- This is the sole (according to my knowledge) release of Southern Heet, a hard rock band from Texas, USA. Their self-released 7" promo single named "Armadon" (1980) contains a great pompous hard rock/metal tune and a 70s-flavored ballad.
The only members mentioned on the label are D. Prudhomme and G. Gordon. Any further info is welcomed.
Great vocals with captivating instrumental parts. Both songs I like! The band seems to be a very obscure one, I didn't find any more songs or infos about them. Surely they were popular ...Thank you introduce me to these rarities :)
Very nice.!!!!!!!
I am D. Prudhomme
I wrote the music and I have more if you are interested.
David Prudhomme is my name you can find a video of one of my projects on the tube Dave Prudhomme and Amasia
Oh man. What a blast from my past. I'm Dale Prudhomme and I played drums for the band. I was sixteen years old when we recorded this. Dave Prudomme, my brother, vocals and rhythm guitar, Gary Gordon- vocals and keyboards, Mark Johnson- lead vocals and Larry Weatherford on bass.
Thanks for posting this. May I ask, where did you find the demo? We also had a cassette tape with 4 tracks that we sent out to several outlets. Band started in 1978 and dissolved in 1983.
Dale Prudhomme Hey Dale! Thanks for the detailed info! I bought this vinyl via eBay a couple of years ago, I really liked it so I ripped and uploaded it. Cheers!
OliverMagnum21 A link to our other songs from our final demo. Feel free to upload these too: ndynamics.cloudfileaccess.com/download.html?message=F7014774-CE38-4076-9467-AAF8087A1355&recipient=1A304670-3D18-4024-AAED-FE9E1F28085C
Dale Prudhomme As a side note, this demo was paid for by me laying down two little drum tracks to be used by our local PBS Television station for fillers between programs. My one and only professional studio Gig.
1981...
Dale Prudhomme Thanks a lot for the demo stuff! The ones I enjoyed most were "Death Child" and "Voyage to the unknown". Cheers!
Dale Prudhomme I will probably upload the demo too, but it's gonna take a while. Will keep you posted. Thanks again!
Weird but nice Pomp rock
You should have seen the video.
LoPhatHam We did make a video for Armadon... At our local cable company. It was shown on local access tv. If you saw it, please tell me where. I'd like to see it again. Our good friend, Master Shannon Harvey (RIP), demonstrated some really killer martial arts.
Just realized it was you Gary. Hope you're good
