    Been using the ottos for years now. Absolutely awesome after new foam tips. Definitely worth the cost of admission. Keep up the good work on these videos.

    I think you might be one of my favorite reviewers, bro. In the mountains, crisp clear sunny day with snow, awesome gear and punk rock. And I guess you seem like you know what you're talking about too😂. Glad to see you on yt for now. As I a fireman I say, decent stash keep it going

    Would be interested in an update on this in the future. A few of my friends have these and two of them stopped holding a charge. OTTO told them to pound sand and buy a new set. $500 down the toilet.

      Same. After a year my micros died. Sticking to pro ears. My micros are expensive earplugs now.

    My favorite gear reviews. Mainly due to his vast experience in the field. This man might be cheerful, but he'll drop the hammer.

    Searched for a month or two looking at different in ear hearing protection. Over ear does not work too well since I wear glasses and they have a tendency to push them into the sides of my head. Found these about a year and have loved them ever since.

    I have had a pair for about 5 years and they are the best sounding ear buds I've used. Don't use my Comtac3 anymore outdoors. The battery lasts crazy long for how small. I've never had them die in use, and rarely have to charge the case. I find they aren't enough protection at an indoor range though. I double up inside.

    For that price, I wish they offered Bluetooth capability so they could double as wireless earphones. I have both the Peltor TEP-200s and Caldwell Shadows and while not as durable or weather resistant, the latter pair only costs a little over $100 and plays music from my phone quite decently. It's become a staple of mine for airline travel

      @david300m Рік тому +1

      I reached out to them a few year ago about future offerings, i.e. Bluetooth. They said no plans for now. I think it would be a nice upgrade even at the loss of some battery life.

    • @shootinbruin3614
      @shootinbruin3614 Рік тому

      @@willy0301 Not satisfied at all unfortunately. The TEPs functioned fine when they were working, but they died in less than a year. The rubber power buttons on each piece dried up and disintegrated, exposing the electronics underneath. Still in the middle of having them serviced

    Even shooting every weekend for 2-3 hrs,thats expensive, when there are products half the price. Legit products that have a record of being solid. Walker's are around $200.

    These guys look pretty low profile.. are you able to use over ears in conjunction without mashing the ottos into your skull?
    I agree about the price point.. but it’s all about perspective. I’m a combat vet with the appropriate amount of hearing loss/tinnitus, but I’m an airline pilot now, and need to keep a medical, so I need every bit of protection I can get. It’s money well spent, if they work well.

  • @David-kb2nh

    These have an 18 month warranty which seems pretty low for the price of these. People have complained about the battery losing its strength a couple years in and the battery is not replaceable. With the chance of these going out or the battery dying after 18 months I just cant justify buying them.

  • @peterharmon7852
    @peterharmon7852 Рік тому

    Can they play music too? Would be a cool feature to make them more of a diverse product. Nice for the subway and gym as well as the range, ya know?

  • @walkercustoms

    I've never understood in ear and over ear protection at the same time. Granted I've got considerable hearing damage from gunfire in the old days but either one and I can't hear a sound. Double wouldn't make a difference for me it would be extra steps.

  • @loudnoises4627
    @loudnoises4627 Рік тому

    Should compare these with the Walker’s Silencer 2.0. Ear fitment is a lot better and half the price of the Ottos. Used them on the M2 .50 cal for 4 days straight and noticed no more protection than what traditional over the ear Peltors offer. I will say Peltors noise cancelling specific to wind is much better.

    I used a pair similar to these by 3m but after 3 years the ear piece stem broke off after changing ear tips..... Does this happen with these?

    In my opinion, in the ear are the next step towards integrated earpro on helmets.

  • @2of2DCH

    I like mine, but they failed fairly quick. After checking mine out a buddy picked up a pair, and they also failed.
    Considering we only used them maybe once a month, and both experienced issues, I question their durability. If they were cheaper(around $300) I'd consider a second pair, but for now I run passive custom molds.
