I celebrated my one year 29 April. I started with a friend twist and ripping as well as backcombing some. I got maintenance the first month or so then left them to do their own thing. I have some thin ones, really thick ones, ones with blunted ends, ones without. A crazy mess that I love.

After I cut them off it was nice change but I have gone back to them so on my second time having dreads. I prefer it like you I don't really want to comb or brush and I really love the style of having them. Cheers!

mine are still baby locks. I've just crossed into my second month. and put them in because I swore if I didn't try it before then, the week I personally found grey hairs (I'm 38) I would put them in. And personally despite the work it is to get them started I'm liking them so far. XD

Anyways, I have natural dreads like yourself and I want to shave the sides. Do you know anyone who has done this with freeform dreads?? Any tips or ticks? I can not find a tutorial on this anywhere. With freeform, I don't know how to get a somewhat clean part. I stuck with taking off too much dread or to little in some spots. Thanks so much for your time and help!!

It's 2-3 years and they're autonomous ie. self-sustaining. Yours look like mine did when I cut them, you're right . . they feel "normal" and problem after cutting them is, you no longer feel "normal". So. I'm at it again :)
