    I'm a bit surprised you did your pre-breathe in the water. I have always done it dry, to reduce the risk of drowning if it's inadvertently hypoxic. Something to consider for future procedures. Have fun, stay safe!

    • @BlueWorldTV
      @BlueWorldTV  Рік тому +1

      The purpose of the pre-breathe is to test your sensors with pure O2 and to confirm your diluent mix. The whole process is done while watching your P02. If anything is hypoxic, you will see it immediately. It has been shown that using a pre-breathe to "test" the scrubber actually doesn't work. So your pre-breathe is always done watching your PO2.

    • @jamessarrett4169
      @jamessarrett4169 Рік тому

      @@BlueWorldTV That assumes all your electronics are functioning correctly. I understand and agree that pre-breathing is not a reliable test for scrubber functionality, however, you test more than just the scrubber. You can get reasonable assurance gas addition (both O2 and Dil) is functional, and you get to warm-up the scrubber bed. IMVHO it's not harder to test out of the water and quite a bit safer, but YMMV.

    I honestly would’ve never guessed how in depth it would be, in order to become certified with such a setup! But if I were to ever take on such a challenge.. I’d only ever want to learn how to do so through Ed tho!! I’m not sure I’d be nearly as comfortable to do so with anyone other than the man, the myth, the legend himself!… That’s the one person who I’d be confident enough to know, not just think, that I’d absolutely be steered in the correct direction.. However, that’s certainly not to say that there aren’t other instructors out there, who could do just as good of a job preparing me for such an endeavor. But Ed would be the only person who I’d be 100% comfortable with blindly following his every instruction, while knowing that I’d be totally safe to do so!! I think that with anyone else, I just wouldn’t feel nearly as comfortable or as confident about learning these skills from anyone else. Without at least having some level of apprehension or nervousness about blindly follow their every word.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I get the basic need to control whether you’re floating, sinking, or neutral, it just seems like there are so many factors, (or moving parts so to speak) that you must be aware of to effectively get this right.
    It’s awesome the data that has been collected and applied since diving began. Lot of lives lost to learn from and modify SOP’s to get us where we are today

      That is a good idea. I have to save a lot of money to travel from Norway to the USA to take the training😁 and by the unit😁

    I don’t know what it costs to be trained by Edd but it would be worth every penny, and then some.

    This is an amazing video, probably my favorite one you guys have ever made.
    I am curious, what lights do you dive, and how do they compare to Ed’s UWLD?

    • @BlueWorldTV
      @BlueWorldTV  Рік тому +1

      I don't really know anything about the lights Edd uses. We have been using BigBlue for a long time and love them a lot. We did a video about our camera gear over on our other channel and we talked about the lights:
