  • Syris was a US power metal band from South Elgin, Illinois. They initially recorded a demo in 1993. In 1995 their self-titled debut and one of the best power metal albums of 90s was released by Shark Records. In 1998, with an almost new line-up (only the drummer was present in both albums), they released "Unseen Forces" and disbanded shortly after.
    Band members in this album:
    Nick Bucci - Vocals
    Scott Payne - Guitar
    Jason Schultz - Guitar
    Marty Malcolm - Bass
    Sean Brown - Drums
Dedicated to the memory of Scott Payne (R.I.P.)

this is marty malcolm..Original and only bass player for Syris!Scott Payne and I wrote this song and it still ROCKS!There is only 1 true Syris. The second album isnt our band.Just a back stabbing drummer and his new friends trying to be us.NOt even close.

Hey Marty This Album means so much to me !!
.... Funny that good metal came out of this small town (I live In)
Ran into Jason not to long back, We were talking about the band and the early days of south elgin. Turns out he jammed in my basement back in the day with some of his friends.
I started a Power/thrash metal band a few years ago. And Syris has added to my influences of playing guitar.

Still my fave album recorded in the 90's. Nothing can beat these melodies. Hailz from Portugal.

Hey Al,I was in the band and felt betrayed. With that being said,Sean was my very close friend and I miss him all the time.Past is past-.I posted that comment because I did not know about the second disc untill I saw it on line that day!

Drummer was nothing about back stabbing - second Syris CD was released with new line up because unfortunately the writing died with Scott Payne as he wrote all the songs. The second CD was in tribute to the drummer's best friend/cofounder of the band.
