@@TheGardenSnake hey! Just a suggestion, maybe u could edit a 10-15 min video timelapse of your build with some montage like those car builds that I get recommendations by youtube. This might give this build the view count it deserves.
Wow, that's a very useful video. Thank you for your explanation of bike supplies for the trip. I'm glad to be a friend of your great channel. Have a nice Sunday. 👍👍👍🤙🤙🤙👌
be thankful you've only had that issue since you were older.. I have had that issue since about 13.. I slipped off the seat of my bicycle and ended up wedged between the tire, frame and reflector... Needless to say lefty still gets random shots of pain. -.- I still wonder if I'll ever be able to have kids thanks to it.
The big-ass Nelson-Rigg backpack/dry bag is sick. I used mine to do my grocery shopping for a couple of months while I was bike only. I wouldn’t wear it as a backpack for any trip longer than like 20 minutes because it’s so huge and gets awkward. Works great strapped to the passenger seat for longer trips though.
chef jake up in here with his cutting board mt07 that he uses for his outdoor cooking youtube channel I do enjoy using whatever you can do make it work and look good. My dad and I made a gimbal like go pro mount for the top of my drift car. using a wheel bearing and a fin out of sheet metal.
So good 👏🏾. I recommend helicopter tape to prevent your bags rubbing through paint work, it's a clear thick tape that's used for protecting helicopter blades and bicycle frames 👍🏾
Oh Jakey Jake. You should try mounting your duffle sideways because that leaves you with more butt room and don't worry about aerodynamics either. It's an adventure bike, not a track bike. And if you drop your bicycle the bag will soften the blow slightly. Beginner tip from a beginner.
The bag is mounted further back than the back of the seat. It doesn’t interfere with the seat at all this way. The crash cage catches the bike if he drops it. 🤷♂️
I have the large backpack and i strapped it on my z800. I did 1600 miles from fl to nc to the coast of sc back to fl no issue and i have used there rain suit for a few years now
& for anyone else wondering Nelson Rigg/Rigg Adventure gear is top tier shit i've been using some of their stuff for years. Cooler, tail bag, dry bag... and that little bag-in-a-bag! Keep it under your tail section and one day getting that food home will pay it all back.
on my TW200 with a cyclerack rear rack a common top box is the harbor freight Pelican copy case. i mounted mine using HP computer/monitor quick release mounts, slim and really sturdy, but they have to slide into each other a few inches to latch, so need some room to slide. in hindsight i would look into snowmobile mounting hardware, but i had access to those computer mounts lol. A hard box isn't too nice for off road anything, its a bit hard on the lower spinal region.
Board looks great, but I'd be concerned with tail light visibility, any driver sitting higher than board level might not see your braking light when going right behind you. For that reason I would think of some additional LEDs to improve visibility.
I just thought "oh, Jake has a new haircut" and then I looked closer and thought "where's his beard tho" and looking even closer, I came to realise, that I was looking at Jake's brother. Wow.
No room for cutting boards up front for Ropax? Could do semi-biomorphic on rear. I used to have a long duffle loosely packed and attached transversly that would hang over edges looking like a rear weighted GiantLoop.
Nooo jake. You are putting weight in all the wrong places, slap those rotopax on the front crash bars and strap some side bags on the side. Weight centralization works 👍🏻 Btw did you lose weight? You look handsome. 😘
Man if I put them up there they’d get smashed! I think I’ve got to rotopaxs in the best place I can put them. They’re protected in a crash and as close to center mass as I can get them. Man I’ve got a dad bod. Need to hit the pedal bike more.
@@TheGardenSnake hmm yeah ok good point there. Just seems like a lot of weight in the worst place it can be 😅Anyway loving the build and keep up the good work 😁 Building a 701 Rally right now check it on my adv Insta @adventure_attack
What bag model did you use on there ? I’ve been searching and I can’t seem to find it ! Great video. I have a Nelson rigg tank and commuter tail bag on my gsxs750 / I might add a rack to a spare pillion seat pad with a larger bag for camping. Thanks 🙏!
Hey Jake... Do your nuts hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie em in a knot? Can you tie em in a bow? Do you sit on em everywhere you go? :D I feel your pain.. I know I'm not the only one either as both Billy Lane and Jesse James have commented on shows about the "chopper lift" where you have to lift the boys up before you sit down on a motorcycle's seat.
So question I had... have you considered changing out any of the plastic fairings? The gray worked well with the neon yellow, but I wonder if maybe the black, white, or some other color would work better with your new(ish) wheels. I just swapped out my gray for the glacier blue, and I am upset with myself now that I waited so long to do so!
How is the visibility of the taillight? It looks super obscured by the stuntframe. Imagine getting pulled over and loosing your plates for that on a trip
I was kinda worried about that but two things I noticed that help. One is the angle, while it looks bad you’d still have to be following way to close not to see them. Like close enough that the grill/hood of the truck would be hiding the whole bike already. We looked at this for a bit messing around with eyeing it. Second observation is these brake lights are super bright especially the side ones. At night there’s a whole glow on the back of the bike and the ground. And in the day they’re still pretty wild. HOWEVER 😁 I have thought about adding a small light back there. If I do I’ll make it on a 3 pin quick connector for quick discount. At that point I’d have 4 brake lights 🤣
This bike is turning into a BMW, in the sense that you’d have to take the whole car apart to change the headlight Edit: don’t get me wrong, I really like the build. Just some harmless humor
Where do u get sick black cutting boards all i find is shitty wood ones an thin white or glass bs lol what store is best for cutting boards? I used 2 to fix my petal boat one for rudder and one for a paddle works mint

Nelson Rigg is awesome. Getting ready to order their saddle bags for my klx 250.
I complained a lot in the comments in the video for the original setup, what you did here is what I was expecting, it looks great
The Nelson Rigg guys are the bomb! Also, how the hell did one of the realest builds on youtube end up only getting these views
I don’t know 🤷♂️
