Had a lot of trouble with the flex cable clip and your video was a life saver, realised the little tab on the side was straightened out so bent it back and fitted using your video as a guide. Clip fitted perfectly, great job.
I appreciate the low-key delivery - quite helpful in managing the repair calmly. You might mention the metal clip with a protruding tongue which is held in place beneath the right-hand screw that secures the home-button shield to the body and that it must be swapped to the new assembly. Thanks for helping me repair my phone - much obliged and subscribed :)
What about the small metal bracket on the right side of the home button, what is the location it should be pointing at? I just replaced my button but I still have the same problem as I had before. It sometimes reacts when I press it and sometimes nothing happens. I'm kinda confused since everywhere I look process seems the same, and I did everything right. I even went ahead and ordered one more button, since they are not so expensive and it's worth giving a shot. Any ideas? My phone is iPhone SE, but process seems the same.
@@kv1218 Yep, I still did not manage to find solution to this. And yeah, button I mentioned that I ordered does the same thing as original, so something else must be wrong and I really have no idea what it might be. It still randomly activates and presses home button on it's own sometimes, but for majority of time it just doesn't work.
It should be pointed so it touches the small part connected to the metal shield for the screen, and it should be bent down enough to where it will touch when the phone is assembled and pressed together. I believe this is a common ground point to the rest of the phone that the button needs to work properly.
