Watching him play feels like those ads where the guy keeps going through the wrong gate over and over. But honestly, it makes me want to get the game just to dif him. so gg
I really don't understand his axe placement blindness. He makes a 90 degrees turn and somehow thinks that there is only one place for an axe in there, so he'll spend like 3 blocks to place another.
@@MrMiddleWick This. This right here. Drives me BONKERS when he refuses to have the axes intersect. Like... dude, a 180 turn has FOUR spots for axes! And he still hasn't seemed to have read the text that says Axes are Arcane; Arcane damage crits above 80% health haha
The variety of different ways the human brain can work is so cool. Some people have encyclopedic knowledge of films released before 2000 but cannot rotate shapes
21:21 Him constantly edging the piece back and forth from the correct placement had me screaming in agony. Then I screamed even harder when he didn't place it in the correct spot.
@@mike-yd4pyAs a bloons player I do have to consider that the importance of target priority isn't baked into everyone's mind by default, it takes a lot to realize how good it can be
He really had me going there when he temporarily stopped fixating on forcing them all into one path as early as possible and instead started building a back and forth maze from the fire out. And then since that didn't immediately show results he decides to return to his previous shenanigans that also didn't show results.
Twitch chat is insane. My man made the best maze of his life and people are still treating it as if he is randomly putting blocks like episode 1 of this again. Nevermind couldn't watch after the sequence of events between 21:21 and 22:00
The reason you want to make it squiggly, is to maximise the time that the enemies spend inside your tower range. Long straight lines they just walk out and although they take longer to get to the fire, if you're not doing damage in that time that it doesn't matter. A tower at the end of a 180 can shoot as they approach, all the way around the corner, and then as they leave the other way. If towers have enough range, they can possibly do this for multiple 180s and double their effective damage.
I am just rooting for the enemies here. Because if the game doesn't let him win with his straight "mazes", it means he'll actually have to learn some way if he wants to make any progress.
This series is a great example of how a person can claim that they have learned "to do something", but only think so because they have a false grasp of what "doing that something" really means. Truly a commentary on our society and the frailty of human mind.
Actually becoming furious at the inability to conceptualize a strategic path. Legit just locks off entire swaths of real estate just to make fucking hallways man I cannot.
cleaned out so much shit that had been sitting around for years and then proceeded to watch ryan slowly roll a rock up a hill while talking about how much he loves doing dishes while i did dishes and laughed about it
Honestly he is the perfect guy to advertise a game while playing it. Doesn't matter if it's a sponsored video or not. I can never tell if he's playing like the last neanderthal because he just doesn't care and focuses on chat/his stories or if he really does just zone out and brainfarts his way through. Wether or not it's strategic, it does have a psychological effect.
Chat over here getting mad at sub-optimal maze building when they have sub-optimal back-seating. Quit telling the man to serpentine, tell him to build a Zipper!
Northern just wants them to work on their cardio, makes them take long dubious paths for nothing, while not working to maximize the area of each tower by forcing them around closely cluttered towers, man just wanna build a long path
bought this after seeing NL play it and it's pretty awesome when your blocks, towers, and relics create synergies. win condition is definitely the maze over everything else, all the towers basically do the same thing.
Some advice would be to group up the paths and extending it starting from the fire outward. Getting damage tiles are nice but should not be prioritized, And also not connecting pieces because they waste block spaces that could instead extend the path further. Going for good towers is better than synergies with relics at the start.
Watching nl play is like watching those frustrating ads of people playing bad on purpose and make me want to play the game just to see what a win looks like
To be fair, I doubt he grew up playing flash tower defense games like most of chat/us did. But yeah, watching this video while im used to doing tripple spiral mazes where the enemies have to walk by towers 5 times is a bit mind numbing. Ps: The multiple spiral maze is only possible because the tower defense game i usually play has 2 waypoints the enemy must walk through before going to the end. So you can make multiple paths next to one an other and spiral them around your main path. So they walk next to you tower twice per waypoint (in and out) + once to reach the final destination
Hey Ryan, I dont wanna type A, and also I'm exclusivly a vod goblin, so there's a good chance you already know this by now. But if you didn't, you should consider how your towers are targeting enemies. Posion would be more effective at targeting highest health mobs, so the poison can get spread around, and chip away at everybody at the same time. I had other thoughts, but its all just love and silly games, right? So just do what your vibing lol. Love you bro! ❤
Actually really happy to see this game isn't completely trivial on higher difficulties, easy tower defense games are really boring so I was on the fence about trying out this game considering NL initially beat the game without utilizing any amount of strategy
