!
I think you did a great review on Remis diet! I like seeing what she eats as I also suffer from PCOS but I do find it unrealistic due to the fact that so much of what she buys are fad food trends and thus extremely expensive. The water she buys plus the different low carb alternatives are very expensive for most people.
loved this video!! just wanted to add that remi actually has gone to see dr. goglia whose a nutritionist before but he has put her on kinda strange diets like a tomato diet and stuff
Thanks for the intel
I know that whole grain breads can be a good part of a healthy diet, but I'm curious why you are suggesting more carbs in the form of bread & rolls when Remi is pre-diabetic (PCOS is caused by Insulin Resistance)? Whole Wheat flour (even though it is healthier than refined) will still spike insulin quite considerably.
I’d love to see a review of Sarah Therese’s liver cleanse. She says it was recommended by a doctor for hormonal balance. It would be super interesting to hear your take!
On the list
Abbey Sharp Thank you!!
Remi has come out and said after this day in the life that it was not sustainable for her. Could you review a more recent what I eat in a day from Remi? She eats very different now and would love to get your thoughts on that.
Hi Abbey! Can you do a video on how to add more veggies to your meals? I love your videos sm!
Thanks for the suggestion
Thank you Abby for reviewing Remi!!! I think she definitely showed and talked about the negative effects of diet culture in her videos - and it’s just good to have a fact check to prevent us from being too influenced by the distorted parts of diet culture!
Glad it is helpful!
Wow I love this comment section everyone is so nice like " I suggest" and " could you please' in other comment sections everyone else is like do this do that
Great review Abbey! Please keep making more, these are my favorite types of videos!
Thank you! Will do!
I think that Remi is still working with Dr. Goglia a nutritionist, which is who the Kardashians see. I know Alisha Marie and her friends also go to him. It would be awesome if you could do a video about his diet plans. I've heard influencers on his diet plans talk about "tomato jail" and he also came out with apple cider vinegar pills
Interesting!
Hi I would love to know your opinion on the Celsius drinks I have been seeing go viral on TikTok and social media
I'll have a look

I would like you to review Valeria Lipovetski !
On the list
I love Remi and if you look into her vlogs more recently I think the foods she makes and eats now are a lot better and her relationship with food seems a lot better than what it is in this video
Hi! Is it normal to have processed carbs with every meal in America? Not sure if you’re commenting on the lack of carbs in each meal because there should be full carbs in each and every meal or if you’re suggesting more carbs here and there as all meals in your opinion are lacking in carbs? Would love to know! Thanks! :)
I’ve been waiting for this omgggg!!!
😊👍
You should review one if Jasmine Taylors what i eat in a days!
I do think it should be taken into account that a lot of doctors suggest reducing grains for pcos mainly for a decrease of inflammation etc. Pcos has a tendency to cause a lot of intolerances (including dairy&gluten) and increases the risk of insulin ressistance.
So I really really don't think that cutting out bread&noodles is bad at all.
(I know everyone's body is different but with endometriosis cutting out gluten helped me reduce constant bloating and throwing up. It also seriously reduced my general pain level. )
Thanks for sharing your experience
I love Remi so I was excited to see this!
So glad
Love your channel! Would love if you could review someone who follows an autoimmune paleo diet to help with their chronic illness. Thriving with paleo and missfitandnerdy are some great channels that cover that lifestyle! ❤
Thanks for the suggestions
Very interesting, I follow a similar diet. I was diagnosed with diabetes and did a low carb, higher protein/fat diet. I lost 30 lbs and still losing about 0.5-1 lbs a week. I also got off medication within 5 months 👐 I am still doing it because it helps maintain my blood sugar. I did start incorporating more carbs slowly, and my blood sugar increased but still stayed in a healthy range. I wonder if I'm doing a healthy diet.... Or if I should increase my carb intake... Hmmm lol
You probably should not just do that since I don't think Abbey is making suggestions for people with all types of conditions. Just for general health. You should talk to a doctor or dietician if you can so they can help you with your specific needs.
I love liquid IV! I like it for times I'm not feeling well or sweating a lot. It helps me with migraines, headaches, recovering from food poisoning, hangovers, colds/flu and when you're outside doing yard work sweating in the sun. My husband likes it for hiking. I'm not saying it cures anything but I do feel that I feel better quicker with it than without it.
Glad that works for you!
I rarely comment but I wish you would have picked a more recent video. I’m going through the comments after watching the video and her food preferences have changed. I’m a big fan of her and she’s not all “diet culture” that people are preaching about her
I do understand what you mean and I felt that while watching day one. I do watch Remi regularly and really do like her. However, Day 2 is much more recent so I think Abbey was going for a wider range
@@osioneoseni-elamah4161 yes, thank you
Could you maybe do a video for recommendations for those with hypotension? How much sodium is safe? What are the best supplements for electrolytes? etc.
I know Liquid IV is often recommended for those with hypotension however it has so much sugar I don't think that would necessarily be healthy!?!
I love your reviews! I would love to see one on Caleb Marshall aka the fitness Marshall. He is so much fun to watch and his moves are so much fun! Ps. Congratulations on your new baby!!
