Congrats! You show me doesn’t matter how many years you’ve been diving, you can learn new ways. It is a very high level. I can’t wait your new videos:)
I love all the attention to bouyancy. Perfect bouyancy at 3’ is a LOT harder than at depth, as the increasing pressure actually helps mitigate small errors. At least on open circuit. Great video!
Congratulations to both of you!! I can't wait to see the new places you will explore with the new certification. I loved watching the process and how skillful you have to be in order to get certified.
First of all congratulations for completing the Sidewinder course! Really looking forward to some rebreather videos and maybe some dives with Woody and Gus! Thank you so much for the great content 😊
I’m a disabled veteran with ptsd. This is terrifyingly amazing to me. I wonder if cave diving would it help me? If I had the money for the equipment I would love to try this. What I would give to take Ed’s class at blue hole. Outstanding mini documentary. Thank you for sharing.
What an excellent instructor. I’m jealous. 😊 Edit to add. Be safe in your new adventures. Everything by the book or checklist. That’s how I’ll always dive.
I'm a bit surprised you did your pre-breathe in the water. I have always done it dry, to reduce the risk of drowning if it's inadvertently hypoxic. Something to consider for future procedures. Have fun, stay safe!
The purpose of the pre-breathe is to test your sensors with pure O2 and to confirm your diluent mix. The whole process is done while watching your P02. If anything is hypoxic, you will see it immediately. It has been shown that using a pre-breathe to "test" the scrubber actually doesn't work. So your pre-breathe is always done watching your PO2.
@@BlueWorldTV That assumes all your electronics are functioning correctly. I understand and agree that pre-breathing is not a reliable test for scrubber functionality, however, you test more than just the scrubber. You can get reasonable assurance gas addition (both O2 and Dil) is functional, and you get to warm-up the scrubber bed. IMVHO it's not harder to test out of the water and quite a bit safer, but YMMV.
hi new sub here and love your content cave exploring :) honestly first thing this reminded me off is the game subnautica if you never played it plz do so ! it will be fun to watch ;)
Jonathan & Todd, CONGRATULATIONS!!! To be trained by the best in the world too, what an honor! Edd seems like he's the "cool uncle" that everyone gravitates to at family gatherings. So much has opened up for you, now. I cannot wait to see even more of the Blue World.
Great job on a serious accomplishment! Did my cave rebreather course with Edd back in 2017; the best thing that came out of it is my enduring friendship with Edd (and Stacy.) Edd is the real deal: a tough instructor who makes sure you know your stuff before you leave, and is always available for support after.
That’s CRAZY how you were out there past sunset. Awesome! Also I knew Edd and his team were masters of the sidewinder but literally burning the harness away? They’re incredible. And Blue World Team, awesome work as always.
Edd is not just a master of the sidewinder. He's THE master. Literally #1, first ever diver certified to use it, even helping test and tweak the design
Congratulations! We're an hour away from Ed's, we often free dive the Pond including Gator Hole and paddle by his place, must be an honor to train with him! Great work with Blue World!
Jonathan, it made me feel great seeing you guys getting your butts kicked. I just wrapped up a sidemount class down there last weekend and felt the exact same way. Ed’s crew are masters of the diving discipline. You guys did a great job, congratulations on surviving the toughest crew in diving!
